$52.71 for Nov 1 Choice Day (less store & sale codes): a true successor to the AD2030. Green dial will likely sell out again, so if you're keen, prepare to buy then, not 11/11?
They make some very good budget watches though it can be annoying that you have to file a couple of edges down now and again. They are getting better and if theycould just sort that logo....😉
@@johnswatchjoint I know what you mean. I bought their version of the Hamilton Auto and had done issues on the bracelet with sharp edges. So my take on the logo is when it comes to their military inspired watches the logo seems to go with the watch well enough that I can't complain about it. When they started making the watches with the sand effect on the dial and other designs that are a bit dressier like the one you just reviewed; the logo is completely out of place. The script font is a wonderful change but I think they could take some inspiration from Baltany and just use a fancy "A" at the 12 o'clock and leave it at that. Or perhaps a fancy "AD" Can't wait to see your next review John. I love your work and honest reviews.
Couldn’t resist ..🤷🏼♂️… some coupons in the right time and it was 35£- I don’t need it, but come on, this watch at that price- who wouldn’t? It’s on the way ☝🏻
Excellent video John. This is a very classy looking watch and Addiesdive are to be congratulated for producing it at such an attractive price. The mineral crystal doesn't bother me and I think I would keep this one on the bracelet anyway. Very interested in seeing what the red dial looks like though.
John, your channel really does deserve a lot more subscribers. I found your channel not very long ago just searching for Aliexpress watches. I think the Chinese watches keep getting better and better and much better value than lets say Seiko for example.
Hi Scotty. I don't really mind about the subscribers really. I'm getting far more views than some of the bigger channels. It does help get me recognised more with bigger hitters as they look for subscriber counts and not quality but I do ok. Thanks for your support my friend. Remember to enter the free watch draw on my last vid 😉
I own the sand AddiesDive model you´ve showcased in the beginning. This more recent model is even more attractive, I am definitely tempted to swap mine out for this newer model, as I love me some lume ;) The 19mm lug width and mineral crystal do not bother me at all. As a matter of fact, I wore it to work (flight attendant), went hiking and diving with it and the crystal is still without a single scratch. I honestly thought it was sapphire and the dome and distortion is truly beautiful. Great comprehensive review as usual!
Great review, you are right to criticise the logos, but for the money this is a great looking watch with an accurate movement 👍 . Mineral crystal doesn't put me off, just don't mention the lugs 😁
Love this watch John. I have bought it for my sons Christmas as its just too small for my some what larger wrists. 42mm is the sweet spot for me. I have had it good the past years with the majority of watches being 40mm. Those days are gone 38 is the new 40 and for me 36... No chance. Thanks John.
My Addiesive was < $50 including sales tax. Somewhat of a Tudor homage vibe. Has a GMT hand which I wanted for celestial navigation. Gains 2 seconds per week.
Thanks for the very detailed review! I really like the brown leather strap in the video, do you have a link of it? Even if it's no more on sale on your link, I'd like to have the link to find the same exact strap somewhere else... Thanks!
Excellent review and spot on about the logo inconsistencies. Looks so good on the dark drown strap (seem to have a mint chocolate craving all of a sudden). Let's see what the pricing is like in the sale as it was going for €63 (in early bird special) but now it's around €83. Edit: Seems like most stores have it back to the €63-65 range.
Watch out for price gouging on the green as it is a huge seller. I left an updated link below in the description and posted it in the Community Tab so everyone can see it ☺️
Beautiful dial on this one, but I totally agree with you about that logo on the crown, case back, and clasp. I don't know why they haven't thought to release a sister company for all of their non dive watches. Maybe come up with a different brand name, or simply shorten it to Addies. The font they used on the dial would still work perfectly! I just don't want to wear a dress or gada watch with that logo anywhere on it!
Contrast to popular opinion,i actually love their logo, the name doesn't bother me. their vintage explorer is just perfection except for the size(bit too small)
It's interesting how reviewers, John included, obsess about the Addiesdive logo. I have 5 or 6 of their watches and I just accept the logo as an indication that I'm getting a watch of exceptional value.
Unfortunately neither of the logos work for me but I am also inundated with subscribers who like me just hate it. Doesn't put me off complimenting the value for money though. You are in the minority on this one but I am glad you like it 😊
@johnswatchjoint It's not that I love it. I get why others don't like it, but the logos on the dial and on the crown are pretty small and the one on the back is on the back (and I just don't care that much about the back). I appreciate that they took "Deep Sea Hunter" off the dial.
@ramrammer5138 Thank you. I used to just talk without scripts but now I record my thoughts on tape then get everything formulated to cover all my thoughts before narrating. Xx
I have no issues with 19mm or mineral either. But I’m not sure if I’ve just become used to AliExpress brands but I rather like that logo. But I also like Berny so maybe my opinion should be ignored hahahahaha
This screams "dad watch." My dad would have worn one like this back in the late 60s / early 70s. I may grab it just to remind me of him when I wear it. Love the VH31. I'd probably wear it on the bracelet or a nice brown leather strap for that good old going into the office look.
You missed the biggest elephant... The Addiesdive doesn"t have a day/date complication which the Seiko does. i'msure there hasto be one that has the complications and the sweep style seconds hand, but that would have likely put it a lot closer to the Seiko in price.
Dress watches these days are devoid of day date complications. The Seiko 5 was just for comparison purposes and remember a day date was one of Seiko's 5 must haves in order to be called a Seiko 5 🤗
The VH65 movement has a date subdial at 3 o’clock, but not many put this movement into their watches. You can check out the PD-1689, which is a nice homage to the Rolex Cellini
@@johnswatchjoint cool but what i liked abt this one actually is the vh31 and no date. The new one, It would prob have a date and if not a ghost position. Having seen your post yet ill check it out. Thx buddy!
I have always disliked the Addiesdive spearfishing logo; on any of their watches. It's just ugly. Same for Steeldive. Both companies need to abandon those horrible logos and get with the times...
Yeah but those particular two companies are fundamentally handicapped by having such shitty names. I have a black Steeldive SD1953, the only reason it gets any wrist time is whenever I fancy wearing a sub homage, and when I do wear it I always try to avoid looking at the branding. Same with my Addiesdive sand dune watch. I gave up on criticising Chinese watches, and just appreciate them for the good value that they are.
A Tandorio retro style military diver in multiple colorways with an NH35 comes to mind. It is also only 36 mm but it does have 18 mm lug width which is very easy to swap. Just saying that I hate 19 mm lug width no brand really needs to do that and they could have put an NH35 in the watch. That would really elevate it imo.
Do remember that Tandorios use the cheapest crystals and handsets and have no water resistance as has been tested by I like watches and in the field by myself. They even fog up in heavy rain. I have not said this is the best you can get and I just don't get why people HATE 19mm straps when they are every bit as common as 20mm straps. It's just a lug width 🤗

