Very talented girls. This song has one of the best intro and build ups what I heard in a while. The Japanese instrument could be a shamisen or a koto. I can not say it for sure, I am not a specialist for Japanese instruments. The classical first song to Hanabie reaction is "We love sweets", try it out when you still not that familar with them to get the full experience.

Hah-Nah-Bee-Eh (4 syllables, Eh like the e in the word error) (Hanabie = cold flower -> frosty spring weather, Hanabi = fire flower -> fireworks, Hannahbeeyay = nonsense spread by an idiotic PANIC troll) are simply fantastic. No other Japanese female metal band has such a high level of creativity in songwriting. Hanabie love to mix many other elements into their metalcore, and they do it masterfully, so that it doesn't seem artificial like many others, but always very fitting and flowing. The individual songs are often very different from each other, with this band it never gets boring. Next, we recommend the music video for the song L.C.G (Lollypop Candy Girl), which Hanabie wrote when they were still at school. It was the first time where many different elements were perfectly combined and thus the birth of Harajukucore. Another song that might be very interesting for you is the experimental masterpiece Spiderweb by the Japanese rock band BRATS.

Welcome to Harajuku-core! Here's some background info. Hanabie (ha-na-be-eh) named their style after the famous Harajuku district that inspires their look and sound. It is world famous for its street fashion, shopping, and youthful culture. As you heard, Harajukucore is an energetic mix of metal, electronic, rock, punk, rap, pop, and sometimes traditional instruments. In this song it's believed to be a koto and shamisen. The members are Matsuri - guitar, vocals, compositions. Yukina - growls/clean vocals. Hettsu - bass, chorus. Chika - drums and newest member. Sae is their previous drummer seen here in her last video appearance with the band. This is the song that blew-up and made everyone take notice of Hanabie. 2 million views in a few weeks. This is Hanabie's indictment of the Japanese office grind. Matsuri (vo/gtr.) is being buried under paperwork. Sae (dr.) tried to take a break on the roof, but the boss tracked her down. Hettsu (bass) is reduced to being a waitress and getting the boss tea. Yukina (vo) is being harassed by the boss. The ladies are then expected (basically forced) to go to a drinking party after work with the boss. The little "peck on the ground" dance is mocking the fact that you have to bow to superiors constantly making you look like a chicken pecking the ground. The high-pitched "osaki ni shitsurei shimasu" line from 'Pardon me, I have to go now' isn't Yukina. They hired voice actress, Aki Toyosaki, to do the line reading. She is well-known for voicing Yui Hirasawa in the anime K-On! which is about an all-girl rock band that forms in high school. Hanabie were very excited to get Aki for their song. Hanabie themselves started their band in school similar to K-On!. Though, they were performing Maximum the Hormone covers and other metal songs. They have a lot of songs about serious subjects but always deliver that message in an entertaining way. The singer is Yukina, a really strong growler and also raps in a high voice, switches very quickly. She is only 1 meter 49 cm tall. 1/8 Dutch. She is the author of all the lyrics. The guitarist and second vocalist Matsuri is the author of all the music, the bassist Hetsu is the author of their costumes, they are extremely unusual, and they change them at every concert. The drummer is Chika, previously a jazz drummer. They tour a lot, and are already famous in the USA

The idea of the song is that the Japanese culture of politeness has enabled assholes like the one in the video to take advantage of those making a living under them and people should just give such jerks the finger and walk away instead of turning the other cheek. Or melt their faces with death voice - that also works lol

I think it's important to note RM is actually a rapper, not a vocalist. He is singing a bit more in this solo album, but it's still something kinda new to him.

I've read interviews with the studio engineers that did the original - apparently, they had to fix Flea's bass lines as he was a bit out of time. And here Ale casually nails it sitting on that chair as if its nothing to talk about 💙 Notice Pau's brush work in the intro and the bridge? Never heard her doing that before - she, too, makes it look effortless. These three ladies are just so talented.
