Spruce Moose Aviation' has been an incredible outlet for sharing my passion for flying, but as my own journey evolved, I realised that this channel needed to evolve too. That’s why I’m rebranding it into my personal brand-so that I can bring all areas of my aviation involvement into one place and the direction of the channel can grow with all of the activities I'm involved in.
Whether it’s the flying videos and tips you’ve seen here before, the business journey, or even personal updates.-I want this channel to be where I share it all. I understand that not everyone will care about every type of content, but that’s a risk I’m willing to take to keep things consistent, authentic, and to grow in a way that allows me to show more on the channel.

19:19 I'm intrigued on how your software works, in that, does it pay my business, or does my business pay for it. Is it designed to be an OEM software?
Hi, it's a subscription model. We have three levels ranging from $599 p/mth to $1499 p/mth (Currently). Which are all based on your specific business needs. In regards to the income the marketing system creates, that all goes directly into your bank account, regardless of whether it's generating $5000 or $5,000,000. To find out more, we would really need to jump on a Discovery Zoom Call. If you would like to do that, you can book a time here www.co-pilotconsulting.com.au/book-an-appointment
congrats and welcome back!
Thank you, glad to be back 😜
just sat the ops exam today and failed... :/ It certainly hurts to see that final score below 70% I got 64% today and four of my ten KDR's were take-off and landing charts and the others were a mix of weight and balance and a couple that I got wrong due to having an out of date ERSA 🤦♂
Just lodged mine for the first time 👍
Why do they ask for 10 year address? What are they checking? Criminal related or match it with medicare etc?
Thanks for this video mate👍🏼
cheers for breaking down the costs and licences better than anyone else 🎉
🍻, although the prices might need an update soon haha
Hey Tom hope you and your family are well. Its been a while since your last video. Im guessing you are a commercial pilot by now. All the best mate 🛩✈🛫🛬
Hi, where can I download the AIP ?
Which books are you studying from?
Hey, I used Bob Tait books
@@tommy-hass were they a good way to learn or did you prefer other methods as I’m currently saving up but hoping to get a head start on the curriculum
Are the rates same for international students?
Nice brief lesson... To the point.
Do you own a plane? Curious the financial side info. e.g. initial cost and ongoing maintenance.
I don’t. But I do know a lot of people that do. For various reasons. From my exposure I think the best way to own an aircraft is to have a commercial benefit tied into it. If it’s for private use you have to look at it like any other hobby you choose to spend money on. Be happy to see a lot of money disappear for the return on enjoyment. Also, aircraft condition and maintenance history play a huge part. You can buy “cheap” aircraft that will cost you more money to maintain or you can pay more up front for an aircraft that’s good to go for a longer time. The variables on aircraft ownership are endless so do your research and ultimately justify it to yourself, not other people. Those are my thoughts based on the exposure I’ve had to the industry.
@@tommy-hass fair point. Sounds similar to owning a car. Getting a PPL and rent while traveling to different places seems the most hassle-free way to start.
I'm stumbling across aviation TH-cam and i find myself in a video... 😂
You may not have a flight instructor rating but you deserve a credit for a great video.
Haha thanks Ram 🤙🏼
I am an ex crew from different airline 10 years ago. Am a PR now and has been accepted with the local Australian career. It’s been more than 6 weeks now and still waiting for my ASIC card but then still hasn’t verified by Auscheck. Don’t know how long and what is the potential outcome?
Common names especially of they match someone with a criminal hstory, people with little data on them or where it's harder to get criminal history it takes longer to process.
Thanks for sharing. I would not have been this brave to share this. I did pass my Performance on my first try but I did redo Law 4 times. So I know how you're feeling right now. I hope you've gone through with Performance now. Good luck on your aviation career. Up and onwards from now on. You've just gained another subscriber 👍
What is the best flight school you can recommend, please?
at what age can i start both the rpc or the rpl. im 13 but want to start learning early.
Hey Charlie, you can start either at any age. You can do all of the duel instructed lesson prior to turning 15 and once you’re 15 you can do your first solo flights. Then you can get your license at 16 years old.
Nice result mate! Question, in your KDRs you mention they're all from Part 61 MoS but it's not a permitted material? Thanks for the tips!
Part 61 MOS contains all on the information on what they can test you on in each test so when it quotes a section of u go to 61 it will show u there what the deficiency was
Thanks for the info! I want to ask regarding background check, will they call us by phone for someone who is staying abroad?
thats brutal man, as rough as can be. No KDR is the hardest part of this but your a fucking legend and inspiration for still having it together enough that you shared this with us I blew through all the CPL exams with pretty good results but Performance has been absolutely destroying me for nearly 2 months. Having my first attempt tomorrow though i really dont feel ready
Thanks brother appreciate it. Don’t cram tonight. You know what you know now and just get a good nights sleep. If you’ve been writing formulas down just do you best to memorise these and write them down as soon as you start the test, before looking at the first question. Good luck mate I’ve got everything crossed 🤞
@SpruceMooseAviation I passed 71% Your video helped with prioritising and what to expect. Thanks a ton, man.
Curious - how do your KDR's have deficits in Part 61 MOS but you cant take in the Part 61 MOS? Do you mean Part 61 CASR?
Have you passed it yet big dawg?
Video in the works brother 🤙🏼
Ah it happens bro, I got the same result the first time I sat RPL, it was deflating for sure but dont give up on it. This comment is 6 months down the line so I hope you've resat it and passed with flying colours.
Hey mate, how do you record audio?
