bacon! 🥓 is definately something westerners eat with our hands
how long can you keep fufu on the counter before it spoils?
It is considered acceptable in "etiquette" to eat ribs, fried chicken, corn on the cob and fried fish with bare hands. Also "finger foods'' like potato or corn-based or pita bread chips or vegetables are used to pick up dips with no utensil but the chip. Getting it on your hands in public is usually only allowed with children, adults use utensils or some form of bread to carry food to the mouth. What people do in their own home of course is up to them. Cow skin and other tannable skins are used for valuable leather .Bird or fish skin may be left on the pieces.
I like to eat pizza with my hands, as well as fries, fruit, bread and cheese etc. Basically anything that isn't messy or wet :)
Looks like a nice soup, Babatunde. Here's a video idea: since you've done a few recipe exchanges with your best friend Atomic Shrimp, how about you doing a price comparison video? Shrimp recently showed on his channel how British grocery stores' prices have changed over the years. So something similar with Nigerian stores' prices over the years since your recent shopping video.
Western food that is eaten with hands tends to be on the drier side - things like sandwiches. I think most Westerners don't really like their hands getting messy when they eat.
i love fufu!
There are a number of foods Westerners eat with their hands, but they're usually food that you eat informally. Well, except for "finger foods", which I always associate with fancy formal food like canapes. Actually, of course, finger foods can be anything you eat with your fingers, from pieces of vegetables to fried chicken or barbecue. Some of these are ambiguous with some people claiming you eat fried chicken with knife and fork, and others that you pick it up with your fingers, and yet others say it depends on where you are - in public or at home. But we don't often eat main dishes like yours. Chips and other items dipped in a sauce, sure, but that's not a full meal.
Thank you for posting Babatunde.
😋😋😋😋😋😋
It's funny how i kind of can imagine how this tastes like. I've eaten Eba (thanks to you), mackerel and red oil before Does it tastes a little like waterleaf soup?
3:18 lot's actually sandwiches, fries, pizza, burrito s, soup sometimes, hotdogs
Big up Babatunde
This is really cool! :D I really enjoyed this (came from the atomic shrimp vid) and I'll defenently watch more of your content in the future! <3
This perspective is really interesting. it goes against a lot of the general narrative that we have in the United States about scammers. Thank you
Those bananas look delicious, I’ve had ripe green bananas before but I haven’t been able to find them since.
Thank You for the video ! This looks delicious ! God Bless you ! 🙏
i love this content. its really important that recipes are shared far and wide and not forgotten.
I spot the coconut. I really hate dealing with them, but I feel that if I could find some way that I could get a coconut open and the flesh free of it, without risking injuring myself (like as in to some extent almost always doing something enough to be off putting). Though I'm not sure, as in Canada (rural on top of Canada) if the coconuts are worth the effort.
I'm surprised you heard the news about the California wildfires.
Well done! It really turned out well. Big pancakes like this would make a nice dessert torte, maybe with a filling between layers like cream cheese or whipped cream, with cinnamon or some maple syrup.
Definitely look over the safety and flammability of your setup, but check the brightness settings on your tv, you might be able to reduce power consumption
It amazes me how much this is the same stuff as here in the United States, it’s just got different stickers on some
Nice pancakes I will definitely be giving these a go ❤
Wildfires and the desert winds are natural in California, the disaster was caused by government negligence. Fuel was not cleared away and water reservoirs had not been built and water and tax money was foolishly diverted away for political reasons. If as I fear they simply build back without making sure precautions are made mandatory it will simply happen again. I am from Los Angeles and this coming disaster was perfectly predictable to people who know the area but greed and ignorant incomers wanting fancy houses created "a perfect storm" as they say. I may sound harsh but when I was in grade school there the arroyos and the local National forest burned all the time. They built new houses in the way of fires and they haven't built a reservoir since I was little, and that was a long time ago.
Love how you just casually have a coconut ,rare where I live. Beautiful flip.
Old Russin proverb: "The first blini is always a lump" But you nailed it at the first pancake.
I would add salt and honey maybe after or molasses and salt. Would likely hit it with cinnamon or cardamon also.
As someone from a western country I wondered why Mike was using a spoon with a fork - I would definitely be using a knife and fork for pancakes - if not only the fork.
If oatmeal is expensive you can make these with other cereals. Just cook it first, letting it stand until it is very thick. If you make the cereal for another meal you can just make a little extra to have for the pancakes. Oatmeal is a little sweet so you may want to add a little sugar or dried fruit like dates if you have them on hand. Without a little sweetener they might be bland, though as you just said you don’t like sweet things. You can also make them savoury, to use as a base for any topping. Better nutrition than white rice.
cut ur nails wtf
That’s what I would do put all the batter in one pancake. Good one!
Nice job ! Your pancake sure looks a lot better than Mike his first effort, haha.
I am so happy and glad that you did this video. Thankyou and God Bless you!
That looks beautiful!!! You cooked it perfectly. I can't wait to try it. Thank you from California (not near any fires, this time)!!!
That looks really yummy!
Very good pancake! The new stove is working well. And thanks for the well-wishes for California. We're still burning, but we'll get through this. Edit: No need to apologize for your knife skills. You're doing fine!
I'm back again .... this morning, we've both watched Atomic Shrimp's version followed by yours and we both agreed you did a better job cooking the pancake. (Don't tell him, lol! 🤣)
@@PlanetZhooZhoo thank you Zoozoo
Great work!
hi i’m here from atomic shrimp nice video
Yum! Hello from Australia
I thank God we in Ireland don’t have to worry about wild fires. My heart goes out to those who do. ☘️🇮🇪👍
That was a really good haircut. €15 for me to get it here in Ireland. I’m wondering why it took 30 minutes to do it? Mine takes about 5/7 minutes. I think if the barber spent less time on his phone he could do it too! ☘️🇮🇪👍
🇮🇪☘️👍
I'm so happy you and Mr. Mike have made these collab videos an ongoing project. Some great content! The boiled and baked citrus, fat and spice potatoes have been a hit in my kitchen. Thank you!
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with your knife skills my friend. Nothing wrong with your cooking skills either. You made it look easy compared to Mike earlier. He incorporated chilli flakes into his which I don’t think I would like. Great video buddy. From Philip in Ireland ☘️🇮🇪☘️👍
Just got home from work and watched Mike's version, so here I am for yours as well, lol. Love seeing how each of you adds your own personal touches to a dish to make it your own. Everything I've learned about Nigerian food has come from you, and you sharing your cuisine on these videos, so thank you!
interesting to break the eggs with the fork. ive seen similar stuff on asian videos but mostly just for posing. need to test that next time, im allways struggle a bit open/breaking eggs western style tbh.
Sovereign Citizens are so crazy! They get so much and use it but don't pay their part back. Also, your knife skills were great, I couldn't do any better and I've used one my phone life!
Another great video Babatunde! You've made me want to try this myself for breakfast infact. Your cutlery skills might actually be better than many people I've seen making a mess at the table in the UK!
