omg I love this so much! I'm being so indecisive about my planner for next year. I'm really loving the idea of what you're doing here, but I'm worried I won't have the energy or time to decorate more often than not. But I'm *super* inspired by your "beating perfectionism" approach! Two things: how do you use the weekly spreads in the Hobonichi? I need a weekly spread to be functional, and my brain doesn't super enjoy the vertical layout, which has kept me from getting a hobonichi cousin. Second thing: have you heard of Stickii club? For like $12 a month they send various sticker sheets from different artists in a theme along with a bit of stationary or ephemera. I really enjoyed it while I was doing it. Thanks for sharing!

Hi there, always lovely to watch your videos. I haven't created a video in more than a month or watched any tarot videos nor practiced tarot. This is the first video after a month. Something happened to me when I got my last 3 decks of which 2 I returned and 1 I am passing on to my friend. I don't understand but I feel like I have toomany decks and that overwhelmed me so much that I stopped recording and practicing tarot altogether. I really want to return but atm just can't do it. Its hard to explain... maybe it is a tarot burn out? 😅

@@Tarotismagic It happens! I also experience ebbs and flows in how often I read tarot, and how often I watch tarottube. I’ve experienced tarot overwhelm too, such as a) when I have so many decks I want to focus on, and feel stuck in choosing between them, and/or b) when other things in life feel more pressing or interesting right now than doing tarot. I think Dawn Michelle Tarot has a video or two on tarot overwhelm, if that’s helpful for you. If your mind & body are feeling like it’s time for a break and to disengage from tarot for a bit, that’s okay! The tarot decks will be here when you feel ready to decide what to do with them, as you focus on whatever else is calling your attention more for now.

dream vision tarot looks like a better, more complex version of the mystic mondays tarot (which was my very first deck). i've been contemplating getting rid of it because i don't like the artwork (tarot deck options are limited in my country's bookstores) but because it was my first deck i have the most experience with it so now the cards are so easy to read, and out of all my decks it's the one with the most definite, identifiable personality. i know exactly what readings to use it for and it is always so honest and straight to the point, i use it when i don't want any sugar coating at all and i need my prediction to be as accurate as possible. Seeing the dream visions tarot made me think of mystic momdays immediately, so maybe i will try to get my hands on that deck as a replacement for my mystic mondays

@@skj4559 Mystic Mondays walked so Dream Vision could run 😂 When I used to have Mystic Mondays, I felt they filled very different needs. Mystic Mondays was like a summery, moody deck (with its mix of bright and toned-down cards), and Dream Vision felt like a pensive, contemplate-universe deck. I enjoyed MM while I had it; I also found it direct and easy to read with. I dedicated a month to working with it in a Tarot in Practice video, then felt like I had “finished” reading with it, the same way I felt like I was done reading a book and wouldn’t really reread it. Dream Vision can definitely get pricey as it’s an indie deck - and the creator is selling the last copies now, i believe, with no current plans for reprinting? - so I hope you’re able to snag one and not break the bank!

Once upon a time I thought I'd have around 20 decks. A nice number, so I can vary which ones I pull from and not get bored. The I saw some more cool decks, and some more, and eventually I've come to the conclusion that as long as people keep making beautiful and well-thought-out decks, I'll want to bring them into my life. I am pretty ruthless when it comes to curating my collection, but even though I can look at most decks and go 'that's nice' without wanting to own them, my collection grows by 3-5 decks a year. I currently have 60 decks. In ten years, I'll own a hundred. I'm trying to make my peace with that.

@@reflectivetarot7612 Yeah, the past year I kept thinking, “Okay, I’m on a No Buy,” but like you said, there’s always more creators coming out with fantastic, well-thought-out decks. I’m on an indefinite Low-Buy rather than a No-Buy, to remind myself that I still want to curate rather than compulsively shop. My collection has grown to probably max 60 tarot decks at once; to cull it down to 45-ish is a great feat, especially since I’ve bought more than 20 decks a year since first getting started. We never know what our collections or interests in 10 years might look like; we’ll just enjoy our steady trickle of decks in the meantime while we’re enjoying :)

@@tangytarot I would hate to put my life on freeze and be forever beholden to the choices I made ten, twenty, thirty years ago. For me the key is the pace of acquisition: I want to give every new deck the breathing room it deserves, so I don't just buy it, flick through, and forget about it because the next shiny thing dropped. Applying a lens of mindfulness helped me to slow down the rate of buying: I have a process I go through onboarding a new deck (and occasionally deciding it's not for me), and I don't buy new decks before the old ones aren't integrated in my collection. No judgment, no pressure. I am fairly good at not spending frivolously (=I am broke) but I've also seen people for whom decluttering/minimalism has become an obsession, and who always wonder what they can kick out of their lives. Do two people really need five spoons? How many can be get rid of? In the end, now that i've bought them, keeping five or even ten decks until I'm _certain_ they no longer serve me doesn't make much difference to the house as a whole.
