Workshop Wasteland
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 ม.ค. 2011
This is my space, it’s cluttered and unorganized but that’s just the way I like it. This channel will be a place to share machining, small engine mechanics and repair, knife making, 3d printing and who knows what else. Just a place for me to share the interesting things I work on in my little wasteland of a workshop.
DyKem gripe! wonderful product, terrible brush
Just curious if anyone else hates the brush inside of DyKem layout fluid bottles. May have found a solution! Will post an update at some point be it good or bad.

มุมมอง 27414 วันที่ผ่านมา
Real quick down and dirty review of the Eccentric Engineering Diamond Tool Holder. First impression are it works fantastic. I played around more since the video and have no complaints. Excited to have this in my tool rotation on the Southbend lathe. Please like, comment and subscribed if you found this interesting Link to the tool: rb.gy/h7x9zr

heat treat video

Just a quick video very briefly describing my heat treating process. Of course there is more to it than this like normalizing.
First shot with the CVA 50cal.

Also level your print bed the old school way, auto bed level can only do so much
@@snowpython good tip, you are right auto level on goes so far.
Use a pencil not a over engineered pen when you get to space. 😏
i rarely clean mine havent really had any issues like that maybe enclosure is a factor
@@AG-sy4wt I have never had a print fail from coming loose, so many people on the net talk about all the labor it takes to clean the bed, not to mention glue and who knows what else. A pei sheet scrubbed quickly with steel wool has worked amazing for me for years. Glad your have great results as well. Happy printing
Great tip, I do the exact same thing and never have adhesion issues with my prints.
Thanks! Never left me down yet
Slick tip, I'm always scrambling for something to mix epoxy on
Yeah they need to do something about that brush. Hopefully some folks have some good solutions.
Gary from eccentric engineering has some videos on TH-cam about his diamond tool holders, not just for soft material. I have one and find it great especially on a small machine designed for HSS. Cheers
Those resins will extend the burn time of the paper as well in case you wanted to use it a third time as biomass
Love this tip!
Can't wait for more, let's learn together!!
Very cool Jerry!
The included sharpening fixture results in an 80 degree cutter angle when looking straight down with cutter set at center-line of the work-piece. So if you set the tool for a 5 degree clearance, for turning or facing, you automatically get the same clearance angle for cutting in the opposite direction. A great time saver. I used these at home at at work for over 20 years.
@@henryk7099 great info, I have not used it much yet but so far I am quite happy with it.
Keep up the great work man !
Great review, thanks for sharing!
Nice little mini mill build
Great video, short and on the spot. I'm looking forward to the links, but I couldn't find them in the description.
Sorry about that, I posted the video, tried to upload the links but have to wait for an account verification. I’ll let you know as soon as I post the links.
Links added, sorry for the delay!
Great intro video and really nice mods on the end mill. Looking forward to your future videos.
I don’t know think I’ll stick with my old Manuck nuk😁
That feels decent built SIR GEE

Fg knot video for you is out
Cool build, how have you found it now that you have had it for a while?
Its an awesome machine man. Could not be happier. I have since added a small wheel setup and lots and lots of belts. Recently got a larger diameter wheel to grind hollow grinds on razor blades
Looks good man! Have you tried interrupting the quench just after it goes black? I am not a HT expert, but I understand that the longer it stays in the Martensite conversion stage the less stress is in the steel and the better the conversion. I think it goes like cool to under 850°F (450°C) then slowly cool to tempering temp. I am SS guy, so never tried, but worth looking into. Keep up the great work! Dan
D.Comeau Custom Knives I have not tried that. I will research it
