Being a Newbie in Tarkov: What Happened in My First Month?
in this video I put together clips from pc game Escape from Tarkov (EFT). These highlights are some of my kills. really liking the mechanics of this game and hardcore details. hoping to progress to get better at headshots and figuring out the ammo and proper movements to raise my k/d. Currently at a 2.12 K/D which is low in this game because A.I. bots are I think counted in k/d. I have died a lot, seen many many hackers in this game but it's so damn good, it's still worth it.

If you can lockpicks rusty's and silver's you can make about 40-90k per run at nuclear power plant in the new 0.8 SCUM update. Just make sure to grab your Hazmat suit from a regular bunker around the map outside of Nuclear first!

In this video I describe and show that holding bobby pin lockpicks inside inventory makes a breaking sound which can be confused for your gloves breaking. If you dump the bobby pin lockpicks on the ground instead, you will only hear the gloves breaking.

how to know how much we can turn without hitting the wall? for me hitting the wall is the indicator i need to adjust my mouse position either to right or left but this method is very frustrating and only valid for world lock. (he answered in comment below)
i have 60% basic thievery and it takes to much time to do it like that on iron locks ?? and on top of that lock close imediately sometimes when relising f key for no reason you mybe know why ??
What I dont get is why everyone on the video has more tries when they "hit the wall" as you said. My lockpicks always break on the 6th hit. Your lockpicks dont break even on the 8th hit. Why is that? Im tapping really lightly. My thievery is advanced. No gloves. Advanced picks
no1: i think the system can be changed and everyone should be able to do the miniGame of lockpicking! it can be implemented a system of cumulative trials: if you have ZEROthievery you gonna need more RUSTYminiGamesTrials(lets say..150), if you are ADVANCEDthievery you gonna need 30trials...and all for GOLDlocks..if the lock is SILVER..lets say 20trials for an ADVANCEDtheieveryPlayer... soooo..everything will be about TIME ! ..can be balanced with the time of finding grenades, C4, rocketLauncher/HE40mm and you gonna chose whats better/faster for your team: to lockPick or destroying the walls; no2 :also i have another IDEA about a different system of lockpicking: carrying an HEAVYobject to gate like an electronic device with radius(like electricity generator already in the game ); to carry with one player/character you gonna move very slow or.. you cannot move without 3-4players carrying that electronic/electricHEAVYmachine/object or that HEAVYobject can be in 2-3-4variants of different radius or different weight for each radius! also this SYSTEM can be cumulative with the first solution; solutions EXISTS! ..devs need just a little more work :)
the fact that you are consistently making your first move very close to the sweet spot is very suspicious. Also in your comments you mention Mattgodx as being a good lp is just laughable...he is a confirmed cheater.
Like hacker cheater or cheating the locks somehow? I dunno about the suspicious thing you’re accusing me of tho. I have about 500-700 hrs of lockpicking under my belt. Think what you will.
I have been struggling with learning how to pick locks. We are wiping our server so when I get back in I am gonna try this method for sure. Thanks for sharing this tutorial with us !

so the core info is that you will be able to see differences in how far the lock moves even without it hitting the wall? that would indicate that given youre pumping at a stable frequency the lock should move faster the closer you are to the unlock-spot?
You're def a lockpicker. lol. That's a great question. Frequency is def a big thing. Too fast and the anti-spam code kicks in and forces it to hit the wall, break, or reset....which can look like lag or feel like it. If your doing fast but not too fast without hitting the walls too much yes locks will open easier. Im struggling to explain this I guess but if you find a rhythm you can avoid the timer more, and avoid hitting the walls often. Bringing your unlock ratio up. This probably wasn't a best reply but I struggle a bit to explain it myself. I literally have practiced lockpicking for probably over 100 hours by now on my account.
@@mrMotex do you know wether a Joystick or steering wheel could be used to control the picks Position? That could give you a nice visual confirmation of its position without the movement of the lock itself in it.

Yea this was a while back. Now I just get the containers where you get the suits in the big room with the uranium. Form their your good.
Any suggestions for mouse sensitivity settings for lock picking?
I haven't been able to pick a single gold lock but after looking this video multiple times and kept practising for some hours I cracked multile ones in a row already. Thank you.

what is your mouse lockpicking sensitivity?
I pick at a high DPI because I prefer it. 1200 DPI. In game sensitivity 20.
Great video. Key cam is a big help. Think I’ve been a bit heavy on the F key once I find first opening. Only took medium thievery and about 5% of way to advanced. Time to get back into hitting that lock picking board.

