Nothing But Knives
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 6 ก.พ. 2021
We’re a pack of hill-born hoodlums who turned to alcohol and knife reviews as an escape from responsible day jobs.
We mostly talk about outdoor knives, but we carry folders and use kitchen knives every day, and have decided that our thoughts about these things matter enough to spend all of our time telling you what those thoughts are.
With backgrounds ranging from military, photography, and writing, and venturing from childhood mud-caked wildernesses to college, to disparate office jobs, and then back to the mud-caked wilderness, we sometimes have odd, but strong, opinions about the gear we carry.
We prefer to write those opinions, but we also have a few cameras and some ability to use them, so we decided to start turning our words into videos and appease the ravenous media gods who demand that all things must go to TH-cam eventually.
We hope you enjoy our work, but we mostly hope that you go to our website and read stuff.

Hi guys! I am very pleased, and I want to thank you for the very cool reviews about the knife of my design Metaproptizol from Kizer knives! In the comments to your previous video, I described the history of the name of the knife, you probably forgot about it. I'll remind you. The desire to name the knife - Metaproptizol, I had a long time ago. This name is taken from the book by the Weiner brothers "The Cure for Fear", it is fiction, with elements of a crime detective story, which describes the events that followed the accidentally created by a learned chemist, a cure for fear, which was named Metaproptizol. Two films were shot based on this novel in the USSR. This is a very symbolic name for a knife! It is a kind of allegory of the confrontation of human fear of the unbridled forces of wild nature! I understand that the United States does not like long names, but in this case it is a justified necessity!
i just ordered their newest knife "the beaver", i plan to wrap the sheath with paracord to make it horizontal carry on my back :) cant wait!
Here for Kelly, she is a brand of her own.
Kelly makes me change my type. The only reason to watch this video
By type do you mean type of knives?
Frankly, I'm afraid to like anything other than the Militaw....
It is the most popular Kizer fixed blade for a reason. Actually several reasons.
She’s pretty
You guys should do a Bark River knives review!
This is one of the most common requests, and there is no excuse for it not happening yet. We gotta get one done.
👁️👁️
Miller bros blades m 27 is a nice one 😊
Thanks for the heads up. Looks like a good one.
But can it open a beer bottle?
We'll do some more tests and get back to you on that.
I want Kelly 😍
Unironically, your knife reviews are both, entertaining and informative. Also, I'm here because of the thumbnail ngl.
Un-ironic comments are a rare commodity here and we appreciate the hell out of them.
Most beers come with a twist off cap these days dude, unless you brew and bottle your own, lol!👍
Scrimshaw does not use twist offs.
The Metaproptizol is discontinued now which sucks.
This is a direct result of the terrible name. Such a bummer.
Not just a shorter Z9, but a far less bullet proof tang structure. The ZT9 should never have been discontinued, though it was bloody expensive even 13 years ago (if you could even find one). Somewhat modified in purpose, the ZT9 would still be the champion of knives, boat anchor or not. It was a hellish brute of a knife.
Nothing to argue with in this statement.
Why was I expecting y'all to include the Kizer Variable (wharncliffe)? Lol
It does look interesting.
Beautiful girl.. Oh and the knifes as well
😂😂
This video was way more fun than i expected. I have a baby I edc for work, and it's amazing. Great work and good to see testimg beyond carrying.
"More fun than expected" was exactly what we were going for. And the Baby is one of the coolest Kizer fixed blades. Love hearing someone is EDC-ing it.
Good knives
Ahh yes, the always popular “Top 6” list. And I’m here for nothing but knives.
Thanks for hanging out.
I'm agree we you guys that the Little River Bowie is the Best Kizer fixed blade but you should also have to try the Lancer fixed and the Sequoia fixed
Both good fixed blades. We especially liked the Sequoia.
How do you find such rare things? Great knives too
Fortunately, the Kizer knives in this video are all still available and easy to find except for the Little RIver Bowie.
Yeah she helped a lot I have some really good knives I also I have some really good hatchets
I would love to drink with you guys and talk knives 🔪 😂, great vid!!!
Yea we need to figure out a way to to do a proper live show, so this can happen.
What booze are you hitting?
It's a machete. Just carry a machete that's small enough you can also use it to cook dinner with, but big enough you can process wood with.
Why are the guys talking? Kelly needs her own channel. No conversation needed. Just Kelly handling knives.
