His name isn't 'Garth'. It's 'Gar', short for 'Garfield'. Garth was Aqualad's friend from Atlantis, also known as 'Tempest'.

Off topic but I wanted to talk about Miss Martain's stealth outfit. This becomes her main costume from here on out and I love that choice, not only because its cooler but I found out that her original costume was meant to make her look more like Supergirl which is probably why she didn't do too well in the comics, because the writers kept treating her like knock off Supergirl

M'gann effectively lobotomized that alien and had no remorse about it. Do you condone that behavior in a superhero or take her to task? In a way this is worse than killing as now medical resources need to be devoted to keeping that alien alive. A vegetable doesn't feed itself. 😈

This was so funny to see you react to this. Because you’ve been hellbent on Artemis being the traitor teh entire season & questioned everyone except the original 4 from the first episode Aqualad, Robin, KidFlash & Red Arrow/fake Speedy. I was glad you didn’t expect it to be him because it made it so much better to see you so shocked. That was me when I first watched it, because I had known Speedy prior to the series because of the comics so I never would’ve expected them to make an originally good guy in the comics to be a traitor & then the clone thing happened & it all fell into place.

The showrunners have kept an ongoing lore for all of their characters. They even cover some story between season 1 and 2 in the video game and the comics expand on the universe. I agree that seems hard to keep up for an ensemle cast. Vandal Savage's motivations are expanded upon in subsequent seasons.

Episode 24, while yes a very robin origin centered episode, is used to downplay the mole aspect before the big reveal. It's the episode where red arrow finally works with all the mole suspects and decides that there isn't a mole. It serves to put the audience a little at ease before the next episode which is basically the finale part 1. Love your stuff!

Yeah I always did love YJ season 1 too man and my favorite moment was in episode 2 when they finally stood up to the league and told them we're fighting real crime with or without you saying "Get on board or get out of the way." cause it was true and pretty clear that they were ready for real action. Also there was episode 13 when Aqualad finally made them stop all that bickering about how he withheld the mole fact and saved it for after the mission and episode 24 when those who had secrets have finally let them out before they got blackmailed into joining the evil light.

Genuinely love this show so much has been my favoirte since 2012. The creators of young justice put so much love into this show. For the most part none of the charaters are throwing away chararters which I think is so cool. Without spoliers some of the charaters that we have met will be in future seasons. Love the twist and turns throughtout season one, the mole gets me everytime. One of my favorite lines of all time is “I was the mole”. Also love Artemis and Wally banter, Robin use of language such as “whelmed” and “aster”, and superboy chararer growth. The therapy epsiode “disorded” I still think about to this day. Favorite epsiode in season one is epsiode 25 “usual suspects” has the best build up from the whole season. Love Artemis so much she has always been one of my favorite charaters same with Wally and Robin. Love Kadlur too, he was the only charater that was true a original character to come from young justice which I think he was a great additon. I was kid when I first watched young justice and used to hate superman so much because of how he treated superboy in seaosn 1, also with this being my first introduction to justice league/dc comics was not a good first impression. With Dick/Robin background I think the main reason we don’t see much is becasue he is a very popluar charater in the dc universe so many people know his backstory, and he has one that I find to be the same across most mediums, with his parents dying at the cicrus and Bruce Wayne taking him in. I am exticted for you to continue on with season two. One of the main reasons why this is my favorite show and love I love it so much is the rewatch value. There is so many things that you don’t get to appreciate the first time. All the hints of who the moles is, Artemis inneractions with Chersire and Sportamster, M'gann obsession with the tv seris hello megan, sportmaster dropping the line “ha more like broken arrow”. The charater growth from everyone. Also some scene are so much funnier/better with future knowledge. For example episode performance and how that is the episode where Red Arrow finally takes his suspected off the three suspcet moles and one of his theroies regarding superboy is closed to the truth. Also without spoliers there is set up for all the future seasons in seaosn 1 that you probaly won’t know or remember without rewatch. I recommned after finshing the show to at least rewatch season 1

