I NEEDED this soo much. I've been journalling and have been wanting to branch out into art journalling... but I'm in paralysis. Starting and restarting... I just need to DO.
Yes, just DO! I recommend starting with what you have already, even if you only have pens or pencils to work with. As you start building a regular habit/routine, you may start seeing what you can add, like stickers, collaging from newspapers or "junk" around the home, or drawing or painting! Having a page-a-day planner definitely gave me some motivation to start.
This was such a gorgeous watch/listen, seeing how you use your beautiful collection is so inspiring, as were your points about breaking free from perfectionism, I’ll definitely keep those in mind with my own journals! Also your nails are amazing!!
Your journaling method looks awesome!! Are you planning to do the collection meets decks tag? I would love a tour of your fav stationary ✨ I only have two journals, a tarot journal and a catch-all notebook. I've been meaning to get a day planner though. Currently I have a little tear-off weekly notepad that sort of functions in this capacity.
I've got an idea for the Collections Meet Decks tag, yeah! It'll take me some time to flesh out the structure though. I'll film a lil showcase of my favorite stationery sometime, just for u 🥰 A tear-off weekly notepad sounds so satisfying!
omg I love this so much! I'm being so indecisive about my planner for next year. I'm really loving the idea of what you're doing here, but I'm worried I won't have the energy or time to decorate more often than not. But I'm *super* inspired by your "beating perfectionism" approach! Two things: how do you use the weekly spreads in the Hobonichi? I need a weekly spread to be functional, and my brain doesn't super enjoy the vertical layout, which has kept me from getting a hobonichi cousin. Second thing: have you heard of Stickii club? For like $12 a month they send various sticker sheets from different artists in a theme along with a bit of stationary or ephemera. I really enjoyed it while I was doing it. Thanks for sharing!
The A6 size I have doesn't have weekly spreads, so that's why I used a separate planner for my weekly overview. I'm sticking with this 2-planner system for next year as well; I don't like the vertical week layouts in the A5 version either. Sterling Ink's planners might be right up your alley though! They have a variety of sizes, and with pages for months, quarters, weeks, AND days! They also have options for vertical weeklies and horizontal weeklies! I'm sticking with Hobonichi for now because Sterling Ink's daily pages are undated, and I'm attached to the Hobonichi quotes 🥰 But that other brand/designer really tempted me. Stickii Club sounds like such a great chance to experience different artists' work! Thanks for sharing! 🥰

Thank you, Imogen! 🥰 I'm really happy with my planner/journaling habits this year!
Dang, I need you to overhaul my journal system. It is SO cute.
Join me on the Hobonichi train 🤣 I don't have a discount code but I have a bucket of enthusiasm 🤣

@@tangytarot Thanks! I didn't realize that Sterling Ink did horizontal pages. I'll definitely go check them out.