This is a popular opinion.
Why were the guys even on camera? The girl was the star. She looked great with every knife.
Yes, leather, real leather, sheaths, bring them back. Please. I picked up the Smolt in 3V last week, arriving soon.
Well said. It would be nice to always have a leather option. The Smolt rocks.
she is always welcome at my camp site!...or anywhere else!
Hi guys! Thank you for the positive and objective review of my knife! You are very cool! I would like to explain why the knife is called Metaproptizol, since the United States does not know about it. There is a wonderful book by the Weiner brothers, The Cure for Fear. This fantastic work describes the story of how one of the famous chemists, almost by accident, created a drug from which a person lost a sense of fear, absolutely from everything, and it had no narcotic or other side effect! This drug was called Metaproptizol. Several feature films were adapted from this work in the USSR. The plot is a scientific detective story, where dishonest people try to enrich themselves by taking possession of this exceptional medicine! I liked this fantastic idea, as a kind of allegory about the subject, in the form of a Metaproptizol knife, which can help a person get rid of fears in the wild; fear of wild animals; dangers of forests, water and mountains, as well as incredible forces of nature! I was glad to communicate, you have great subscribers! All the best to you!
Right on! Hi Adil. Thanks for taking the time to explain the name. It is an awesome knife. And we will continue to recommend it regularly. We hope to see more knife designs from you in the future.
It's a cool knife but that design sucks, the handguard will come loose & start rattling overtime. I've seen this flaw in that design so many times over the years.
That is a legit concern, and the main reason we usually avoid knives with handguards.
I have 2 inexpensive Joan Chen Chinese Chef's knives that I think were like 35 bucks back in the early 90's . I havent tried them outdoors but I have absolutely abused them and they just keep going . Whats handy is the shape essentially gives the knife 2 tips , and I use the one closest to the handle to poke holes in metal cans because it doesnt matter if it gets dull. Or use the back edge as a meat hammer. Maybe that'd be an interesting knife to test if had a higher end one .
Sounds like a tough beater knife which is great for outdoor cooking. Impressive that they have lasted so long.
Which Kizer knives suck terribly? Probably will never find out here.
We actually talk about a Kizer fixed blade that we didn't care for in our article. The video is a shameless ploy to drive traffic to our site.
@ love you for that reply, you mooks! 😂Thanks for that. Re: “a shameless ploy”?… Gotta love you for that. I will continue to watch for the good quality fun. Hilarious! 😂
no mention of the ZT6 but it was on your top five list?
The ZT6 was pushed aside by the Reiff F4. We didn't want to have too many high-priced knives.
@@nothingbutknives2286 ah that does make sense. I was curious on your take on it is all. I found the 6 well executed but very limited use cases. In face I found the ZT4 more useful when I got to try them both out.
We haven't tested out the ZT4 yet, but we need to. We did review the 0006, and we liked it, but the price is steep especially considering the issues with the sheath. If the ZT6 had a sheath like the much cheaper Demko Freereign we would like it a lot more.
So far one knife i'm going to buy is from your older video 1 yr ago is the SRK 5, but i will check some of your videos to see about anything else, just found your channel today, i will use your links because i did not know anything about these until i watched your videos, its only fair.....thanks
Right on! Glad you found us. Thanks for hanging out.
awesome video, i will have to check out those knifes,i'm looking for knives that fit this criteria
Right on! Glad you found our channel. Thanks for watching.
Missing a dlt white river ursus 45 3v
We like pretty much everything WRK makes. The Ursus is quickly becoming a classic, so we will cover it at some point.
@@nothingbutknives2286 also should just let the girl do the talking. your monotone is great because im a knife nerd but for others....yikes
@@S1NCER3-888 The video has over 300k views.
Yup, these guys know exactly what they are doing. If we all had beautiful ladies on our videos, we would have 10k views easily as well, but seriously, good video gentlemen and Madam..😅
😂😂 Thanks for watching.
Who.....is....sheeeee!?!? 😍
Is that a Turkish Kangal?
It is. His name is Henry. He is a lot bigger now.
@nothingbutknives2286 i was thinking about getting one of those, i have three rottweiler and they're getting old, what would you say the biggest challenge with the Kangal is?
I loved this review video!
Right on! Thanks for watching.
Dude needs to be careful after those brews might cut one's self 😅
😂Cuts are an occupational hazard, but this video was surprisingly blood free.
