18:10- "Get into a real fight" There is really no way to duplicate the internal situation as it pertains to training until you end up in a fight where there is no referee to protect your interest. Its amazing how far from martial, martial arts can be. Of course there's is so much more to combative effectiveness than just this, but this is definitely a keystone principal
My teacher trained with him. I don’t think anyone is like him now. Not near his skill. Just watch his movements.

this is the reason why i like kalis illustrissimo. so formal n direct n will nt take any chance in bringing dwn an opponent. the art is much more in offense rather tyan defense.

I was very curious about the art of Doblete Rapilon; even seeking to learn it. I was under the impression that it died out in the Philippines with GM Mena. I live in the Philippines and could not find anyone who could tell me anything about if anyone is still teaching it. The only thing I could find online about the art was concerning a GM Mena student teaching in France.
exactly , can not find anything about this style. Everything is reffered to Dany Faynot. Maybe the style is under contract with military organisation(?). How come nothing about his family keeping the system alive?

That footwork is scary fast
Man the whole time I was waiting to see a stab off the wiffed slash but it didn’t happen. To be fair stabs with a stick still hurt even without the point though. Got my lip split open with one of those.
I think the stick are too light, try at least 700g or above to represent the real sword...and see how we can control it in the sparring.
