Short Trail Run video with a GORGEOUS CUSTOM DEFENDER
I don't usually post something this short, so my apologies if it really is a little too brief, but I happened to go on a short hike and met up with a couple of guys doing a trail walk with their trucks.
This one custom Defender by Aaron (@aar0nsw0rksh0p on Instagram or @Aaron Soares on You Tube) is one that I have seen on Instagram before and just needed to be filmed.
Please do check out his instagram and You Tube page for more details on this really cool build.

Ultimate Tamiya XV01 Rally Build
มุมมอง 20K4 ปีที่แล้ว
A performance focused Tamiya rally build. What I like to think Tamiya would have created if their engineers had been left to do the ultimate scale and performance kit of a Lancia Delta. This is part one where i put together the chassis based off an Embie Racing carbon chassis set up as used by many European RC Rally drivers.
Vanquish VS410 Range Rover Mud Bath
มุมมอง 9074 ปีที่แล้ว
The VS410 Pro gets some one handed driving when I decide to take it down to the local mud hole. The chassis seriously is about the best trail truck chassis when combined with the Vanquish portals.
Team Raffee Defender Shakedown
มุมมอง 3304 ปีที่แล้ว
After some initial teething problems with the axles, a full tear down and reshimming has resulted in far more reliability. The Boom Racing chassis is by no means a performance oriented chassis but for the price it delivers more than enough for scale driving so long as you take your time to shim it properly. In addition, fiddled with the front links till I got the chassis sitting lower, but unfo...
Vanquish VS410 Range Rover Ultimate Build Shakedown Drive
มุมมอง 4564 ปีที่แล้ว
First shake down drive of my VS410 Range Rover. Model consists of fully upgraded Vanquish SCX style transmission and dig, VS410 chassis, MIP centre shafts and Vanquish portals, Vanquish Method wheels and Pro Line Hyrax tires. Body is from Club 5/JS Scale cut out with larger arches from Loops attached to fit larger tires for increased performance. Please see my other video for details of the bui...
Tamiya XV01 Overload
มุมมอง 16K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The XV01 os one of the most fun offerings from Tamiya, In this video I go through each of the rally cars that I currently have to give an idea of the variation between them and each of their intended uses- from (almost) shelf model that gets driven around once in a while, to recreational driver and ending up with an all out 8.5t monster built to go hard.
Axial SCX10.2 Range Rover Updates
มุมมอง 8904 ปีที่แล้ว
As I am still trying to get the Axial based Range Rover as realistic as possible, I have been lowering the chassis as much as I can... and it seems I have reached the limit of lowering which means some money may need to be spent yet again... but isn't that all part of the pleasure... and pain.
High Performance 1/10 Porsche RSR
มุมมอง 1.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
A (slightly) more detailed look at my Tamiya Bodied Porsche RSR which is resting on one of my old race 1/10 Awesomatix A700 touring cars (to me still one of the best touring cars ever made). The beauty of scale RC is that it has given me an opportunity to bring my old touring cars out of retirement. You could say that this car was inspired by the VTA race scene in the US but done more for scale...
The Ultimate 1/10 RC Performance Crawler Build
มุมมอง 2054 ปีที่แล้ว
Decided to build my dream spec performance crawler a little while ago. But knowing close to nothing about crawling or performance products, I embarked on what can only be described as weeks and weeks of internet research to come up with my idea of an ultimate performance build. Whether it really is spec'd correctly or not.... hmmm. I still feel I should go with normal straight axles rather than...
Realistic 1/10 RC Touring Cars
มุมมอง 2.3K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I have decided to convert most of my retired RC 1/10 touring cars to more realistic looking cars for recreational purposes. In this regard I have begun buying any interesting shells with good detail for mounting on my old RC chassis and this is proving to be a really satisfying way of getting realistic display models that I can actually have some fun with.
Replace Your Body Posts with Magnets.
