Ride the dirt roads too
E3. in this episode we take a day trip to The Bay of Fundy on our Harley Davidson Sportsters to see the ships at low tide resting on the mud then we ride back before dark with bellies full of fried clams!

what size are the rollers?
Damn it Dave lol 😂
Operating a lathe having the sleeves down...
What’s your point?
😳😅💪👏
Unfortunately I don't play with lathe work, but I do find lathing very interesting. You have an interesting & different set up to a lot of shops that I come across. Your lathe with all those fitting is a first that I have seen. That measure that you use & as "can you see that" the answer is the camera is too far away. As this is my first visit, I'll be back.
cool
very good job
Those Tri Mics are the cats meow.
Looks relaxing.
It was!
And??
Did you watch the video?
be warned your economy is broke get your self some bullion
Was the house tank project just built for the sponsored advertisement?
We build tracks, @rubitracks that’s our main business. We built the cabin to promote the tracks. The adverts was a way to help offset the cost of the project.
I don't know much about airboats but id look into balancing the propeller maybe? Without a doubt an awesome video though!!!
Just hit the paramotor part! Rejet for lower alt?!?
It ran last two seasons, this season it didn’t want to. Black hawk thinks it might be time for a set of piston rings
Thanks. I talked to black hawk, they think it time to put a set of piston rings in it
What are the dimensions of the boat?
Exactly 4x8. Made from 3/8 plywood and 2x6.
@@westislespecialprojects that’s the same size as my houseboat 😂 I think you’ve built the smallest airboat in the world
lol nice
These are the worst kind of boat. Just saying, noisy, dangerous, and destructive to wild habitats..
Why not bundle them? I've welded one end of a bundle of roundbar to cut up on a saw and it works fantastic
Two reasons, one being the chips pile up between the bars and it’ takes its toll on blades not to mention difficult to clamp securely. this way the chips fall through leaving the blade clean for the next bar and second reason is it becomes one heavy mass to move to the next cut position if I bundle them. This way I can slide one bar at a time through the fixture rather than having to move the whole 150 lb bundle at once.
@@westislespecialprojects That's clever with sound reasoning. I could certainly see mass becoming an issue with large bars or on sawing setup that doesn't have rollers/isn't setup for it. I haven't had an issue with the chips personally, but the reasoning is sensible
Fixtures are everything in the machine shop. Nice one.
Love watching these videos, I'm looking at a Warner and Swasey 2a M510 to do a lot of production work (Mostly drilling holes, 1"-2"). I was worried the turret would vibrate if I pushed the drills as fast as I want to (1-7/16" drill at 450 rpm and 0.020"/ rev) but this gives me hope that I'll be fine, that little lathe is stout
Just a safety thing. You forgot to tighten down the chuck. Heavy cuts will throw the part out at you.
At 9 minute 28 seconds I tighten the chuck…
@@rubitracks I saw that you did that before you began the cuts. By the way the live did not complete and cut out just as you were setting the die for threading. I commend you for your efforts but I felt it was a 2 hour set up and too long for a live. Just my opinion but I used to set these lathes and it was a blast from the past. GREAT MACHINE
@@PatrickM-h6j yeah my battery died, I was hopeful I’d catch it before that happened.
Started my apprenticeship on Warner Swasey in 69 at GE
Can you do a video on your press? It’s a cool design.
Eventually yes, tried a couple times already and didn’t work out for various reasons but will try again
@@westislespecialprojects nice, I really like how the bed of the press is essentially a table to work on, I’m planning to do this to my press.
борода умеет работать
Very nice work sir.
Exelente 👍🇨🇴
Es genial le instalaron una fresadora a un torno . Es la mejor herramienta del mundo .
Cool stuff. I enjoyed. I assume it’s cheaper to make the spindle two pieces instead of machining it as one piece?
cheaper for material yes, probably if you factor time in at shop rate it would be a wash or maybe even cheaper but my time really isn't worth anything yet.
Your time is always worth something, it’s getting paid fairly for it, is the hard part.
Hola genial, tu la fabricaste o donde la venden ? Soy de Chile y me gustaria tener una de esas, me cometas los detalles, gracias
I made it, pretty simple
nice work!
A nice productive older machine for short run parts. You'll probably never have a problem, but I cringe a little every time I see you reach near the chuck with long sleeves. I was always taught to roll up sleeves to avoid getting wrapped up. A different issue, but I know of two cases of long hair getting caught in a lathe. Snached one guy bald in half a second.
😯😲😲😲 it goes wrong one day with that hanging out , when it bends 90 degrees, you will be surprised how much power there is in that aluminum rod, now get something safer before you get killed ,, 🥸🥸🥸
Ok boss
A big thanks for putting up this video, I have a Herbert 2D I going to set up for bush holder, some what the same size you are making here. Like the boring bar holders, dont have that tool holder setup. Good to see what you are making work. AAA+
I sourced them off eBay, they're Warner Swasey units, they show up from time to time. Very handy as you can set depth and diameter of each boing bar so you don't constantly have to adjust them and they're repeatable to a couple tenths. keep watching, will be sharing lots more videos if it.
nice tailstock... ..ahahah
Awesome, what's the capacity in tons.
50
I got half a dozen of these at an auction. They are fun to use works great in my jet turret lathe
Trabalhei em um Warner Swasey muito grande.
My grandfather designed turret lathes for Warner and Swasey. This is the first time I have ever seen one doing stuff. I don't think vice grips are part of the tool.
Thr drill was resonating, the vise grips are there to deaden it
Szép munka .❤❤❤
I’m digging the pneumatic tailstock.
Very nice work sir
I have several of these and have been threading on the turret lathe for many years. If you leave the die head open advance the turret until your desired end of thread clearance is where you want it you should be able to engage the feed lock the turret slide and tighten down the stop until the feed trips out. Now it should be set to stop exactly where you put it. Try it with using a shim for clearance and you will be able to set up the same each time first time! I love how you are able to create and market this product. Well done!
ну и где тут хотя бы 2 одновременно работающих инструмента? А уж про точность 0.0005 надо уточнять что дюймов.
Was that lathe a Kia mt-Seiki 4A-II?
Hitachi seiki 4AII
@@westislespecialprojects ok. What might be major differences of kia and hitachi 4A-II lathes, they look almost identical, few difference is on front panel , speed handle etc.
In my shop you would be fired. One NEVER leaves a running machine.
Luckily this is my shop.
Can't afford an indicator huh ?
An indicator?
May i ask why you put round bar on the bottom die? Getting ready to build a die myself and am curious. thanks in advance!
Just because it was easy
This one is capstan turret lathe right????
Yes
Es un torno transfer.... O máquina transfer...o centro de mecanizado creo que no es

Holy cow! Facing and drilling at the same time?!? I learn something every day! My Clausing 5914 has a turret and now I'll have to try that.
Cuanta fuerza se necesita para hacer eso? Yo tengo un gato de 10 toneladas . Sirve para eso?
15 ton per foot for 1/4”
