What Makes The Blue Rolex Sky Dweller So Unique?
Can i get the link for the strap ? Look awesome
@@m41210sg you got it! I love their products and have several (and no I have no financial association with Rubber B). Great variety across multiple brands, this is one of their generic/universal options: rubberb.com/universal-straps/universal-vegan-watch-strap-swimskin-alligator-22mm?selected-color=187
They actually have different sizes of the rubber strap?
@@trevc yes. There's a standard size that comes with any new Omega out of the box. For my wrist size, even the smallest setting on that strap size is a little too big to fit right. So you can email them (SGMAT@swatchgroup.com) and provide your watch's purchase receipt, reference and personal details and they will send you a smaller or larger size at no cost. I've had very good experiences with their service team!
That is a gorgeous dial. Wear it in good health my friend
@@phantomphotography7392 I appreciate it!
Absolutely beautiful 😍
@@فيصل-و3ي thank you my friend!
My Omega Seamaster Chronometer, which I occasionally wear in bed, surprisingly maintains accurate timekeeping despite my inactivity.
@@greenerick yeah Omega continues to be my most accurate timepiece across years of having them. Very impressive.
that moonphase is a handy feature if you're a werewolf or if you live with one
@@cyberlip666 very little of what we enjoy about watches is strictly practical...otherwise we'd all just use our phones to tell the time 🙂 the moonphase is there for the beauty, and the artistic expression. And, if you happen to be a werewolf you're better prepared yes 😂
Strap, gap, WTF
@@jokester5812 see pinned comment my friend!
I have both. I love the YM2 but it is big ( too big but I wear it anyway). The SD is a great piece and it wears better. I wish the YM2 came in at 40mm to 42mm. No chance of that now. I think I will just keep them and enjoy both.
@@MP-zi6nz yes, that's one thing with Rolex that we may never get is all the different case sizes that others have. But they still make great watches and that's why we will wear them, even if they're oversized 😂 thanks for stopping by the video!
Great watch. Nobody's going to mug. You can go to the roughest areas in town, and criminals will just walk pass
@@greenerick yes this one is all the best of Japanese watchmaking with such a low profile on the wrist. No one who doesn't know this brand would have any idea why they should want it haha and it doesn't have even close to the same rarity as like an Eichi II.
You need to be very careful when you're setting the day you're inserting it in the danger zone
@@greenerick yes, I'm terrible at being mindful of this when making video reviews 😂 but I'm aware it's a real thing and avoid it in every day situations. Thanks for the comment man!
Is true the stem is very wobbly on that watch,
@@greenerick hmm it's not something I ever experienced with this piece. I thought it was fantastic. Only positive things to say about GS and this one in particular.
Get that strap gone
@@roybatty6368 already did! See pinned comment. Thanks for stopping by the video!
I think pin buckles look so down market
@@e99783 yeah I think it depends. If there's a company emblem on it I think that classes it up a bit. Obviously for this one since it's part of the Rubber B strap, that is missing. But I actually prefer pin buckles over most full deployant clasps.
@ that’s fine, but why?
@@e99783 just ease of use really, but I should be fair it definitely depends on the model and style. Some of them are great. Rolex and Omega for example have excellent ones.
Any AR coating on top of the crystal?
@@avenuefive8593 no, JLC doesn't use AR on many models. Doesn't impact the legibility of the piece though, still easy to read at a glance and you don't get too much glare.

Really cool dial, I wish it was automatic. How much did it retail?
@@scooby7877absolutely, initially I felt the same but I don't mind that it's quartz! I think new they're just under $3k, I got mine pre-owned for significantly less than that. The texture is the same as the GS Katana in red.
@@JamesCarian well it’s a beauty, what site did you purchase it on if you don’t mind me asking
@@scooby7877 thank you! Chrono24. My preferred dealer overall is 1916 Company (previously WatchBox) but C24 is a way bigger marketplace so they're great for exploring niche pieces, and they also are very secure in terms of their sales process. So I trust the platform if I'm not able to work with my usual contact at 1916 because they don't always have every piece I'm looking for.

THIS is what watch collecting should be about. Buy what you like and not the hype. UN would be a great addition to your collection.
@@jimmillett9224 appreciate it man, stepping out of my comfort zone a bit with this type of content. But absolutely. What you like and how you decide matters most. Once again I blame the group for me seeing that UN 😂

JLC is gorgeous. Great blue theme collection. Appreciate a unique collection and not hype TH-camr videos
@@GustapoGomez appreciate the comment man. I love all the pieces here but yes the JLC is a special one. Honestly sometimes filter putting up content because I don't want to fall into the hype, this is the first video of this style. Glad you enjoyed it, it's encouraging to ponder doing more.
Social media can be just as addictive. I put a stop to IG because it’s ever consuming. It starts becoming an obsession about getting validation from the watch community when in reality we wear what is personal to each individual. I found less anxiety to obtain a new piece every few months to every 2 years. Has allowed me to save money and buy what I desired most especially if a great deal comes along in the secondary market. You do you man!
@@GustapoGomez so much truth in that. And the reality is, it's about living life and being smart with money, and also enjoying the watch journey...not having it be a living hell to buy new pieces. So I know exactly what you mean!
Never change the date or moonphase pushers without stopping the watch completely and only between 6am and noon.
@@patrickhurley3705 appreciate the comment man!
James, what a great video. I also run heavy on the blue theme and thought about staying exclusively in that lane until I met the Omega Seamaster 300 in green, aka the Seaweed last year and was my one impulse buy as it’s beautiful on the green rubber strap. It’s my fishing/outdoor watch. I love your advice on the variety. Keep it up. Would enjoy chatting with you on my blue journey one day. Take care and keep it up.
@@ericmartinez4698 every time I see an off blue, or a green blue, or some variant that I really like, I always ask myself that question 😂 so far I've come back with no, it's gotta be real close. Like the new GS Atera Valley, really like it but a little too green. And personally the texture I'm not a fan of, but the color itself and design is spectacular. That green SMP is great, I really considered the navy blue Bond version. Cheers man! Thanks for the comment, glad it hit home and yes, would love to connect and talk watches my friend!