มุมมอง 4374 ปีที่แล้ว
As I gradually move towards more scale realism, I have begun converting all my RC cars to using magnetic mounting rather than the old drilled holes and body clips. They really hold a shell in place and are so much neater than body posts and clips.
Vanquish VS410 Ultimate Range Rover
มุมมอง 1.2K4 ปีที่แล้ว
After my first Range Rover build based on the Axial SCX10.2 I decided to build a second Range Rover using a Vanquish conversion kit and a fully built SCX10.2 transmission with Dig unit and portals. I guess its my version of the ultimate SCX10.3.... without a single Axial part.

Team Raffee Defender D90 Boom Racing axles fixed and Krait Rims purchase
มุมมอง 9334 ปีที่แล้ว
After the initial failure of the Boom Racing axles (yes I have the joke that they went Boom), I have finally fixed them with a ton of shimming... i think. And with that i am focusing finally on the fun bit of modifying the beast for looks!!!!
Tamiya XV01 Heavily Modified Rally Nissan 240 Z Build
มุมมอง 5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Time for some rally action! Building a replica of the Nissan 240Z Africa rally entrant, the overall winner of the 19th East African Safari Rally in 1971, it also brought Nissan its second win in a row, after the prior years win in a Datsun Blubird. The bodyshell is Tamiya's fantastic lexan shell and the chassis is the robust and rally proven Tamiya XV01. We threw the option parts catalogue at R...

No links for the parts used? For example which shims were used in the transmission?
I have always loved RC cars with great scale realism and one of my early purchases was the Tamiya Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II AMG model based on Klaus Ludwig's DTM car. It has a superb body with injection moulded parts such as the front grille and rear wing to add extra detail. I also liked the fully detailed cockpit with driver figure. The chassis was the first generation TA01 and I built the car in 1993 with Acoms radio equipment. Everything still works perfectly. You can check out the car on my channel, BlackSeaRC, if you want to see it in detail.
Really good build, I want to mount a js scale range body to my vs410 portal, until now I wasn’t sure but I will now go for it 👍🏽
Just watched your Range Rover videos as I have just purchased one myself (great builds by the way), you say you got your wheel arch flares from a company called Loops but after a long search I can not find them, could you give me more info on the company as I might have better luck. Also what tyre size did you use on the blue Range Rover. Would really appreciate your help, many thanks
nice video , is that a tamiya colour ??
I'm buying a Tamiya Lancia RC 1/10. What parts will I need to buy to complete the assembly (radio, servo...)? Could you specify? Thanks
I bought the xv-02 and I'm putting a Trinity Mod XF-RevTech 5.5 in it. I race a Team Losi 22-x4 with a 7.0 mod Phenom and anything more that a 13.5 turn motor is too slow for me. The terrain I’m running on will be hilly and rough, so a mod motor will provide the extra power as needed. It's going to be a blast running a rally car!
I've just looked up the price of a slipper clutch for an XV-01..! 😲 🤯!!!!! A bit pricey to say the least.! £45 here in the UK... That's ridiculous...
So what happened? Can’t find the sequel!?. Nice looking car .
Merci many's😊😊😊
Love your Tamiya videos 😀 Have you stopped making these?
great build and lots of stuff I learned on this one. :) THank you!
Cool Video. Thxs for sharing
I just got the same trailer so this was very helpful. You’ve earned my subscription. Thanks and keep well.
very nice build, chassis and body!
great info on the build lovely work there
great video...ive just received my js range rover 3 door...although it says team raffee on the box....fab kit...will use some flory sticks to clean up the very slight bit that need it b4 washing the body...not looking forward to the assembly tho lol...
looks great...can you tell me what paint did you use and did you put any clear coat over it....lovely finish on it
Great video! I was hoping to replace the standard rear knuckles on my XV-01. Any advice you can give would be much appreciated. The standard knuckles take two bearings and a plastic spacer, so the GPM XV1238RST pokes out just enough for the pin that holds the wheel hub to be inserted into the hole. The GPM XV022 knuckles don't seem to work that way. If I try to use both bearings the CVD won't go far enough through the knuckle. If I only use the outside bearing the CVD goes too far. The plastic spacer from the stock knuckles doesn't do anything in the new ones. Am I missing something really obvious?
