I stared racing pigeons with my dad back in 2016. I was 14 at the time, than during corona I quit for a few years, there was no flying season + I had gotten other intrest. This year I’m rejoining my dad again and I am more excited than ever. My dad didn’t sit still in the last years and we both want to win. But the main advice or opinion that I want to voice is that, my dad never forced me to partake I think you can not force this on someone they have to get the chance to experience it by themselves. Plus what is more fun than seeing you’re birds fly over you’re head. I don’t know any other pet you can just release and it will return to you no matter what. I think that is the beauty in it for me. This is one of a kind, plus spending some time with my dad while working hard to get the same goal is probably my most important reason. Other than the time and money it takes I don’t see any negativity in the sport, and those play a factor in every hobby. And just to end this very long comment… people are more stressed now than I think ever, maybe they should get pigeons aswell bc just bieng in the loft or looking into the sky is relaxing as F…
New to subscribe to your channel, fair play mate you’ve worked so hard to get where you want, absolutely love your set up, got some cracking birds you have, looking forward to your next video, keep it up
It depends on what racing you're doing mate, but during the moult add plenty more small oily seeds like hemp, safflower, rape etc to the mix, just ensures that the feathers come out lovley and silky, during breeding we make sure that the breeding mix has a good variety, always best to add two good breeding mixes together with a fat mix, so we have a 75kg bin, to that we add one bag of breeding mix, (versele laga start) and one bag of (versele laga best all round) which has a high protein content also, then one bag of (versele laga energy plus) fat mix which to us is important, obviously you don't have to do this, a good solid bird will rear a good strong yb on most mixes, this is just how we do it, and it works well, but after adding a fat mix to a breeding mixture you won't look back! All the best 👍
We get them used to the sound of the tin first, then when they learn the noise of feed time we'll let them out, as soon we shake the tin they'll know its time to come in
Nice to see the videos mor regular all ways good to watch take care
