MONTSERRAT CABALLÉ TEACHING (MOMENTS FROM SEVERAL MASTERCLASSES)
Caballé says that many singers with beautiful, promising voices are having very short careers nowadays (5,6,7 year careers) all over the world because of the lack of knowledge and practice of the correct intake of breath and sustaining the sound on the breath. Her teacher, at the beginning, asked her: “When you go to the bathroom, where do you feel the pressure? High in the chest? or lower?” Ca...

Hola! Gracias por tu comentario. Pues mira, la mayoría de las masterclass son en audio solamente, pero aquí te dejo 2 videos en los que puedes verlo trabajando con estudiantes: Después de la marca de tiempo 23:38: th-cam.com/video/TIsm2ekI5bU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BDrt_TROQT65TDwa th-cam.com/video/coDHMnU0wNs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tTCYye30CPOw9gV0
Pavarotti grande mestre
We need more teachers like this, in all fields! She truly was the real deal.
What a gem of a human being ❤️
I would have just about wet myself having to sing for my favorite Puccini soprano. Interesting she uses a translator as she was married to the great Nikolai Ghiarov I would've thought she knew a bit of Russian....in fact a bit later in her career Ghiarov got her to sing some Russian operas..... Tchaikovsky!
Nicolai was brillant. What is his second Name?
If you look at historical 18th and 19th century singers most studied every day with their teacher. Today singers can barely afford one lesson a week. They were drill in solfegge, all the necessary ornaments required including trills. With the advent of Wagner and Versimo opera these ornaments became less important. Unfortunately they were also necessary in Puccini, and Wagner. Think of the trills especially for sopranos in Manon Lecaut, Nedda, Brunhilde to name three. Some agilty was also needed for instance in L'altra notte. I would love to find someone who'd be willing to work daily with me! Preferably in Italy, Germany, Scotland or Austria since I plan to move abroad next year.
I like pappano on the channel this is Opera archive
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
If you want to know how to do this in your singing technique as a Tenor contact Maestro Pierinotti at Pierinotti Academy and he will be pleased to help you with this that involves much more of what Luciano says here since he is not explaining that he doesn't sing like the other singers, he is using tilt larynx technique in an agressive way and other way of supporting the voice, that is less agressive than the support used by other singers of those times, he arrived to the covered technique by Arrigo Pola, imitating him, and that technique as the singing technique is totally different of what most of the Tenors do while singing, that's why he sound so different. Maestro Pierinotti learned from Aragall, Freni, Amauri (teacher of Jose Cura) between many other important singers and teachers, through more than 30 years. And he specially went to learn from Mirella Freni one complete year to learn the technique Luciano Pavarotti uses as Freni shared with him the knowdlege and big part of the lessons and career and one year with Giacomo Aragall that shared a lot of knowdlege with Luciano as they sang together and were friends as Aragall used to tell with beautifull anecdotes of them. You can take advantage of all this knowdlege if you are Tenor, Soprano or Counter Tenor and want to approach that technique.
Genial
Epoca maravillosa. Muy cercano sorprende en cada momento. Magnifico.❤
😮❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂
For kwhang to come out and sing that classic is brave but i think he doesnt know any better. Jussi's version is what pavorotti goes to bed to.
That beautiful redheaded Italiana had a beautiful voice!
Tenor Jung's performance is so amazing.

I wonder if any of those students went on to have decent careers? That poor tenor though struggled so badly from a bad technique through and through. Pav knew his technique could not serve him well in the arias he selected.

ugh. Pappano is a late night talk show host. He asks a question and then cuts off the person while answering the question.

This masterclass lifts up my dopamine and serotonin 😂levels
Did the author of this video delete my comment and responses?
One of two possibilities: If the comments were disrespectful, then yes, I deleted them. If they were not disrespectful, then probably youtube deleted them because I had not reviewed the comments in 30 days (All comments have to be reviewed and approved by me before being published). TH-cam deletes them automatically if more than 30 days have gone by without review. If that is the case, my apologies. Feel free to repost them as long as they were curteous and respectful. Thank you.
It would be wonderful to know who the singers are. The soprano singing Desdemona has a very lyrical, more like a lyric coloratura? Definitely not a full lyric. She has very little if any chest voice.
At 28:24 is Alteouise De Vaughn. She is my singing teacher - she is amazing. Her son is Justin Michael Austin, a well known baritone and rising star.
Excellent! Thank you for the translation!
Maschuga san
....sorry for gushing all over your post --- just So many wonderful memories connected to that book
My favorites to sing from there are Se tu m'ami, and Sebben crudele Favorite lyrics? Nel cor Mi pizzichi, mi stuzzichi Mi pungichi, mi mastichi "You pinch me, you tease me You sting, you Bite me!" But --- Such a pretty melody!!! 😊😊😊
I will say -- I saw Pavarotti sing "Per la gloria" at the Masterclass he did in early 1979 (Jan/Feb?) at Julliard. Completely different song than I'd ever heard among all my school mates in college...Lolol A whole new respect for those songs ---- Never Mind hearing him coaching the Singers!!! I remember working with a tenor on E lucevan -- and his descriptions of how to sing "e muio disperato" with all this "frontal focus"/tenor ping" has stuck with me 45 years later!
When I view this, I try to put myself into the position of the Master Class participants. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in physics. I imagine the trepidation I would experience if I were to present before the pinnacle of physics theory: Einstein, or the pinnacle of pedagogy: Feynman. Would I have been able to perform? I'm certain, that - if I had been able to keep my s*@t together, and if I were to have performed as well as these Master candidates, I would have taken the input from the assessments and would forever pursue my dreams without limit!
