Yellowstone, Headwaters of the Missouri, Montezuma Hot Springs!

In our first trip since the rear-end damage, we headed up I-25 and stayed in West Yellowstone, visiting the 1st National Park in the U.S.A for 3 days. We headed towards Montana, inspired by the Lewis and Clark Expedition (Corps of Discovery), in search of the three rivers that converge to create the Missouri River. In this place we camped for a night while we figured out our next move. Moose in this neighborhood. Frustrated with the non-operable tailgate, we headed towards Wyoming, zoomed through Colorado and landed at the Montezuma Hot Springs near Las Vegas, New Mexico.

It was a bit windy but otherwise beautiful at Padre Island over spring break 2024. We set the Chevy Silverado HD to 4WD high, lowered the tire pressure and boogied to MP 12 before we lost daylight. No big deal though - we were secluded. Just the way we like it.

Check out our trip to Lake Mead in AZ/Nevada. First, we found a great spot off of Kingman Wash road, then got set up at the Las Vegas Bay campground. We got to deploy our new Overland Vehicle Systems 270 degree awning. The video wraps up with our hike down Goldstrike Canyon, and all of the scrambling and rope ladders that go with it, to relax in the hot spring at the bottom. Good stuff!!

We headed to western New Mexico to check out the "Gila Hot Spring Campground". Well worth the trip. We also visited the Gila Cliff Dwellings and fixed up some biscuits in the dutch oven.

Check out this place only a couple hours east of Tucson, AZ. North of Bowie and SE of Safford, Hot Well Dunes is an OHV playground, but also features a couple spring fed hot tubs! We set up camp and hit the tub. It was glorious even though it rained on us.

Headed out to L.A. and wanted to explore along the way. Made stops at Chiriaco Summit on BLM land just outside JTNP. Headed up the mountain and stayed on forest land above Big Bear Lake before heading to Doheny State Park.

Heading out to beautiful Colorado with stops in Telluride, Pleasant Valley, Lake City and the Piedra River Hot Spring. Did some very cool dispersed camping above the springs trailhead. Also went over Engineer Pass after whimping out on Imogene Pass the day before.

In a mostly successful attempt to get out of the heat in southern Arizona, we took a trip to Dogtown Lake near Williams, AZ. We spent the first night in the forest alongside some open-range cattle, who were happy to yell at us. We also did a day trip to the Grand Canyon and it didn't disappoint!
