well done on your results hope you had all your birds home
Well done lads. All the best for next week.
Really good trapping, well done. First race video of yours I've seen, new to the channel 😀 Looking forward to next week, congratulations 🎊 👏
Thank you, if the first bird trapped like the 2nd one did we'd of won the club, there was only seconds in it, 9 yards to be exact, but we'll get a high combine position with the first two birds
Great trapping …..hope more make it home for another go…..your BOP problem is really frustrating as once hit are always on the lookout
Lots of losses all over the combine yesterday, one fancier in a club up the road from us sent 40 and got 1 back
Hi do you race from your back garden ?
@michaeldoolan1723 yes mate, always have
Good returns. My dad had 19 from 21. His first race yesterday aswell. Good luck next week
Looking good mate
Hi, do you not film race day ?
@vickyseel2982 was abit rushed for time this week but next week I shall give it a go
@@heylflights4462 fantastic 👏 looking forward to it. Hi from Liverpool
It’s all about education as you say….so rather have a pigeon return instead of winning one week and losing the next
Birds and set up looking really good…..hope YB season goes well……unfortunately the dreaded hawk problem will get worse before it gets better
LOL! I called in a bird Tuesday that came here, his owner picked him up.. I went out today, which is Sunday, the bird was back. When he saw the carrier he beat wings in the direction of his home. He is a very young bird but it was like a switch went on that he remembered where he was supposed to go. Hope he makes the 35 plus miles.
You have a website address of universal pigeon products you mentioned in video?
Some good results there in your last few old bird races mate. Sorry on your loss of birds, wow good to hear you got the bird back after a year, as you say looks like it's been in another loft, shocking !!! Well done on your show wins great results. Good on your Mrs & Dad doing there bit to help you out mate. Good luck for the Y/B races mate
Ship your loft over to south africa i love it lol😊
Alright mate nice clean lofts birds looking well
@@RichardPym-et3si thanks mate
Nice loft do you race from your back garden?
@michaeldoolan1723 yeah we race from the back garden mate, it's tricky with the trees around us but we manage
You guys with the Falcons and us with the Hawks and Falcons too. Best of luck in YB'S season.
All the best mate
Enjoying your videos. I do have a question, if you separate a breeding pair and move hen to a new cock how many sets of eggs would you dispose of before you could be shore that the new mating was fertileizing the eggs?
We've never separated a hen from her cock halfway through a season, lots of people do, but we've never done it, but if we did we'd take the hen out of the loft for a week then introduce a new cock to her, then you'll know the next round will be fertilised by him
Ok, thanks for reply.
What are you feeding the young birds
50% barley 50% race mix mate
Glad to hear they are all back….birds need to range but can be worrying
Yeah mate, was very glad to see them return, just turned up out of nowhere, was getting abit worried they are progressing very well
Other birds all back after a further 40 minutes off ranging 💪
Do you feed them twice a day or just the once
Once a day mate they're flying well, doing an hour 20 most days
Im a newish starter & I just can’t seem to get mine going at all. I find there Hungry with just the once a day feed. Do you give them anything before you let them out
@jimmymartin7111 think it's all to do with what you feed them mate, we give ours abit more than an ounce each at this stage but barley is the key to get ybs going, it's all trial and error though, some feed twice a day but we found it best just the once, when they start training we'll start to give them less barley and more race mix but barley will be in the corn throughout the racing season just in a smaller percentage so its 50/50 atm when racing it'll be 25-30% barley
Going better now with adding the barley. Thanks for the advice. What do you use for canker worms etc
@jimmymartin7111 we always test our birds first before treatment, we've never had worms so don't treat for them, always use ronidazole or flagyl tablets for canker, and baycox for coccidiosis
Nice set up , good too see your wife getting involved Good luck with the rest of the season 👍🏴
Good idea to split the youngsters…they are responding well…..shame about not able to race old birds as often as you want
One bad race can wipe out small team fliers like us, it's all about picking and choosing races when numbers start going down
How much feed for your birds on a normal day, do you mix this seed yourself and how much do you feed before there in the basket
All depends on weather conditions for the race ahead but generally an ounce per bird, all our feed is bought in from corn merchants, we don't have the room to mix ourselves, they can tight handfuls every few hours starting early in the morning right up until 12pm then we stop, no exact measurements mate
@@heylflights4462 thanks for the information great video look forward to a few more as I'm still learning all parts to keeping pigeons as I'm hoping to start up soon 😀
@@tonypeters9763 nice mate, where are you from? The main thing I'd say is to keep your husbandry simple, don't make it too complicated as it'll take the enjoyment out of it👍
I'm in Liverpool I know there's plenty of flyers knocking about but trying to find where the clubs are near to me
Peace be upon you, my brother, God willing, God bless you
Do you not feed any barley ?
Yeah leading up to the first race we do, ybs are on 50% barley
What you feeding your young birds at the moment please
@@jimmymartin7111 50/50 barley and race mix👍
Great names for some of the birds from the history of this bird and his Hen, great looking bird. Good to put a face to a name / Voice. Keep the videos coming great to watch look forward to the rest of your season
Looks really good how long for the birds to get use to the new Trap
They're still abit wary of it mate, but alot better, they have all week before the next race to get better, which we're sure they will
@@heylflights4462 that's good news, how far is the race for your birds and how many you sending
@@tonypeters9763 our next race is Honiton 109 miles, be sending 22 all being well
Good luck hope all goes well look forward to the video mate
What’s the stuff called you put in the drinker
really nice traps they look great, How do the birds get on with the change to the traps mate ???
how much and how often per day do you feed the birds
Great video again on the food do you mix this yourself or buy this in ?
great video again well done really enjoyed it
I don't have any pigeons but looking to start up, could you give me some information on how I would start. been watching your videos plenty of information and great to see your birds keep the videos going really good, really enjoying them
another great video and interesting information on your birds
another great video nice set up and good information on the birds
Great video, great to watch number 10 building her nest good luck hope all goes well
Great video and Loft, what size is your loft ? not got any pigeons but looking at getting into the hobby, looking at getting as much information as I can
Succes
Very impressed with work in your loft….looks smart and I’m sure the birds will respond
Small curtain to adjust your light be a hot house in summer great job all the same
Never had that problem with the aviaries on there mate, in really hot weather it does get warm in there but the white cladding does reflect alot of heat
Nice❤️
Everything looking good looking forward to the next video 👌
Gud to hear the blackbird not many up here in Accrington due to the bops
Yeah it is nice to hear, bops are decimating the song birds along with our sport, and it's just allowed to happen its shocking mate
Smart and organised….can you show birds arriving?
Yeah mate I'll try and get my tripod situated somewhere with a good view
Wish i can have your loft
The size of your perches plz
What sort of price is the big one of the 2 and size if you don't mind me asking
Just over £600 for the large one mate, 4ft long 2ft wide
Thanks bud
Condition seems to be very good (drops, ...)
That aviary looks amazing. I like that its well built, easy to clean and functional.
