How To Build Wooden Lanterns With The Longer Ray5 Laser Engraver
Nice job, what type of plywood did u use? I wanna do exactly samething so a material list would be helpful.
This is an amazing project! You did a fantastic job! I was thinking about making one, but after watching, I think I'll buy it. 😂😂 I just don't have the time. Thank you for sharing this! It's thorough, yet concise. I love the 2 seconds of elevator music while the project dried. 😂 Ope, onto the next part. ⚡
Love the big Tree 🎄
All of these are so cute ❤
Both be fine if someone was hang it outside in weather ????
Aww Taylor, they are the sweetest Christmas bears I've seen this year. And I'm glad you left them natural. 😊Linda
Thank you! Yes, I love the natural look too.
What size dowel do you use for the kangaroo?
If memory serves me correct, it was 1/4 inch. That's what I use the most for toys.
I wish you had tested screw exctraction.
I wish I had thought of that, don't know why I didn't. Thanks for watching!
I need a whole bunch of those Fortner bits of however you spell it. 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
In my opinion, the Irwin brand forstner bits give you the biggest bang for your buck. Thanks for watching!
Interesting. Idreally like to see a tutorial on it. Never used one, id like a laser more for decoration and personalization rather than cutting. Neophyte question, this just uses electricity? No extra gasses or any thing right? (Edtit for fat thumbs)
Yes, electricity only. This is a very simplistic laser, nothing too fancy, but super easy to use. Thanks for watching!
Good stuff. 👍✌️
Thank you!
Great looking project they turned out great Keep building God Bless
Thanks!! Need some ideas for more log slices.
I would like to have known if the batteries are compatible with the dewalt style batteries, the charge time and how long a battery lasted before needing changing. I'll go read the description and see if that will tell me. Looks like a good saw for skid work or picket lines.
Yes, good suggestion for usage. To be honest, I haven't fully killed a battery yet and the company wanted the vid. out so I had limited time for testing. But, so far so good.
Those are adorable ❤
Thank you!
Thank you for your video 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for watching!
Really cute! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
This project was a lot of fun and pretty quick. Give me a few ideas in the comments of other things we can make with these wood slices.
Can I buy it from Amazon?
While I would love to purchase this, $300 USD is a lot of money to spend right now as my company is on strike. Plus the taxes and duties to get it to Canada would hurt even more. Looks like a fantastic product tho and I look forward to more reviews.
Strike?! That sounds rough, sorry to hear that.
Another good review! You’re going to have to build you a new building to house all of these lasers lol
Haha, you're not wrong. We're actually in the midst of designing a shop overhaul. Hopefully I'll have some updates shortly.
@ if you decide to get rid of one, let me know. I may be in the market for one very soon.
paint it with a gradient effect light dark edges lighter towards the center .
That's a cool idea, Thanks!!
I mean it when I say that this laser engraver is pretty cool. The cuts are so clean, it really makes it enjoyable to work with. Thanks for watching!!
I hope you are right,, I just ordered one.. I have been looking at one for awhile and not really sure of what I am doing..
I wonder if you could make the snow man into a stacking toy? Make the center hole bigger. Have a half-inch dowel that could be removed. Snowman could be stacked anyway. Haven't figured out the arms yet. So they could be taken off or on. Nose could be an off/on. Hat could be a post like piece that could be set on top, or drill hole, make it come out the snowmans head, and have a hole in hat so it could be added to top.??? Just a idea to make it into a toy.
That is a cool idea, like a 3D puzzle for kids! I'll have to think on the arm part of it. Thanks!
Hi Taylor, brilliant as always. And I think contrast would look good. 😊Linda
Thank you! Yep, that's been the overall verdict. Now we're trying to figure out what would look the best. Thanks for watching!
Great video!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
They are both cool but the lit tree is, well... lit!
Haha, thank you!
Looks great
Thanks!
Loved both, white and gray!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for making this video and sharing the template, i really appreciate it. Im looking forward to this project using my scroll saw for the first time!
Oh, that is awesome! I hope you have lots of fun creating with your new tool!
Class
Thanks!
Add some contrast. Green front panel and with on the back panel
Yep, it seems like some kind of contrast is the running consensus. Thanks for watching!
@boydstongrove no problem. Keep the great content coming.
Nut napkin in a lighter color. I will experiment though.
Wow, I can't believe the "nut" shape didn't register with me when I was making them, lol. Yeah, lighter would be nice. Thanks for watching!

I love your video! The washers for spacers and the painter's tape to hold the hinges in place! Brilliant absolutely brilliant!
Thank you so much!!
Great idea! Enjoyed
Glad you enjoyed it!
We like your tree. Jack and Marilyn
Thank you!! And thanks for the inspiration! I have the reindeer on my work bench as we speak.
The wife said the tree needs contrast I like as is Keep building
Lol, a household torn, uh oh. Thank you all for watching!
The big tree paint back green so light glow more
Thanks am going to make the two of them. love the one with the lights
Awesome! Hope you have fun building them.
What lights did you use?
I used a cheap set of battery operated LEDs that I purchased from Amazon. I didn't link them because I wasn't super happy with them, but there are tons of battery operated sets on Amazon to choose from.
Brilliant Boyston more nice presents ❤
Thanks!! and Thanks for watching!
Nice tree. Wonder how some foil stars and snowflakes would look on the backboard to amplify the light and make it shine?
That's a cool idea! Maybe they could be cut out of wood first, then wrapped so the light would catch the edges. Great idea, thanks!
Maybe the background could be a flat black, which would make the curls on your top layer pop and the LEDs would accent it well too.
Yes! that's along the lines with what me and my wife were discussing. Thanks!
what if you took some aluminum foil, crinkle it a bit then glue it to the inside of the second tree. I wonder if it would give some cool reflections of the lights
I have some copper foil that might be great for the interior!
Huh, that is a really good idea! Thanks!
ooo, copper would be nice!
Nice job and thanks for the video 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
These Projects were a lot of fun. Thanks for watching everyone!
Love your videos, but I can't draw a stick figure to save my life--is there any chance you might be willing to share a copy of the template of Santa upside down in the chimney--I want to give these to my sons and sister for Christmas Thank you kindly for what you do Tim
Glad you liked it. I actually sketched that freehand in the shop just before cutting it out, but if you give me a "minute" I can make another sketch for you. I'll reach out once it's done.
I finished a quick sketch of The Chimney background with Santa's feet. If you email at Boydstongrove@yahoo.com I'll send it over to you.
I love all of them ❤❤❤
Thank you!
Very very clever addition with the adjustable snare....totally stealing this idea. Thank you!
Thank you! Honestly, it's a pretty common thing with "real" Cajon builders. I got the idea for the knobs from "Woodworking For Mere Mortals".
I really love those projects. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome, glad you liked them! Thanks for watching!
