based on the videos I watched, I gained knowledge on how to formulate research questions, like quantitative and qualitative and now I learned how formulate a mixed method research questions. I understand that combining the two approaches can help to fully understand the research problem that can't explain just using one approach.
based on this video I've learn that making a qualitative research questions it explore and can Identify new issues or questions to allow us to understand new insights. I also learned regarding the characteristics of qualitative research questions one of those is it is open ended it doesn't considered that answer of yes or no unlike in quantitative research because ur respondent explain or express their answer in question.
in this video I've learned that making or formulating a quantitative questions, is that it needs to be specific and clear and etc there's a lot of characteristics of very good research questions that can help to guide or research questions. I also learned the difference between descriptive research questions and inferential. like in descriptive there's a lot of characteristics and you can use survey while in inferential question it seek to answer the relationship of the two variables .
I've noted that research questions should be based on general objectives that represent the research title. In this video, Doc Lyn also reminded that demographic profile is not that necessary, unless it is needed and is crucial to know in the research.
I learned that before you can make a research questions, you have to seek or find theory to relate to your research first, and then, you have to make the theoretical framework to proceed. But, while making a research questions, you're not supposed to make it the way you want it, you also need ethical considerations.
I learned that qualitative research happens to explore perspectives and experiences. And with that, this method approach is flexible wherein it allows changes in the research.
Before this video lesson, I thought that using qualitative and quantitative methods means it's a mixed method. I just learned that a multi-method approach is a thing and possible, where you can separate quantitative and qualitative questions to get the data you needed. I also learned that you can use qualitative data to support your quantitative data and to fully/ and deeply understand the data that you've gathered.
I used to think that using both qualitative and quantitative methods meant it was a mixed-method approach, but I learned that it could also be a multi-method approach. I’ve also learned that if you start with quantitative research but need a deeper understanding of the data, you can use qualitative methods for deeper understanding
I learned that mixed methods research questions use both qualitative and quantitative approaches to provide a more complete understanding of a topic. This method helps researchers gather both numerical data and detailed explanations, making the study more comprehensive.
I learned that in qualitative research, the focus is on understanding people's experiences and perspectives through open-ended questions. While quantitative research questions are focus on statistical analysis or numerical data
I learned that the Statement of the Problem has descriptive and inferential questions. Descriptive questions describe something, while inferential questions look for patterns or relationships.
I learned that qualitative research questions are divided into central and sub-questions, where the central question focuses on the main inquiry of the study, while sub-questions help break it down into specific aspects.
I learned that in creating an SOP or research questions, it’s important to base them on a existing theory rather than just making up questions. The theoretical framework helps guide the research process, making sure the questions are meaningful and connected to the study’s purpose or research title.
This video effectively explains how to formulate both quantitative and qualitative research questions by carefully evaluating your theory. It also clarified that including a demographic profile in the SOP is not always required unless the theory specifically demands it.
I learned how to create clear and focused research questions for both quantitative and qualitative studies. It also helped me understand the importance of aligning research questions with the study's theory and overall objectives.
After watching this video, I’ve learned that the research questions always came from the general objectives that is representing our title, and because of this video it makes making a research questions easier to do. And also that making a research questions must be based on the research desing of our paper.
After watching this video, I’ve learned that mixed-methods research questions provides both breadth and depth understanding, commonly the nature of mixed-method is comprehensive exploration, it addresses the “what”, “how”, “why”, of a research problem. I also learned that the integration of both quantitative and qualitative elements, allowing researchers to address research questions from multiple dimensions.
After watching this video, I've learned that qualitative research questions is that they are flexible and evolving, they can change as the study progresses, and designs are not rigidly fixed from the outset compared to quantitative research questions.
After watching this video, I've learned that you cannot proceed to to your research questions unless you are done with your theoretical framework, And i've also learned that pure quantitative research requires clarity, specificity and a strong variables. Also the theoretical framework is where the variables came from.
thank you doc lyn, for giving time and stressing out about antimicrobial resistance it is a global threat misusing of antibiotics and not following physician advice may result to resistance in antibiotic and the worst-case scenario antibiotics will no longer effective to all of us, that's why we health care professionals strictly condemn improper use of antibiotics. may the viewer enlighten about the given example as to what problem may we encounter if we are abusing antibiotics.
In this video, I understand that theoretical framework provides the foundation of every studies or research, which helps the researcher to identify the exact problems or gaps that need to be addressed. It can also helps us researchers to identify on what certain phenomena or issue that our study will contribute to, so the study will be clear to its purpose.
Salamat ma'am
You are welcome, i hope the other videos can help you too 😊
This video explores the often-overlooked importance of kindness in the workplace. It challenges the misconception that being kind equates to weakness, arguing instead that respectful behavior fosters a positive and productive work environment. The video's concise presentation and relatable examples make it an accessible and valuable resource for anyone seeking to improve their workplace interactions and overall professional effectiveness.
Through this video, I learned that using both quantitative and qualitative methods doesn't always mean it's a mixed methods approach it could also be a multi-method approach, where you separate the quantitative and qualitative questions for different research problems. When both methods are used in a research question, like collecting data through surveys and then conducting interviews, the qualitative data helps explain the quantitative data. This provides a deeper understanding of the problem and makes the findings strong valid.
I learned that there are significant differences between quantitative and qualitative research questions. Qualitative research questions explore people's experiences and viewpoints through open-ended questions, allowing flexible and detailed responses.
Based on this video, I learned about the characteristics of a very good research question in a quantitative approach. I also discovered the differences between descriptive and inferential research questions. Descriptive research questions focus on observing and detailing characteristics or phenomena without establishing cause and effect, while inferential research questions aim to predict relationships between variables based on the observed data.
This video is really helpful in explaining how to create both quantitative and qualitative research questions using your theory by evaluating it carefully. It also clarified that it's not always necessary to include a demographic profile in your SOP, unless your theory specifically requires it. If that's the case, you can add it, but if not, there's no need to include it. Before, I didn't understand the role of the demographic profile in the SOP, so this video really helped me understand it better.
I learned from the video is that research questions should be based on the study's theoretical framework, ensuring alignment with the study’s objectives and methodology. Another key takeaway is the distinction between quantitative and qualitative research questions, where quantitative studies use hypotheses and statistical analysis, while qualitative studies rely on central questions and thematic analysis.
I learned that mixed methods research questions integrate both qualitative and quantitative approaches to provide a more comprehensive understanding of a research problem. These questions can follow sequential or concurrent designs and require an integrated or hybrid question that connects numerical data with qualitative insights. This approach enhances the validity and depth of research findings by combining statistical rigor with rich contextual understanding.
I learned that qualitative research questions are exploratory, descriptive, and flexible, allowing researchers to gain deeper insights into participants' experiences and perspectives. Unlike quantitative research questions, they focus on meanings, processes, and context rather than numerical data.
I learned that formulating good research questions in pure quantitative research requires clarity, specificity, and a strong connection to variables and population. The video also highlighted the differences between descriptive and inferential research questions, emphasizing that descriptive questions focus on observations, while inferential questions establish relationships and make predictions using statistical analysis.
