the reality of medical appointment fatigue (part 12) - pituitary brain tumor journey
มุมมอง 4959 หลายเดือนก่อน
When I was first diagnosed, making a few doctors appointments here and there didn't feel like that big of a deal. However, with the addition of a recent car accident and concussion symptoms, as well as even more appointments leading up to my actual surgery date, I have started to experience what I can only describe as "appointment fatigue". I have never had this many doctors appointments in my ...

After a recent trip out of town for one of my many appointments to prepare for surgery, I was in a bad car accident that resulted in additional concussion symptoms on top of my already existing pituitary tumor symptoms. my opinion on food and diet (part 10) - pituitary brain tumor journey
มุมมอง 3199 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video might ruffle a few feathers, but this is my own personal opinion surrounding food and diet based on my own experiences and observations of those closest to me. Our current food systems are a mess and ultimately I believe it is very important to think very critically about what we are told is "healthy" and who exactly is telling us what and how to eat. I've made a habit of intuitively...

Excellent
Is your memory coming back?
I have constant itching on my forehead. I also have a growth on my pituitary gland. I get sinus migraines, have terrible memory issues which is getting worse and am totally blah. Not a lot of energy to do much. I have a memory appointment coming up but I’m feeling like it’s no dementia at all
I already know that I have a growth on my pituitary gland and my adrenal gland. My memory is getting worse by every day that passes. I also get migraines that are basically in my sinus . I have been napping too (didn’t used to). I was afraid I was getting dementia but now I’m almost hoping that it’s the growth on my pituitary gland. Saving this video
Further to my comments on your first video, I just wanted to add that my urgent pituitary MRI was not too traumatic at Ealing Hospital in London UK, there was some fancy mirror set into the visor they put over my head, whereby I could watch the radiographers doing their stuff in the cubicle behind me, also there was a pretty flower painting on the ceiling above me as I went in and out! Will follow your many episodes with interest, and update about my own journey following diagnosis yesterday!
Watching with great interest, I just turned 70, live in London UK and like you, have had problems with a cyst in my jaw (around impacted wisdom tooth), then flare-ups of pain and swelling in that lower left side of my mouth ever since, diagnosed as osteomyelitis/osteonecrosis likely due to the several years I had been taking bisphosphonates (alendronate, ibandronate) for osteoporosis, which in turn was due to sudden menopause brought on my losing my ovaries, again due to cysts of different kinds! The pituitary macroadenoma was spotted as an incidental finding on a scan I had a few months back of my troublesome jaw....then I was sent in a hurry for a dedicated pituitary MRI, which turned up a similar kind of tumour to the one you are dealing with. Will keep you posted, praying for you! Note that this trouble popped up, just as I was about to start in a job I was really wanting to get into.....hoping and praying that I can still get into it, and you will also be restored in your professional and personal life!
How weather/dust proof have you found the FX3 to be? Is the FX3 or FX30 considered more weathersealed? I shoot in a lot of harsh conditions and really love the image quality but am worried about my camera
In 2012 I had the surgery as well . The Doctors took a tumor that was the size of a golf ball. My vision fully came back a few weeks later. The tumor came back in 2014 had another surgery. I 2016 it came back again. They used CyberKnife Radiation surgery and killed the remaining tumor. I have to be on special medication because I have a non functioning pituitary gland for the rest of my life.
You got this!!! Thanks for sharing. Best wishes

