I have thoughts: I like Elliot's work a lot. And his outfit. The new lamp is great and the chrome lifts your living space, I think, but the orange brown of the coffee table is killing the mustard chairs and making everything too red. The blond wood of the new butcher block table fits the space better. You could paint the coffee table mat black until you find the coffee table of your dreams, perhaps. Good job with the burl frame and the bathing beauty.

I think the lamp should go next to the wall by the green chairs, it feels more balanced that way!

Surprising what a lift that mustard cushion gave to the entire room, and the balance it added. You might get lucky on Etsy for your pendant shade. I have bought two folded paper (actually heavy, heat resistant card) origami shades for my living room that were very reasonable and look wonderful in my rented place, and I also have a linen version of a ricepaper lamp made by a charity in Thailand. None cost much and all have a lovely soft diffused glow that adds a great deal to the ambience of my living room.

Rub the table with a brown paper bag It is the same as 600 grit sandpaper and a little cheaper. Then use wipe on poly. It is very thin and dries really quickly. I have been refinishing furniture since college and I just retired.

Hi Michelle, Just want to let you know I dont expect any youtubers to be as consistent as they probably think they should be, and you are no exception. I believe most people have a similar view, and if they dont are projecting unrealistic expectations onto people. Everyone has ups and downs, and no one should be expected to be at 100% all the time. Capitalism and productivity mindset has trained us to think we are bad if we dont push ourselfs past our natural ebs and flows. Being chronically ill I have had to learn this the hard way and force myself to take breaks even when I dont consciously want to. I love your videos and will continue to watch whether you post once a week, or once a year. All the best, Clara

I totally agree however… when I have people over they lounge and when I go to people’s houses I lounge 😂 I need a big comfy chair with a back and with arms because I have back pain and not having a backrest is the fastest way to discomfort 👀 but in my living room I have a couch and two mismatched comfy chairs and I think that looks better then the four matching swivel chairs. But comfort is the most Important thing to me

🤗 ~ It's such a different world (obviously), but "Back in the day" (😂) - I would purchase beautiful decorating books 📚 of varying aesthetics + decorating magazines, and, would love nothing more than perusing them over coffee ☕ on a leisurely Saturday morning or in the evening with wine 🍷. And, while trends were trends --- there was somehow less of the cookie cutter look everywhere - due to the advent of social media not even being a THING yet. My point 🧐 - (😂) - one's home design, fashion & make-up aesthetic seemed in some ways more individulized. These days all the TRENDY looks / lingo, i.e., "Cottagecore", "Dark Academia" or a "Gallery wall" (🤢), etc., are just that re ultra "TRENDY" & thus become so homogenized re bland, basic & very, very vanilla ... 🙃
