    Want wargames on a budget? Stop buying miniatures and play board wargames. Not only is there an order of magnitude more games covering more battles, but each of them will set you back only a fraction of the cost for miniatures for a single tablestop miniatures game. What's more, you can learn it, play it and pack it up in very short order.

    Very nice. The Brigade Models figures/vehicles are lovely. I’ve also mixed in some Vanguard Miniatures too. I’ve even built vaguely similar forces in 2mm & 3mm scales (in retrospect I should have asked myself WHY?). I’ll keep an eye out for your progress 😉

    Your game is incredibly pleasant and elegant. It captures attention and brings joy, making me want to return for more gameplay. However, during the game, some questions arose that I would like to clarify. 1)how exactly should the unit turn? around the center or turn around the corner of the front? If around the corner, then how to turn at angles greater than 90 degrees? 2) When a unit is in the firing range of enemy unit s, should it move directly towards the center of the enemy base or directly towards the closest part of the enemy base? If a unit is in the firing range of several units, should it move directly towards any of this units or only to the closest one? 3) strange retreat wording. For close combat everything works well, but if the unit retreats from shooting, then according to the wording it teleports to the shooting unit in base contact and then retreats. However, in the video guide it is clear that from shooting the squad simply retreats back 1 Thank you for your wonderful product and for the joy it brings to players!

    Hi. I really like what have you made and i made my own game base of your game system. I can say that i added 3 additional units like Cavalry that can shock enemy by moving together with enemy unit 1" back and enemy for that round can only melee with 2 dice; Archers that can shoot up to 5" using 2 dice however they use 1 dice for melee and die instant if hit twice (on disorder) and artillery that does not have shooting range, uses one die to shoot and is automatically destroyed if hit once. I use small wood blocks acquired from store. My game story is not based on Asian history, but more on Ancient Roman. Respect again for very realistic rule system and simplicity of the game.

    I make bases from acetate sheet (OHP blanks). These are transparent, so the underlying 'ground' shows through. Of course they are extremely cheap!

    • @TheAxebeard
      @TheAxebeard 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are they sturdy?

    • @bhangrafan4480
      @bhangrafan4480 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheAxebeard It depends on the thickness of the acetate and the glue you use. My main problem is that a lot of acetate is quite thin, 100 micron, typically for printing. Some acetate sold in craft shops is thicker and I seek out that. Also superglue is great for this if you are not allergic.

    I have done a lot in 6mm, but because I am into set-piece battles, battalion/regiment/brigade scale, it gets too expensive. I only just realised that there is a great range of 3mm now available which I never knew about. So I am now migrating to 3mm.

    • @TheTabletopGamer
      @TheTabletopGamer 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've tried 2mm irregular miniatures before for the American Civil War, it's a good scale for the bigger battles!

  • @bhangrafan4480
    @bhangrafan4480 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm a great believer that wargaming should not be so expensive. Unless you are particularly into collecting and painting miniatures as a hobby in itself, then it is the game that matters. 3mm miniatures are one way to reduce costs, but I have designed a few games using just office stationery materials. I made an ancients game from cut-out A4 coloured mountboard and printed mailing labels, and a transgalactic wargame using pins and paper.

    • @A13_Mk1
      @A13_Mk1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I very much agree with this, most wargaming groups will murder you for using any non-miniature substitutes for a piece, even going as far as to hating 3D modelling despite them looking near identical to their real counterparts. I personally make miniatures for the fun of painting, but I am fine with people using cheap substitutes as long as I can recognise which troops are what, even if they look "messy" or whatever.
