Iv experimented a bit with the core tackle and unfortunately wasnt impressed. Thats me tho and I havent tried real hard to make them work. This rig I have absolutely destroyed them with. I just got back from a derby this weekend where the sakamata shad was a huge part of my winning weight.

I agree its seems like a bit of a money grab because its basically a fluke with wings, not sure why the price increase. That being said, even tho their QC is horrible zoom baits still catch them!

I bought a lot a couple years ago and I remember them being around $15. plus shipping. Im telling you, done right they go a long way because alot of the liquid dosnt get soaked up and it stays in the container. A little goes a long way.

Its a 5" deps sakamata shad. Too be honest I cant remember the color. I use a few of them and I remember that day they were biting really well and i was throwing a bunch of different colors I dont think it mattered.

I dont think it would be easy cutting the cubes but Im not sure. As far as just melting the plastic in a microwave safe container that is cube shaped Im not sure it will work, but let us know if you try it.

Thats a great idea. The bottom would have to be flat so you could glue the plastic down and im sure you could pry it out with a knife. The sides dont matter at all so if the prying screwed it up it wont matter. Let me know if you try it.

It works great with a nail weight but you can mess with different jig heads. In the essence of time I didn't.

If you saw the hundreds of fish Iv caught using these methods you would just be bored. Not to mention the thousands of dollars I have won on public pressured waters. I will put my methods up against the freeloaded anytime. The freeloader isnt even in the same universe as the sakamata, driftfry, and fish roller. like you said everyone has an opinion but you do a video of your freeloader at work and put it up for all to see. If its working for you then no need to change, but I can tell you the sakamata and the driftfry are winning bass elite events, toyata series and opens. If the freeloader was so good people would be winning with it.

I 100% percent agree, I said the same thing in the video. My concern would be clear water and high pressure days when you need baits to look as natural as possible.

It may make a difference in clear water and tough days when the fish get a chance to really inspect your lure.

Agreed, I hate the argument that people hate copy cats, I personally love it!!! Way more variety and options for us anglers , only thing I’m not sure on is why everything so expensive still, you’d think that the competition between lure manufacturers would lower prices but it hasn’t.

There is a lot of copying just for a money grab. Why not try and improve just a little bit. Thats what the Japanese companies seem to do.

I would agree on both points. We are going to have to pay more with a clamshell tho, lol. I have bought hundreds of deps products and have never had bent plastics. Zoom forget about it, their quality control is horrible but I have caught loads of fish with their products

I have. From what I can tell those jig heads are more for a falling and gliding action, but if you want a roll they dont work as well. The owner range roller you get both actions.

Realistically zoom created the fluke. I love Deps, but they clearly copied zoom with improvements.

If that works for you keep it up, but thats like saying use any old stick bait not a yamamoto senko. The senko just flat out produces thats why we use it. The dice is not a cut senko.

@Ijustwanttofish2024 I'll be the first to say this. I personally haven't seen one bit of a difference in fishing Yamato senko vs. others none. It comes down to what you have confidence in. Two, I'm saying you can take any worn-out plastic bait and make a spider dice thing, bass eat and eat, they will eat anything when they are in the mood.

@@rickvann3489 The whole point of dice or using a yamamoto senko is because we are fishing for fish that are not in the "mood". Thats where you will notice a difference. If you dont, all good.

kind of a good idea but the shape is different. The shape is made to give the bait an abrupt stop after twitching.

For most of the 4 inch baits the 3/32 with the 1/0 hook is money. For the 5 inch fish roller I use the same 3/32 ounce head. Moving up to the 5 inch drift fry I use the 1/8 with the 3/0 hook because of the bulk to the bait.

My pleasure. You can really use any crankbait but the fritzside comes as a slow float. Iv caught alot of big bass and they usually are slower too react, thats what I think makes this technique so deadly on biggins.

@@user-gj1uh3cm2z Unfortunately there alot of unhappy people out there these days. Its fun playing with your baits and having something the guy in the boat next to you does not. You 100% can use these lures fishing shallow and from the bank.