Mine is 6mm I go get mri on Friday
Thank you for uploading your videos on this ❤ you’re helping the community cope better we aren’t alone and you’re not alone ❤️
I had the same problem, I had the operation 12 years ago and have been fine ever since, I live in Canada so everything was free of charge. Hope everything goes smoothly for you.
I’m so glad you’re fine now,’ may I ask how big it was before it was removed ?
Hi Jesse, How are you doing? I also have a pituitary tumor that was operated on 2005. Every testimony I listen to is exactly like mine in many ways but our symptoms are a little different. First and foremost, it took us a long time ( mine took years) to finally get a Dr to do the right tests to find out what was wrong. Your eye Dr was spot on. When I finally convinced my Primary Physician that something was wrong with my eyes he asked me if I wanted to see an eye Dr. I went to an eye specialist and they took pictures of the back of my eyes and didn’t see a thing. They diagnosed me with glaucoma and sent me home with eye drops. That was just one of the tests and medications I had to take during my quest for the right diagnosis. Finally, I was experiencing breast tenderness so I did a breast self examination and called my Dr immediately when the exam didn’t go well.I was producing breast milk. I was 52 years old!!!! They were unable to get all of the tumor and I still have hormone problems and still have the tenderness. I feel the same way as you do in that I have my priorities in a little better place since I got the tumor. Thank you for sharing your story. Susan
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor about a month ago. I had a lot of the same symptoms you described. I at least know I’m not alone.
Can i ask how large your tumor was. Im having surgery February 3rd. Also i hope you continue to heal.
I can’t remember the numbers but it was about the size of a large grape or an average size grocery store strawberry. Good luck with your surgery, I hope everything goes smoothly.
Food stamps can also help

Hi, I'm going through similar symptoms as you. Going for an MRI to check for pituitary tumor January 1st 2025. I was wondering if I got this from taking so many medications for behavioral health. Were you on meds?
Do you have a lot of issues with light now? I got my tumor out but I have low vision now that’s affected worse by light