Excellent content! Can’t wait to see the next video! I was wondering about the battery compartment, it’s not that well protected don’t you think?
A very nice trailer. I ordered for myself. I like these extras for the pleasure of driving RC models.
Any ideas for slipper clutch. Can’t seem to find one.
Do you mind me asking which Tamiya blue you used?
Thanks, for great video. Any chance you can paste all parts which were used for this build?
Great trailer, my next one👍😀
Cool stuff! Subscribed.
Great content, subbed!!
Great update, definitely want to know how the stock axles hold up. Looking forward to the Krait rims too.
Would like to buy one from u a unpainted body that will mount up to the vs410 pro just Would like to paint it my self
Thanks! Didn’t know about the shims, good thing I’ve only redone one of my gearboxes so far. lol
So this is the vs4-10 with a rc4wd body? How did you mount it probably. I am interested in doing this.
Great videos man with excellent tips. Please make more videos. Would like to see the cars running.
Nice rig👌🏻you definitely need proline 2 stage foams, stock foams is way to soft for a heavy rig like that
It’s a great chassis .
Lovely lancers. I’m currently doing the evo 3 body . 👍
What is the tire size?
Great informative videos you have on your channel!! XV01 fan her as well! We've been using this platform for quite sometime now. Here is one of our many upcoming videos on the XV01 th-cam.com/video/NzJMRcAZ8HQ/w-d-xo.html We will be uploading more of these soon. I hope you can check it out too!
Any update on durability?
To date have had no issues at all with these axles but remember that this vehicle isn't driven too hard.
hi! how to calculate the perfect heigth of the body post?
You will need to do this by trial and error. Slowly cut the posts bit by bit until it sits right.
@@drivenbytaste1602 ok, thanks!
Halfaxis from Yeah racing is not good, buy cvd
Awesome! Just bought the Tamiya 911 RSR Carrera clear body shell to go on Kyosho MK2
amazing vid but background music is too loud :)
It’s a great chassis but for me was a horrible build. I really wish Tamiya would update themselves and make some small changes. The instruction manuals are from 1985, and could be updated and in colour. The way they package parts is just ridiculous. Parts bagged with other parts from different steps, it was frankly just frustrating searching all the time and it literally made no sense. Phillips screws in a kit that cost $400 Canadian. Tie rods are not pre-threaded and are dreadful on the fingers. If you happened to buy the Lancia body and managed to get the fender decals on without wrinkles or bends/cracks then consider yourself extremely talented and lucky. The decals are just a nightmare. I tried to provide feedback to Tamiya (Head Office Japan) but all they do is refer you to a Tamiya “Agent “ which for me was a small distribution center in Canada called Borgfeldt which is some mom and pop shop of 20 people. Borgfeldt was completely useless.
Why would you change your chassis design? My body fits perfectly to the chassis
Where can I get that chassis plate from?😍
EmbieRacing on Facebook
Hi I'm looking at buying the same team raffee chassis and d90 shell. What did you have to do to get the chassis to fit low enough and also to correct the wheelbase? I was hoping it came ready to fit without the need for adjustment?
In the end I got some shorter shocks and the key then was to clear the front pan hard from the chassis. This took me getting a new pan hard mount for the chassis from Boom Racing for the front axle.
@@drivenbytaste1602 thank you for this info! Was it the High Articulation Panhard Mount Set?
Nice!
hello, first of all congratulations for all the information given in the video.. I would like to know where I could buy the carbon frame kit (frame and upper deck). I would be very grateful
This video is really helpful because im considering buying the Team Raffee chassis but with the killer body D90 shell. Thanks!
