This Viet Vet sends sincere thanks for remembering and re-telling the history of the My Lai massacre in this clarifying context of mindfulness. If only ....
I wish there was a way they could explain this in more simple terms. I am in the midst of an episode of major depressive disorder, and this was over my head.
What do I need right now? I love the simple response- some sleep, a glass of water, a step outside, a stretch, …
Simple words that describe straightforward practice that really takes a lifetime to adopt. Thank you 😊
original vedic meditation just had a mantra to bring us to that space of natural awake awareness, so by passing the mind and thinking ... whereas mindfulness seems to engage the MIND quite a bit, am I right ? I have to think quite a lot during a mindfulness meditation whereas just gocusing on a chant seems to bring me more quickly to that space we are wishing to remember , that place where we know our true selves ... in other wprds we are remembering something, rather than trying to create it by our will ...
Hi, I’ve just finished listening to all the chapters on Spotify audio book. I’m now at the stage of starting the meditations. I thought I heard Mark say they take 30 minutes every day, however, they add up to around 60 minutes. So I’m a little confused on what I’m supposed to do. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

What?
Time 7pm New Zealand I practice Mindfulness everyday. The challenge is to put it into practice in our everyday life. Even though I engage in formal practice daily. I still unfortunately have periods of depression. I have had this a lot of my life but I truly think Midfulness is very important as a useful tool. Will always do it. The befriending of ourselves is the challenge. Thank you so much.
Mindfulness meditation did not work for me? What on earth does that mean? How can it not work? Meditation is just being, there is nothing to do or "work". Maybe the guy means the set up of a formal situation did not work for him? Many people find this, especially in groups because they feel self conscious. Mindfulness is merely finding reality under the illusion of the matter hologram. I am looking forward to prof. Kukens talks starting on Tuesday.
Prof Kuyken is such a generous soul. We are delighted (and grateful) to welcome him back to the Manchester Mindfulness Festival next month!
I was so sorry to miss the session, because I wasn’t allowed to enter the evening zoom session although I had registered. There must have been a problem
beautiful reading of a beautiful story. Thank you Susan for this lovely narration. This brought a wonderful spot of love to my Thursday morning after a week of some illness. Remen's words have always been healing to me and I am so thankful for this moment of peace and joy.
I wonder about the intersection with childhood trauma too. This book has fully and completely transformed and improved my life. As someone who has recently been forced to confront long supressed severe childhood traumas, learning how to sense forage and the techniques in this book are unlocking my trauma (guilt/shame). Allowing me to process my life and access positive affect in ways that feel like they've been dormant and out of my grasp for most of my life. Thank you Norman. Thank you Zindel. I feel true happiness and excitement for the first time in many years.
See Jane Roberts/ Seth Material to see how he defines Feeling Tone - in particular 'The Nature of Personal Reality' -
Pl can you advise how we can access this course @ Oxford? Thanks.
Mindfulness and the OMF are life changes! 💕 Great post! Thank you! 🥰
in all your 'doing', remember, there is also 'being'.
Have you explored the intersection of your work with childhood trauma and the ramifications of children who grow up in a state of constant stress and what this does to the brain going forward vis a vis the (often inability to sense forage (bc of the constant state of stress their brain is under)? And similarly for hoarders (who very well might also have had childhood trauma) who hold onto things perhaps bc the material possessions remind them in some way of part their of life lived where they floated through with very little ability to sense forage; that possession brings back a small slight sense of that life to them that they intuitively know they passed by w/o really experiencing or living?
Would it be possible to have this two day training with USA friendly times-I feel this is such an important sharing! I am thinking I would like to study this for my doctoral dissertation. So pleased to see that Megan Colletta is a fellow LCSW!
thank you so much for this!
I so enjoyed listening to this So, interesting and informative and such good news for those of us with depressive tendencies.