I love this season. Rewatching the Injustice League episode, the Wally West solo mission to deliver a heart, and Robin's episode where he and the team save Haley's Circus, reminded me of how great the show is in action and character development and depth. Also, this show transformed silly character Sportsmaster and made him such an awesome presence, he's now one of my favorite comic book villains of all time

My biggest moment was robin saying, "i don't want to be The Batman anymore." In episode 17, and then in episode 22, when Wonder Woman accuses Batman of wanting Robin to be like him, Batman replies,"So that he wouldn't." That is fantastic writing and watching those two scenes back to back kills me every time.

They knew there wasn't any escape and the bomb would take out everything but Robin and Kid looking at each other and going down fighting is such a strong moment for me. They are the goofiest characters on The Team but at the end of the day they are best friends and fighters.

Not only is it the best animated series ever on Netflix, it's easily one of the best animated series ever made. It's not immediately obvious why. But trust me, you'll know.

It will be explained... but do keep in mind that there are a canonic videogame (Young Justice: Legacy) and a canonic comic book (Young Justice: Targets), that came after season one and before season two, so they will mention some of the events, but they assume the fandom knows what happened so they won't go into details. In "Young Justice: Targets, various missions in the five years are narrated and events regarding the Logan Animal Sanctuary are explained, including the death of Marie Logan at the hands of Queen Bee and subsequently Garfield Logan (BeastBoy) joining the team. In "Young Justice: Legacy", instead, we see Tula and Garth joining the team as Aqua Girl and Tempest, but the collaboration is short lived: after Tula dies tragically during a mission, both Aqualad and Tempest quit the team.

there is a video game that came out awhile ago but its consider cannon and fills some gaps between season 1 and 2.

Personally, I loved the time jump. Changed the whole dynamic of the show. And they do eventually explain everything important that happened in the past 5 years. There are still a few twists and turns in the road getting there, though. Just kick back and enjoy the ride.

Ok basically Dick grayson (OG robin) becoms nightwing during the 5 year skip not only that they becime alart of the justice league im oretty sure but just off the books so they can run the covert ops team superboy and Megahn break up for some reason but since they are now season heros they get they own team which is why there all the mew heroes the new robin is Tim Drake basically a lot haooens in 5 years

There is a comic series and video game that take place between season 1 and 2. I only have the last 4-5 issues, I used to get them in the mail as a kid. If you ever have interest on playing the game or reading the comics, I’d say watch all of season 2 first!! Again, keep up the great work!!🔥

There are 4 main Robins in the comics First - Dick Grayson (Nightwing) the best dc character ever, the best thing that ever happened to Batman (even he says that) Second - Jason Todd (Red Hood) most violent of Batfamily, expert marksman. Third - Tim Drake (Red Robin) the best Robin. (Purely Robin) This one we have in here you watched. Fourth - Damian Wayne - current Robin in the comics, actual son of Bruce and Talia al Ghoul

As a Young Justice fan I’m accustomed to waiting 3-6 between seasons. Pleasantly surprised we’re just going right into the next one.

I was wondering, when you had that wallpaper for the background of your videos in S1 -- why is Wonder Girl there?! Didn't want to say anything, but now it's good to see Cassie Sandsmark introduced in this new season. Evidently Dr Ray Palmer crafted the belt that grants his shrinking abilities from studying a white dwarf star. His power is strictly based on getting smaller so he can't grow to giant stature. Dr Palmer of course took Karen(Bumblebee) as his protege and designed the costume she wears - which had to have been inspired by her cheerleader persona. I believe MARVEL's Ant-Man was created after DC's Atom, but it's hilarious how many times these comics giants have copied each other's ideas.

