Taking the cab off of the cabin frame

My ecm burned up driving home from a job one day. Ran large wires from alt to battery and put control power on switch in cab. Converted to push button starter and removed fuel shutoff plunger. Ve pump has manual bracket on side. Put a twist and lock cable to cab. Bobs your uncle.

So I don’t need to swap to gm, just put the signal wire on a switch? Will it self regulate?