I’ve had mine since 2016
Enjoying your videos. With doing some searching out information on pituitary macroadonema, mine could have been there for 58 years. My first could be symptom memory is going to the Dr. at age 10 for anemia. There are many overlooked symptoms of this kind of slow growing tumour. I do think that stress, and as you said trauma exacerbates it’s growth.
Thankful to be watching your videos. Have not found anyone that is having the same journey. I was blessed that my double vision only lasted for 4 weeks after the surgery. Humour and positive outlook is what keeps you going.
You are doing a good job taking one day at a time. I find that God does provide what you need when you need it. Being grateful for the small miracles. Finding a septic pumper, my winter coat and yes finally found my winter boots. All my stuff I had to pack in totes and boxes to move. Hang on to the little blessings. Finding your videos is a blessing in my pituitary tumour journey.
You are doing so well in your recovery and keeping active. Thankful for your mom’s help. Keep up the good work and being patient with yourself. Endocrinologist told me at 3 months the the fatigue is normal.
Sorry to hear that you had such a long and difficult surgery and hospital stay. My time was 5 hours and hospital stay was was 32 hours. Chapman’s chocolate popsicle was my go to.
So sorry to hear about your vision loss. Sounds like you had much more complications than I. Feels so much better when the ENT removes the stints.
You have had way more appointments than I did. I faced the same as you needing some place to live during my 6 week recovery. Luckily the first 4 weeks I stayed at a sisters place that was empty and my youngest sister stayed to look after me for the first two weeks. No lifting, no bending, no nose blowing and only open mouth sneezes. My camp isn’t suitable for winter living, so I am doing house/pet sitting and have to find places to stay or board when I am not house sitting. Support of family and friends is the key.
Shocked to hear about your accident. Glad everyone is alright.
I am loving and learning from your videos. I’m in the process of seeing a naturopathic Dr. that does bloodwork to see what foods I should avoid. Sadly my bloodwork got stuck in a currier’s warehouse and I now have to wait till January to get it re done. Looking forward to the rest of your videos.
It was my family and friends that I am so great full for getting me through the first part. April is my 6 month check up, if needed, they will get me through the next chapter. I am great full to have found your videos today. Dec.16th, 2024.
I love all that you have said in this video. It seems to explain my path and similar avoidance of chaos, seeking nature, enjoying quiet isolation.
Like you, my only concern has been my vision.
Hi Jesse, I am now on video 5 of your series of videos on your Pituitary Macroadenoma. I will continue to watch all of them. This year I have had the same diagnosis. My vision issues I noticed in March. May 27th I got the result from a CT scan. So very swiftly things happened, MRI, bloodwork, eye appointment. July 12th I had my surgery, first 4 weeks of recovery had double vision issues. Just turned 68 last month. Life’s bumps take place. I am currently living in my camp in the woods, have power, but no running water, Kitchen or bathroom. But every day I am happy and grateful to God for all the blessings I have. I am very much looking forward to watching the rest of your journey. Best of luck. xoxo
My ex husband was diagnosed with a Macro pituitary Benign Tumor… Prior to his diagnosis, he would have severe headaches, aggressive and bouts of Rage. The pituitary tumor was discovered by having an eye exam. He didn’t have any side vision. He had his pituitary gland totally removed… He needs to take human growth hormone, testosterone and levothyroxine for the rest of his life.. Sadly, his personality never recovered. He is Not the same person who he was prior to about 5 years before. Sadly, it caused a Divorce and everyone involved is having a difficult time with his personality. None of this is his fault. There’s not enough information about dealing with permanent brain damage from Pituitary Tumors….. Very very sad 😢
<3 beautiful story
I understand feeling like your healing should be farther along. And I didn't have brain surgery. But, I can tell you are giving yourself a break as much as possible while still challenging yourself. Continued prayers that it will just take more time for everything to improve.
You have gone through so much. It's heartbreaking to hear, yet, good to know just how touch you are. Keep on healing!
Omg, the more I read about the symptoms this condition could bring, the more things click in… I’ve been experiencing all of the above for a couple years now but what’s throwing me off is that I’ve been experiencing changes in my vision, they’re temporary but keep coming back (hemianopsia). Doctors keep telling me they’re migraines since I’m young and refuse to do any tests. I have never heard people losing their vision due to migraines and sincerely, it’s scary, so I’m heading out of the country to get private care to get as many tests as possible to get to the root of the problem. I hope all the other symptoms are just coincidental and that it’s only migraines, if that’s the case, I’ll take the diagnosis but at least I tried my best to look for help.
Wow great visual video for us that don’t quite get what your vision is actually doing!! So happy that everyday is a little better! 🙏❤️
Yes! Thank you!
I was just diagnosed with the same tumor and will have surgery this week. It is large. Sight is very blurry and have hard time walking. Headaches, etc I figured I had a tumor two weeks ago but laughed it off. Before long it was so bad I was an er and quickly put me in with neuro surgeons.i will up date after surgery Frank Kollar, 77 years
How many can, ? My sis just got it, 1.5cm on mri
I have this. They are waiting and watching it cus I can still see good. I dread if I have to go for this. Are u on any hormones now ?
I lost my right side vision on the left and right side
You are in my thoughts and daily prayers . Hopefully time will continue to improve your eyesight.
Just curious did you have your edrenaline pump real easy from your tumor? I I think I have a tumor but somedays my adrenaline will pump almost all day and cause extreme anxiety.
Yes I did and it was really bad. The smallest things would trigger it and it would take hours to calm down. That completely went away after the tumour was removed.
@JesseSchpakowski thanks for the reply. Just a snide remark can make my adrenaline pump and I'm talking ready to throw down and fight. I hate being like this because this isn't how I used to be. I feel sorry afterwards but not until it settles down but like you said it can take quite a while.
I havnt noticed much in my eyes except once in a while I will see something in my periferal vision like I saw a mouse run by or something like that.
I also have really low testosterone levels.
@@TheJohndeere466 It sounds like we're dealing with a lot of the same issues.
Perhaps you could spend the next 10 years having fun and enjoy taking photos. I know it’s hard right now but I believe that you can overcome this and be much happier than you have ever been. Stay positive.
I am truly sorry you are going through this and having to make these decisions. I think if you enjoy taking photos again making cards and post cards of your photos would be great and showing them on TH-cam too
