The Guitar I Bought (and modded) For All The "Wrong" Reasons
Sometimes we put a lot of thoughts into the instruments we add to our collection. Sometimes we consider the quality of the sound, the shape of the neck, and the way it feels to play. And sometimes, we find a cool looking $400 used guitar on guitarcenter.com and think, "why not?". That's how I ended up with this guitar, and this is how I turned it into an instruments that I absolutely love to play.

I Built Some Jazzmaster Pickups
มุมมอง 19K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey everyone! In my never ending journey trying to learn all I can about guitars, I had the opportunity to head down to @LollarPickups to build my own set (well kinda, it for my brothers guitar) of Jazzmaster pickups. This was my first time ever building a pickup and I definitely learned a ton, made a bunch of mistakes, and overall had a really fun time. Thanks so much to @LollarPickups for all...
A Day in the Life of a Wannabe Guitar Tech | Backlog Vlog #1
มุมมอง 14K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey everyone! Little bit different of a video today! Lately I've had a few too many projects piling up that life has gotten in the way of. So I thought it'd be a good idea to knock out as many as I can in one day to try to break out the procrastination prison that I've been stuck in for the past couple months. Typically, my normal videos take all day to film even one project, so this time, we'r...
Installing a Vega Trem VT1 For The First Time
มุมมอง 30K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey everyone! So of you may have noticed a Fender Japan Heritage 50's Stratocaster hanging out in in my collection for the past couple months. Well the reason this guitar was in my possession was to install a Vega Trem VT1 in it for its owner. I'm honestly not typically the biggest fan of Strats nor the Strat trem, but after a quick, mostly straight forward, installation, this is now one of the...

Guitar vs Guitarist - Does One Matter More?
มุมมอง 21K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
For our first video of my second year on TH-cam we are looking into a question that I've been asking myself since I starting building my guitar collection - when it comes to building your own sound, what matters more: the guitar or the guitarist? Thankfully, I didn't have to answer this question on my own and I had some help from @GetOffset , @Puisheen , and @ambienttrash5234 ! Be sure to check...

Hey everyone! Today we are comparing my two short scale, offset guitars - my Fender Mustang, Cali, and my Fender Jaguar, Aerial. Im guessing inductance oops I meant impedance -- thanks @benebluesman! ..plays a larger role than resistance in the musing of the guitar with the pedal.

First time viewer here. My suggestion has nothing to do with messing up guitars, but it might help you to stay in tune. I use super glue on the lock twist of my plain strings to keep them from unraveling at the ball ends. I’ve seen people recommend soldering the lock twist but the solder doesn’t want to stick to the shiny metal and overheating might ruin the temper of the steel. A little cyano will wick right into the lock twist and dries in seconds. Just make sure it’s dry before putting the strings on! (BTW, I just subscribed to your channel.)

  • @ejomo11
    @ejomo11 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

One of the big sonic differences in regards to the cutting brightness of the jag, as compared to the warmer rounded sound of the mustang, is the volume pot values. That 1meg volume pot on the jag (just like the jazzmaster), really makes them more trebly sounding. The 250k in the mustang definitely cuts a lot of that higher treble. So a simple mod for any mustang owner that wants to brighten them up would be to raise the value of their volume pot. 500k for a little jump, and 1meg to definitely bring out more of that jag style brightness.

Both these guitars are sexy AF. I haven't an electric guitar in 2 years since I...ugg...regrettably had to sell my dad's original '60's Fender Duo Sonic II because when life hands you lemons, you have to sell things you never thought you would have to part with. That said, I'm looking to purchase 1 or 2 new electrics. I've always been huge fan of Fender - the sound, feel and look of their electrics. I would LOVE to have both a Jaguar AND a Mustang. I MIGHT end up purchasing both, but they would be the newer models. I can't even afford 1 vintage '60's or '70's guitar, so I'm willing to settle for brand new. I was going to get a Strat just because as a Fender fan I almost feel obligated to own one at least once in my life. But I saw another video where she talked about how even though the Strat is basically a perfect guitar, it's just not designed for her play style...and that's kind of where I stand, as well. And honestly, I actually prefer the sound and feel of a Jaguar and Mustang to the Strat. And as long as I'm keeping it 100 here, I also superficially like the look of them over the Strat. It's funny because when I decided I was going to buy a new guitar I was 100% set on buying a strat. Then I started looking at Jags and found one that I absolutely loved. Then I thought maybe I would buy 2 guitars, so I could have the Jag that I REALLY want and still have the Strat, as well. And then I started looking at the Mustangs and all hell broke loose in my brain. Guitars...Am I right?

That... definitely sounds like a Jazzmaster. For the longest time, I loved Jazzmasters, but hated the way p90s kind of bark at you. This confused me until I was reading about something else on reddit, and saw the comment: "no, Jazzmaster pickups aren't p90s. They're their own thing." No one's born knowing that. I think it's one of the early lessons of an aspiring gearhead.

Envy, because I still have to ruin a couple of sets of strings before I manage to wind the everything around the vibrato tail-piece and keep it taut long enough to finish winding it.

Hey! loving this channel. I'm thinking about getting a 24" scale guitar as my next little "pretend I'm a tech" project. Found a Squier Classic Vibe 70's Jag a few blocks from me that I might trade a pedal for. I think that might be a fun place to start because of the convenience. But this video confirmed that ultimately I'd like a more "vintage" spec'd mustang. Anyway, thanks for the videos!