Hey, I use the GoPro audio adapter and a splitter from Nflightcam 🤙🏼
@@tommy-hass Thanks! I fly JDC, IJD and NFR quite regularly too!
one of the worst places to get your RPL at the moment. Taxiing takes forever and the circuit area is very busy. better off learning in Camden or Warnervale.
When I was flying it was the old 2FC tower! If I recall the only other inbound call was at Prospect?
What does it mean by lodging your application by my company agent as mentioned in Veritas? Does it mean I can have all my process done and receive the card without lodging in person? Cuz I am a foreigner and currently not in Australia, can I get it all done overseas?🤧🙏🏼
Some companies are authorised by Veritas to do the verification process. They have access to a special portal to do this. This would mean that another employee at your work could possibly do this and you wouldn't have to go anywhere to get this done.
Nice video! If I were to suggest anything, the constant cut backs to you on the couch ruin the flow a bit...perhaps do it all in one and then let the video play out?
Hey Joni, thanks mate I appreciate the constructive feedback 🤙🏼. I did think that but to put 3 x giveaways and a paid promotion from Pilot train into one section would have made it way to long.
Great landing!
🍻
Congrats mate 🎉
Cheers mate 🤙🏼
As always, another great video. Congratulations on 1K subscribers. Production quality is getting better and better each time. Maybe I might get my Grumman up into the flight levels someday, since the oxygen requirement above 10,000ft is gone. Hope I haven't missed anything - have you passed CPL yet?
Hey Alex, great to hear from you mate. Hope the flying’s going well. Be careful of hypoxia in that Grumman, my guess is it’s far from pressurised 😂. Still have CPL to complete. It is what it is, I’d love to have it done but life’s been busy (in good ways) so I can’t really complain to much. I’ll keep the videos coming as much as possible 🤙🏼
love your stuff mate keep it up, wish you would upload more!
That’s mate appreciate it. Yeah I agree on more uploads haha. I love making the videos but it’s a passion project at the moment and falls in at about number 20 on the priority list unfortunately. I’ve got more content coming from AJPA and more flight school review videos being filmed next week so hopefully I can get those edited ASAP. Thanks again for the support, the more I get the more I can move videos up the priority list 😜
Well done on the 1k subs and as one of the earlier subs it is great to see you growing. I have one of the OG front and back tees from Feb of this year, l do enjoy the content. Keep it coming.
Hey Mark, thanks so much for the support. I really appreciate it. I love making the videos and I’m working on getting them done more frequently. Thanks for the merch purchase back on Feb. Your free Pilot Train book and OG shirt are all locked in 🤙🏼
@@tommy-hass 😃
Hey Tom its been a while, you are looking well. I remember not long after you started the channel you gave away same flight training books. Congrats on the 1000 mate. That was a very entertaining flight and maybe one day that could be you in the left seat. Looking forward to the next vid.
Hey Spiro, great to hear from you mate. Thank you 🙏
Awesome video! Loved it! I definitely recognise the PIC's voice... Lucas I think his name is. I went to the school right next door (Fly Illawarra) so would see the skydivers loading up all the time. Always wondered what it was like behind the scenes. Thanks :) And congrats on the 1000 subs! Great job!
Thank you I really appreciate it 🤙🏼
@@tommy-hass Cheers for the giveaway mate that's awesome :) Will you be doing more vids at Shellharbour?
There was a shipping charge issue with the 10 x books and shirts on shopify. It’s all sorted now. Just select FREE SHIPPING at checkout 🤙🏼
All good- more than happy to support the channel.
Thanks mate for sharing your great experiences as usual , loved this new and interesting content for the pilots and for other subscribers as well , I am coming for an hour on my logbook 😊
Hey Ram, thanks mate appreciate it. 🤞 for the flight
appreciate the giveaway! Keep the content coming.
No problem! Thanks for supporting the channel. Hopefully I can keep levelling up the giveaways 🤙🏼
It can be an absolute crushing exam! I went from 68% on my first attempt to 42% on my secound. Can’t agree more with what you said here and the tips and pointers. Just one of those exams you gotta put the time into and prep work. Best of luck for your next attempt!
The flights are producing really annoying noise over the residential area...... Why the training planes fly over the residential area ?
I’m about to do my flight review into Bankstown, this video is extremely helpful.
Oh great to hear. Good luck with it mate
haha, im usually always in NFR or JDC !!
Hey mate, I know I’m a bit late but I have a question for ya Can you get an ASIC card before getting a job at airport? Or do you need to have employment beforehand?
Can I ask why? But yes you can get a “job ready card” this is what it says on the ASIC website… “Some issuing bodies offer a 'job ready' option. You can apply for a card and have a background check before you have an operational need. Once you have a job, your employer will help you provide evidence of operational need. The IB can then issue a card.”
Jesus I probably shouldn’t have watched this the night before my CFPA exam! 😂 The similarities between my life and yours are uncanny. This one’s also my last CPL exam and I’ve rebooked it too many times. Take note guys/gals, when you don’t have a family and full time work this stuff is sooo much easier to punch out, take advantage of it! Wish me luck, I need it! Keep up the great vids. 🤙
This is 💯 haha. But we made our bed too 😂. Good luck! You’ll be fine mate, let me know how you go today 🤙🏼
@@tommy-hass cheers Spruce. Just got out - 90%! Absolutely buzzing but without doubt hardest exam I’ve sat and some cray-z 3 and 4 markers in there.
@auspilot6119 Congratulations mate! I bet you’re pumped. You’ll have to share your secrets with me 😆
@@tommy-hass Have you re-taken the exam yet?
