BMW No Wheel Lock Key! Over Torqued!
มุมมอง 780ปีที่แล้ว
This BMW arrived with the locking wheel nut key missing. The customer had several incorrect sized spline keys. None of them fitted and the problem was the lug nut itself was well over torqued. Quite possibly twisting the bolt inside the wheel, giving it a sort of hour glass shape. Thus weakening the material of the bolt. When you try remove these even when you do get the correct size spline key...

Ford Fiesta Locking Wheel Nut Removal. These can be removed without drilling or welding if you are careful. The top of this locking wheel nut is designed to shear clean off soon as you put a typical socket on the top. The top is only held on by a flimsy bit of aluminum that is designed to twist off as soon as you place a socket on the top of the nut. I used a 21 millimeter smooth bore socket, i...
Milwaukee Packout Toolbox Storage System Independant Honest Review.

The Milwaukee Packout, is pretty good. I've had several toolboxes over the years but all have failed in some way. I've cracked lids, broken hinges, broken fasteners and clasps. For years I've wondered why manufactures didn't produce a modular tough toolbox that lives up to the task. In my opinion this is the first system providing true rugged, well thought out modularity, providing all sorts of...

If it does not have a spinning collar then most of the time it can be removed using a impact socket. I use a set of Sealy / bluespot smooth bore conical socket. Get a cold bladed chisel and a lump hammer, then hit the collar on the edge and it should break or snap. Then bang a 19mm socket, or one that is tight, and remove it that way.

    I have several sets of reverse thread removers..they are all thin walled. The prob with halfords type is that they only fit car wheels that have lots of room where the bolt / nut sits because the walls are so thick. Plus its a two socket pack..so only two sizes! But its a real go to if you have lots if room in your rim and its the correct diameter for your locking wheel nut.Positive point with these halfords is that they will not crack! Bad news is the halfords reverse thread will not fit these type of locking wheel nuts at all. You have to physically remove the spinning collar to fit a very small reverse thread. Halfords are way to big for these.

    Is a reverse locking nut remover useless for this job ?

    • @wheelrepairs
      @wheelrepairs ปีที่แล้ว

      The reverse thread socket will not work with these type of locking wheel nuts as the spinning collar makes the threaded socket useless. You would have to remove the collar first and then purchase a very small diameter reverse thread to fit over the center stud, or fit a standard 6 sided small socket.
