hi great video keep them coming. im new to the sport will be racing young birds this year. But mine are down with young birds sickness. So im a bit down just now they have been coming nicely rom 26 miles. any help would be nice.
When you are saying 'breathing through keel' what do you mean? I have the flying vet pigeon health and management book next to me, and there are no respiratory symptoms that are described by 'breathing through keel'? Do you mean heavy breathing? When the pigeons have nice bright eyes, snowy wattles no mucous etc and exercising well there's not much to go on when it comes to looking for respiratory, however they are treated for it before racing and pairing up
@@heylflights4462 it's something I have found by myself but some times the pigeon will do it first off if it's scared but I found perfect fit pigeon will not
I pigeons had respiratory and when I pick them up they were breathing through the keel and when I treated them they started to stop breathing through the keel that's how come I found out it took a few years but I realise that was the problem and soon as I found that they breathe through the keel i treat them with respiratory and they will stop you might not believe me
@@heylflights4462 that what I have found pick a pigeon up in your hand keep it still and you will feel it breathe through it keel it shouldn't if it fit and healthy try it if you don't believe me then don't worry about it I'm just trying to help
@@heylflights4462 do you have the family tree and saw them all mate ? Not here to argue… but you need to be open minded with the family tree higher up … 👍
Two blues can not bread a red no matter what the heritage is, red is dominate over blue so can not be hidden by the blue colour birds, the red cock is almost definitely the father, only other options is a recessive opal which can sometimes mimic red or the indigo gene can sometimes produce a red looking bird

Sorry on your missing birds

A fit healthy pigeon should not breathe through the keel

I disagree with you on the colour, I’ve got birds breeding different colours to their parents etc
There is no possibility that two blues can breed a red cheq and a mealy with no red based birds in the gene pool