In the final in the secondary are you moving really slowly while tapping F? Or just normal movement while tapping F? My issue is that I can handle the lockpick whiteout break the lockpick but I can't open it only like 2/10 trys. So I want to know if I need to move really slowly in the secondary or a normal movement while im tapping F?.
I move in between taps. It’s a timing. If you move too much during f press it can break or reset. Looks like lag.

Will you please make a new video, on gold and silver locks. Not only talking us through this but also showing us your mouse and keyboard on screen as you pick, including the settings. It is impossible for me to pivotal gold locks, with advanced pick and black screw driver and advanced thievery. Like how to you find the soft spot, and then once I find it, it always slips past it, or I've found the spot after too many attempts so it always breaks before I can even start to try to feather. Do you have a pressure sensitive keyboard?
Actually I have a crappy membrane keyboard. Top lockpicker a who do golds in 3 or less tries consistently use mechanical kb”s that you can adjust timing and have less latency then most keyboards. I’ll see what I can do thank you

i do lockpick easily the cargo , the armory and stuff , it's a piece of cake , but for the golden lock i struggle with this issue : i.imgur.com/XBzkR5K.png it goes to the very end but no success ! and it happens a lot ! and i do have advanced thievery
Hey man, thanks for the content. Im having an issue of when to actually start moving the mouse left and right. Is it in between F presses? Or is it at the same time as you are pressing F? sometimes the lockpick will snap back to the middle when I am moving my mouse while tapping F. thanks again

Tell me did you upgrade the keyboard. Because I suffer from HyperX .. I have also been assigned a side F button in my Logitech 502 mouse. 800dpi
I was planning to upgrade my keyboard to a mechanical keyboard I forgot the model but you could adjust the timings on button presses. I was lock picking with a membrane keyboard so that made it very difficult to practice. I do know some guys that have assigned the F key to the mouse and adjusted the timing for probing but as for lockpicking with the sidekick I don’t know anyone who does that, But I’m sure you can train yourself to do it
@@mrMotex Indeed, I allocated the side button, and that was easy.. because the HyperX tablet is not good at repetition. But I really suffer from the movement of the mouse, it confuses me sometimes.. @@jksb4172 depends how much you like moving your mouse. i would try 14-20 maybe? youll know what you like just mess with it and practice a lot. you could also do like 10 golds with one setting, then 10 on another and write down your stats. might help make sure mouse acceleration isnt in in windows too.
Great video I have the f key bound to my side mouse button would this make it harder to feather ? Would I be better using the keys on my keyboard as I can push the lighter compared to a click button on my mouse ? Subbed for sure 😊

I think the new people's problem is no one explains that you need to physically move your mouse left or right. Theres nothing in game that explains it which there should be a tutorial. You did it really well. I'm glad I looked it up because I almost completely gave up on lockpicking even though I'm advanced in it....

That's why I've got that high lock picking skill as well. Everyone's so concerned about strength that you can gain easily.
Yes you are correct I took 1 strength cuz I wanted a few things this wipe. It’s not too bad and except driving till fixed I’m happy with it.
@@mrMotex Strength can mostly be attributed to timing and strategic movement in SCUM. Don't make hasty decisions unless forced into a corner. Be patient. Opportunity can be your biggest ally.

Do you change your dpi for lockpicking?
Yes. I play most pvp games at 400. For lockpicking in scum I switch to 1400 dpi when I'm at the lock, then I go back down to 400 when I'm done. I lockpick at a high dpi because I don't have a lot of table space.

Hey motex.. starting to do killboxes solo (want to have that ability) so I've got one more question.. should I *lower* the lockpicking mouse sensitivity in the settings? for the smaller sweetspots on the silver and mainly gold
The “In Game Sensitivity”? YES! I have mine at 20. I have run at 40. So my normal now is 1400 DPI & 20 in game sense. Normal lockpickers usually run about 400dpi and 20-40 in game sense. Pick something that fits your table space and practice. If it still sucks adjust. Don’t forget muscle memory takes a while to learn your new settings. If you flip flop too much without muscle memory you’ll end up like me….being able to pick at 400 800 1400 lol. Anyways, reach out if you need more help.

Great though because I was wondering on that when I started practicing killboxes the other day. My picks kept breaking because once I found the opening and would try to adjust for the secondary, I'd over shoot with the slightest move of my mouse and break it.
