I grew up in the era of split screen lan parties. I miss those days

A year later and this is still a problem absolutely insane, it eases the pain seeing those overwhelmingly negative reviews tho 😂😂

We've had DJ nights at bars & clubs where we spin heavy metal and punk records while we have an Xbox set up and a couple of controllers with Doom, Quake, Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) and a few others are available for death matching/co-op play but we typically only get 6-12 people to actually play, young adults are too shy to play in front of people and they didn't grow up playing socially, they'd rather watch videos of gameplay on TH-cam then actually play games these days

on the game im working now i have plan to add split screen lan and online option my plan is to have multiple option to play multiplayer 1. play with up to 4 player on the same computer 2. play lan game 3. play online 4. play online or lan with and play up 4 player on the same computer. the idea is my game i will have the option to play up 4 player's no matter if play offline online or nearby network (lan) that mean i theory with 2 computer you will able to play up to 8 players. 4 on the one computer and 4 on the other computer. i personally know only 2 games that let you do that serious sam 1 and Jazz Jackrabbit 2 i don't say the are not other game i say i don't know other game that let you play with network and split screen at the same time. local multiplayer are fun wean you have someone to play near by but this the problem the times you don't that person to play, online you almost always have some to play agent's but usually you dont have communication also the other problem that in the order to play online or lan you have to have multiple devices. with combining local multiplayer and online/lan game you have the benefit off both world. do you wand to call you friends to play to gether or have family members you play with multiple people on the same device, some and also you able to play online in the order to have more or in the order to play with friends or family members that is in another place.

I feel they should have kept advancing them maybe by know we could have had better split screen wider or bigger screen but ig not

I remember when you could play cod and ur friend can play as guest now everyone has to pay for an account whats the point of the system being able to use more than one controller at once I should've never bought two more controllers

I’d like to recommend some great splitscreen games for you all. Rainbow six vegas 1 and 2 both great. Halo mcc collection is fantastic with several games in it, black ops 3 is great, call of duty world at war is great. Bw

It's sad to see split screen die sure it's more confident to just have the console now but split screen has its own charm

I remember my friend being so brutally owned in Halo that he threw his controller in the hard glass screen which in turn ricochets the controller off the screen and hit his forehead. In Halo we would take out our shields with frag grenades and run towards the bases in the Blood Gulch map. Then you'd throw another grenade and blast yourself into the hatch ontop of the base.

The claim that there isn't demand for it is unfounded, there's no evidence that there isn't demand for it, Millennials are passing 40 and a lot of us have kids and family we'd like to play with. There are multi generation gamer households now, so the claim that no one wants to be able to play in the same room is asinine. The fact that games are designed to funnel players into micro-transactions explains the real reason they killed Split Screen. They don't want people sitting on a couch together enjoying their games, they want people isolated and alone in their room where they can be bombarded with ads to spend more for a $60 game.

I was raised in a boarding school, and I was the only kid with a ps3 so we got together and played on the weekends. It was actually amazing! Splitscreen was the best part of it. I remember saving money and buying a new controller so my roommate can play with me.

Blizzard doesn't care. This is why no one plays their games in our region.

My favorite dev team is definitely re-logic and capcom both Terraria and capcom game(mostly monster hunter) are what make my life fun not only it has one of most memorable moment I ever experienced ,my favorite music. It also what make me meet one of my best friend and make my school life enjoyable and I decide to study coding because of it. Thank you re logic and capcom

As a Game Developer myself, I can say split screen isn't nearly as hard to develop as online multiplayer. I would say it is at max, 1/5 of the effort.

On the other hand, by playing locally with friends, you can motivate them to buy their copy of the game after they tried it, and so they can also do local multiplayer with their family or friends. Local multiplayer does not need to replace online play. It adds to it!

I would like the Death of listing Shared Screen games in lists of Split Screen games so I can search properly for my loved Split Screen games.

