I just realized that Battlespire's story is almost basically DOOM god damn it bethesda!

Every human innovation began as someone’s autistic special interest. That sounds like a grandiose statement but it’s a statement of fact simply because there is no genius ingenuity without autistic whole-context bottom-up reasoning.

If this was just a goofy puzzle-adventure game and the combat and platforming were cut out, it might have done better and be more fondly remembered.

Even back before Oblivion came out I always said it'd be neat to see another stab at an Adventures game. At this point Elder Scrolls as a franchise is no stranger to branching out into other genres, so I doubt you'd really alienate people the same way nowadays the way Redguard might have done back in the day. I remember spitballing with some people at some point about how cool Assassin's Creed-style gameplay in a full(er)-sized Imperial City could be. One could also argue it'd help tide people over 'til TES6, but we can see how that panned out with Battlespire and Redguard. Of course, my One Fear if this happened would be that they'd just go back to using the Skyrim-lite aesthetic they've been using for every single TES product *since* Skyrim, including ESO, Legends, Blades, Castles... 2:16:35 Always feels funny to see the shit-ass Ordinator feels guy I made a decade ago still popping up in TES content
