Hi. I really like what have you made and i made my own game base of your game system. I can say that i added 3 additional units like Cavalry that can shock enemy by moving together with enemy unit 1" back and enemy for that round can only melee with 2 dice; Archers that can shoot up to 5" using 2 dice however they use 1 dice for melee and die instant if hit twice (on disorder) and artillery that does not have shooting range, uses one die to shoot and is automatically destroyed if hit once. I use small wood blocks acquired from store. My game story is not based on Asian history, but more on Ancient Roman. Respect again for very realistic rule system and simplicity of the game.
Excellent work! Just bought it. Very interesting, simple but complex. It's got all the basics, well explained. quick to play and cheap to assemble. Also, love the theme. Great work! I am trying to put together simple rules that only focus on the basics, like yours, but I am trying to have different units (infantry and chariots, for example if I want to keep it Chinese setting). I want to add a pre-battle planning and espionage phase, where the Art of War really comes through. Not easy, though. Maybe we can discuss such a system together?
Thanks for the comment and for purchasing the rules, I really appreciate it! I'm always up for discussing rules mechanisms and I've always got something in the works haha. I'll be creating a discord server for the community to meet and discuss my rules and ask questions etc so that'll be a good place to talk about it. I really like the idea of doing a game on ancient/medieval Chinese warfare, there aren't any rules I'm aware of that specifically cover that period and region so it sounds great!
It's some pretty good work. Nice simplicity and compact for travel. But I'm disappointed that it's only matchlocks represented and no variety. It was even your choice of armies, Tokugawa v. Takeda where matchlocks were outmatched by cavalry.
There's no hidden information so playing both sides is a viable option. A fair bit of my playtesting was done solo and it was a great way to test things out. The advantage is that it's a relatively fast playing game so you can set up and play a solo game in an hour.

Youve done a cracking job on this!
Thanks!
Always a delight to see you've put up another video, man. Keep it up!
Where do you source your wooden blocks from?

Can this be played solo?