To have an Annual Calendar AND a GMT function, all set by a single Crown and the “Ring Command Bezel” with no pushers is INCREDIBLE!
@@williamumbach592 agreed my friend. Brilliant engineering, for all the folks who say Rolex doesn't innovate or take risks. They continue to prove that idea wrong, especially with some of the recent new dials and the 1908.
The most complicated watch that Rolex makes! The Rubber B is cool
@@williamumbach592 yes, rivaled in complexity only by the Yacht Master II. I love the piece of Rubber B, I actually prefer it over factory bracelet. Thanks for the comment man!
Pretty amazing, I just wish they made dial sizes around 37mm-38mm
@@Elijah-fc3ex yeah I believe they do have some in smaller sizes but not this particular ref. There are also some Credor models that have smaller sizing so those may be worth looking at.
I think this is gonna be my first very very nice watch. It fits my budget. Now, I'm talking used, I don't think I will pay what they want for a new one. But there are a lot of used ones out there for killer prices.
@@Teleman01 that's awesome man! Yes, this is a spectacular first luxury watch which, in my opinion punches way above its weight. Too big for your wrist in my humble opinion. Superb choice though.
@@edmundchoy2992 yeah I do have very small wrists so I understand that. At the same time, I think there's a lot of personal preference to that conversation, I've worn & loved 42 and even 44mm watches. @@dropthebag hey thank you for the comment! Yeah this one was such a rare opportunity, I had to jump at it when it came up. It has become my favorite piece in the collection. Such amazing craftsmanship on this dial.
I still don’t know how to set up the Moon Phase. The Instructions are bad. Does someone know a good Video on it? Or can explain it better than it is in the instructions?
@@JonasReichert1992 look up the most recent full moon and then these instructions will work: Let’s say five days have passed since the last full moon. Orient the moon disc, so the full moon is at the top (and completely visible through the aperture). Then advance the moon disc by four days. Next, if your watch has a date, set it to one day behind the current date (yesterday). Finally, pull out the crown to the time-set position and move the hands past midnight, so the date jumps forward to today’s date. The moonphase should advance around this time to show the lunar stage five days after the full moon has passed.
@@JamesCarian thank you very much! I will try it tommorow
@@JonasReichert1992 no problem man! I had the same questions when I first got this piece and had to figure it out. Do you have this watch specifically also?
@@JamesCarian i probably jumped to acoclusion a Little too fast. It could be different from mine i have the MASTER CONTROL CHRONOGRAPH CALENDAR which has those bigger buttons on side which i cant see on yours but yours is also a Master from earlier? +the thinner Version?
@@JonasReichert1992 oh man that's also a beautiful watch. But the moonphase should function the same way so those instructions will still apply. Those are pretty standard steps for any moonphase because they all function on a 29.5 day cycle. Great watch! Let me know if it works!
Great watch but unfortunately I dont wear flashy watches, so I couldnt wear that. But it's your taste that matters for yourself, so enjoy it ! My preferred own Rolex is a 1967 Sub, all brushed and way more subdued.
@@robynsjp I can totally appreciate that! Honestly that's why I like it on the Rubber B strap instead of the factory bracelet, because it has a much more subdued look than the full bracelet with all the bright reflective steel. It tones down a lot and the bezel becomes much more subtle when it's the only part of the watch that shines. The vintage Sub is also a great piece! Thanks for the comment!
What a beauty

Fantastic watch in every sense. If you want a dress watch buy a Cellini.

Hello <James, I would like to know the all weight after change to the Rubber B
Thanks for the question! I can't say that I have a scale to actually measure it, but if I have to guess, I'd say removing the bracelet honestly takes about half the weight off the watch, because the Rubber B strap is very light. The standard weight of the piece on bracelet is about 175 grams, so I may estimate without the bracelet maybe 100? But that's just a rough estimate. Sorry for not being able to provide a more accurate number on that.
got the exact same one, incl the RubberB band .. and love it!
Absolutely, it's got such a clean aesthetic with the white and blue. Would take this over a sub all day in my opinion. Thanks for stopping by the video!

@@romanr.b.7821 yeah this was a tough one to find! There is currently only ONE blue one listed on Chrono24 haha so, they are out there but not common. 🙂
@@JamesCarian yes indeed, I don't have much experience buying from chrono, I trust the platform, but that one listing does not seem to be very attractive based on the description. What do you think about that listing ?
@@romanr.b.7821 actually now that I'm digging there are two listings. If you scroll in the listing you found and click on the reference number, it will query the whole platform for that reference. Yeah these AT's are just so versatile. I think many of the different combos/colors look great. And they are SUPER accurate with the METAS certified movements.
JLC is great but comes with a price. If you're looking for something very similar for less, consider Longines Master collection.
Absolutely, Longines makes some great pieces that are fantastic value. I've not seen anything as visually pleasing from Longines though, I think JLC wins that category by a landslide.

All I can say is don’t knock it till you try it. I just wish Rubber B would attach the strap so you could continue to use the “easy link” extension.