44$ if you go through the coins section.
Excellent review and lovely looking watch. The channel is going from strength to strength
Thank you 🙏
Finally a review of this one on some different straps, thanks for that :)
That’s a hell of a little watch. It think it’s the best looking bargain AliExpress Sport Watch out there. Thanks for the great review as always!
And their new red watch is coming out. I can't remember the number. ! It looks really good too 👍
I've been in love with the Addiesdive brand ever since I purchased thier type flieger that's a wonderful homage to the IWC type A flieger.

Do you mean the AD2070?!? I can't remember either 😆
@@johnswatchjoint oh yess, you were right ad2071, but that one is automatic.

AD2071?

The old logo on the caseback wouldn’t bother me tbh, but I get your point!
Unfortunately. Addie's don't seem to listen ....unlike Watchdives.
I like this one, and I'm keen to see if they will produce other dial colours... forest green, midnight blue, etc.
They are but in a bigger case with an NH35 I believe it's the AD2071 🤗

Got a grey dial for $42 it came in today. My first thought was it was tiny but was impressed with the quality but its a little small for my 7.25 wrist
Like that a lot. Mint green dial eh? Very sophisticated and should match my teeth.

It's a lovely watch but that logo must go!
👍
While I would prefer 20mm for versatility, I like how 19mm looks more than 20 on a smaller watch.
What kind of film are you using for your bellows camera?
Unfortunately the camera is just a prop. I picked it up at a yard sale and it no longer functions.

Militado do great budget options including the ML05, ML07 & the ML08