Rockstar would be S for me but their hatred of the modding community drops them down to D for me

Wow... its crazy that a call of duty video game from 2009 has local split screen but a decade later local splitscreen is extinct as if it was a problem?! Dude so the executives basically huddling together saying *Oh yes make the consumer purchase two game systems if they wanna play split screen with their children under the same roof*

Honestly, the only problem Rockstar seems to have is that most games that they make always have a huge portion of content that was cut from the game, content that would make said game 10 times better. Other than that, they are by far the best game developers on the market, since there is not a single Rockstar game that failed or that didn't go viral.

What I’m more surprised are how some gamers, not devs, are so against split screen. You could see these kinds of people on Halo discussion boards on Waypoint and Steam discussions. They give these technical reasons like “oh it’s just gonna be too intensive” and other tech nonsense. Why is that a consideration. It’s not these guys who are programming the game. It’s something game devs should be able to figure out and optimize. And some games ported to PC already had that feature in the console version: I.e. halo cod borderlands lost planet 2 resident evil 5 etc. Why can’t they just bring them back? Some just say to just buy another copy and play it online without considering, what if people physically came over. I only got one TV. And surely my friends aren’t keen on packing their own PCs to their car. “Oh but PC players never have the need to play locally”. Yeah but don’t you have occasions when people come visit? Wouldn’t it be nice to play with people who you haven’t seen for a long time without having the hassle of setting up multiple station? Anti-splitscreen are robbing themselves of a feature that can be available at anytime and easily setup ASAP. Because of this “PC players never need to play locally” mindset, companies are able to get away with locking the feature away so they could sell more copies or subscriptions (I.e. Halo MCC). Even if you think you’ll never use it, wouldn’t it be nice for it to be available for other people to use it? And this “oh it’s nostalgia” argument. I don’t care if I’m overeating on memberberries. I can grow more of that and have a blast. I know there are games that already support local play like Fighting games, party games, and sometimes racing games. But it’s probably not something me and my friends would always want to play at that moment. I am infinitely grateful for talented modders for making programs like Nucleus Coop, Borderlands 2 Split screen mod, and that one guy who made a split screen mod for L4D2 on the workshop. They are truly saints. Not too long ago, I was able to grow more memberberries by playing ResiEvil 5 COOP with a friend through Nucleus COOP. It was really nice. In no ways of disrespecting these talented people, I shouldn’t be needing a third party program to play Split Screen. It should be available from the get-go.

it may not be a sibling now that I'm older but my partner and i still want to enjoy some together time while being in the world of gaming and buying 2 gaming platforms for 1 household on a tighter budget just doesn't make sence if one is a casual gamer and doesn't play often and even less so if they play only coop.

DEFINITELY READ THIS IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING WITH THE POSTPAID PHONE NUMBER... If you all struggling with this major issue i randomly found a work away from it? But i wouldn't know now how to link it onto steam. My alt account has been made as of Jan 2023 And it works perfectly fine... On console all i did was provided strictly on the email nothing else then never touched it for a solid month. Then got back into it and it works. No Authoricator, no change of region, no phone number added. I think just an recovery account. I now just need to find a way on how to link it to steam and being able to play my alt account because i recently got a pc and ive been wanting to play pc lobbies without a Cronus zen... Why need one... Because i want to be able to also be the one with a mnk... With my other pc buddies... It sucks being the only one to be put in pc pulls with no mnk support. Your reactions are much slower compared to theirs and you get decimated. I want to experience the pc overwatch 2 but i can't if the account cant be linked and not wanting to let me play on steam. If anyone can think or find out a work away from this situation I'll be glad for some additional help details. I find it wild they decided to add only heavily dedicated ow players and not smurfs... Smurfs arent a huge problem. Ideky for them smurfing is a big no no... I dont see the issue because they dont have cheats... And they decided to add bp is so funny for those players so... Do they not their money? They even have trouble on their tournaments smurfing would definitely help their issue 😂

I agree with most of the video but I gotta say that WW2 was nowhere near being the fight of “good vs evil” There’s one clear worse side but the game does a great job showing that our side aren't heroes. And by all you said, you proof that too