"G. Gordon Godfrey is a GBS pundit, the host of The G. Gordon Godfrey Show", and his character is voiced by the extremely talented English actor and singer; Tim Curry. Unfortunately Curry suffered a stroke that left him with partial paralysis & wheelchair-bound for more than a decade. Recently it looks like Tim Curry will be making his triumphant return to horror in the highly anticipated film 'Stream'. And yeah, I thought FOX News too when watching this season. It's important throughout S2 to show how media has gone the way of the dodo, and is simply a game of smoke and mirrors now more than any era before it. Really hope you enjoy Season 2 regardless of all the "surprises"... they will only make it better!

Wayne and one other one. But you only see dick and tim in this show

Just so you know the story behind Tim Drake who is the Robin going forward in the show, Tim Drake was only a toddler when he was there in the audience to witness the death of Dick Graysons acrobat parents known as the Flying Graysons after a mobster extorting money from their circus had cut the lines of the ropes they used for their act and fell to their deaths in front of their 9 year old son. Dick was later adopted by Bruce Wayne who was also in the audience and understood the pain of losing his parents. Tim was a massive fan of Batman and Robin and always looked up to them growing up. Tim is the smartest person in the Bat Family and at the age of 13 he used his own self-taught detective skills to figure out Batman and Nightwing's identities. After the death of the second Robin Jason Todd at the hands of the Joker, Batman had become more violent and after Tim noticed he told Batman that he had figured out who he was and that Batman needed a Robin to remind him of what he stood for. Tim asked Dick Grayson to become Robin again but Dick refused and told him that he should be the one to do it. Tim accepted and after months of training the world's greatest martial artist Lady Shiva (who you will see in the show), he earned the right to become the third Robin and is widely considered to be the smartest and best Robin out of all of them, although Dick Grayson as Nightwing is still the best character overall.

More than any other DC project, Young Justice kind of tells a very very broad saga mining very very deep cut DC lore. It's not insanely attached to telling a linear story with a single group of characters so these rug pulls are commonplace. I think even now, there are quite a few characters that only get passing mentions that I'm only more familiar with because I've read a bookshelf of DC comics and watched most of the older shows and animated films. There are plenty of things you'll have to source elsewhere to get the gist of. Especially Bat Family lore, this show will not give you much if anything at all in terms of things like explaining what happened to the second Robin or explaining why Dick branched out on his own. Even Tim's origin is something they just expect you to source from the books. This is one world that doesn't let you be privy to all the stages of the characters lives, so much happens off screen and they just want you to roll with it 😭

The 5 year time jump always throws people off lol. It was a ballsy move that's for sure, but one most would say was executed well. A lot of the things that aren't explained this episode do get explained in later episodes, but for the things that don't: In the comics 'Robin' is more a mantel then an identity for one character. Their are five main ones in the comics (Dick, Jason, Tim, Stephanie, and Damien) and every media you watch adapts them differently. In the show it's never explained exactly why Dick evolved to Nightwing, just meant to be assumed it's because he got older (After the time jump he's now 18). The current Robin we're seeing in this season is Tim Drake. Mal and Karen (The guy running coms and Bumblebee) are two of Conner and Megan's classmates from the first season. Karen was one of the cheerleaders Megan befriended, and Mal was the jock, who would later dress as superman at the Halloween party. It's never really explained in the show how Karen got her powers or how they found out and joined the team, more just an easter egg for those paying really close attention lol. You'll learn quickly in this show even the small character's you don't remember could be pretty important in the coming seasons XD. We also very briefly see L'gann (Lagoon Boy) as a background character in DownTime back in Season 1 when Kaldur goes to Atlantis, but unlike Mal and Karen he wasn't really an actual character. As well as seeing Barbara (Batgirl) talking to Dick after he takes a picture with Artemis on her first day at the Gotham Academy at the beginning of HomeFront.

Blue Beetle, my GOAT! Def my fav in this show (and in comics too) so I'm a little bias, but Blue making his appearance in this show will always hold a special place in my heart man. Its so good!

If I remember correctly, we slowly fill in what caused most of the major changes in the status quo of the team throughout the season. I don't think we get everything, but there are a few specific things I know that they explain further into the season. (But it does continue the questionable practice of putting in stuff without explanation that you might only get if you are familiar with the source material)
