Ty so much, been searching on TH-cam for awhile about the lockpickin in scum but couldn't find any. Finally a great tutorial with tips and tricks. And the way you did it made it easy to understand! Good job Motex ♥
As someone who's been lock picking since release and averaging 20 to 30 fps on my laptop very successfully I can confirm this lol, I still wasn't great though.. the day I got to lock pick on 60 plus I felt like a God lol
@@mrMotex No worries bru but im gonna have to watch this more than once to implement everything. It’s like you gave me school assignments to do here lol
Thx for the video. I Cant seem to figure out what to do when it starts moving. The wiggling you do in your video. I hold f to long when it's turning and the pick breaks easily. When do you know to press f again
It’s called feathering, or spamming the F key. Hard to explain, and I totally forgot to add it on video. You can’t spam it too fast as it’ll cause the pick to break from hitting wall. Theirs a timing to it, and in between those hits you can adjust the mouse. If you hit f and move mouse same time it can cause what looks like lag or hitting a wall. Takes practice, try it with lockers or rusty to develop the skill. That skill (feathering, spamming, pumping) is the one that raises your success rates. Lot of muscle memory. I’ll try making a video about it, on its own.
@@Slade359 Yes I’ve seen guys set really quick push down only macros and it’ll let you spam more to help reduce the breakage. Theirs also a keyboard (like $200 usd) that can do something more advanced and I know top lock pickers use it.
Just what I needed Motex, I thought it would look stupid to impose yourself to lockpick 50 or 100 a day but now that I have this advice from a master, I'll go for it Thanks again bro🙏🔐🕐
Hello, I want to thank you for your video 🤝 I've been playing for three years and only after watching your video did I understand how to do it 🤣. Respect for you
Once you master the feathering technique your on your way to becoming an advanced picker, I spend a whole lot of my time at the beginning messing about with settings and trying to get more fps but ultimately it really didn't matter. Unless you master the feather then your lockpicking journey will be over pretty quickly as most people just get fed up. Great tutorial anyway 👍
Settings do help in the beginning. Don't overlook that so easily. I play on ultra settings and don't use the FPS tricks anymore, but back when I was getting better at feathering it did help. I will be explaining feathering on it's own. I do agree that if you don't learn about feathering, you will prob give up on lockpicking though. That does make a lot of sense. Thx
remember! the best thing for lockpicking is to practice feathering f EFFICIENTLY, meaning quick while also being very accurate :) Also ALWAYS lockpick with advanced skill its pretty much a waste putting medium into thievery
@@vitahlity5705 good question. Lots of different nicknames for the technique. Pumping, spamming, feathering. So basically it’s just tapping the F key quickly in a rhythm but also adjusting to what’s happening with the lock. The more travel the longer the press, the shorter travel or just probing direction is very light and fast. Hope this makes more sense. Not many videos explaining what feathering is.
Very informative guide. Great that you stepped "outside" the game and talked about how game Settings can influence lockpicking, a very nice touch! Awesome tip on the Steam in-game FPS counter... I had no idea that existed!
Hey Zadd! Thank you very much for the feedback. Yea I’m glad I showed some of that. Thinking of a keyboard capture display for the next video so I can better explain the feathering as I struggled while making this video how to even go over it. I’m actually happy I will make that it’s own video, as it’s more advanced and I want to break it down.
Hi, I was watching your raid last night. You want a great trick? Before you raid a base, put your graphic settings to low, now you will see all mines that you thought was hidden in the bushes. The lower graphics takes away the foliage and all you see is the mines.
the fact that you are consistently making your first move very close to the sweet spot is very suspicious. Also in your comments you mention Mattgodx as being a good lp is just laughable...he is a confirmed cheater.
Like hacker cheater or cheating the locks somehow? I dunno about the suspicious thing you’re accusing me of tho. I have about 500-700 hrs of lockpicking under my belt. Think what you will.

Glad you liked the video Karina, I will be making another video related to raiding tips that I've picked up as well. Thank you!
Extremely informative and very well put Motex! Thanks for the great content! Keep it up!
Thank you very much tazzy! See you ingame bud.
Thanks for the video packed full of tips and tricks. Good shit.

Great video man, super informative. Gave me some motivation to keep practicing. Thanks for all the tips!!
Excellent video on lock picking.
Thank you Taylor!

Very very informative. Good work 👍🏾

Yes, practice helps a lot and it won't burn up your tools on the practice board. Thank you!
Well given infos, Im gonna try all u said. Ive never lockpick a gold lock yet :)
You can do it! Thanks
@@mrMotex do you use other dpi setups ? If you use may I know where do u use
40,000 gold locks to max out skill is absolutely ridiculous, especially considering how often these big updates come out that require a character wipe
Not only ridiculous probably impossible
4000 prob in 1-3 months without burning out but 40k lol. Then a wipe….no thanks. They need to fix

Would be nice if they would just fix lockpicking. This amount of work to get the game to function adequately is dumb.
