It was such a great book adaptation! I think the book goes beyond this point and the movie to me felt like "Part 1" but it was such a great stand alone if that makes sense! I remember him going to the prison to talk to his brother for instance.

I’m so glad you reacted to this movie, I feel like it got overlooked during the actors strike and it feels like not enough people are talking about it. I saw it in the theater last year when it came out and i loved it so much, I immediately bought both books and read them back to back. Such a great story in book and movie form!

I think what so special and amazing about this series is that it’s so relative to anyone no matter their age, sexual orientation, gender/sexual identity, or even their physical and mental attributes. It’s completely diverse, and I love it for that. This series has helped me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I feel like a combination of Nick, Isaac, and Mr. Farouk. Love your reaction! Yey! But I don't think keeping the school open would work, not as long as they only have rich kids there. I totally believe in integrated schools w kids from various backgrounds, to challenge systemic racism, sexism, classism etc. Personal relationships is an important step! Just my two cents 😊 The Swedish inspectorate only closes schools when it's lite an emergency so this signals that there might have been even more violence and bad stuff going on. There are very few boarding schools like this in Sweden and the few that still exist are known for these issues in a way that no other schools here are. It's how unsupervised they are here that is part of the problem, along with the privilege of course.

Thank you for another wonderful reaction!! I agree that it's not Simon's job to educate him, but I do think teenagers do learn from each other in this way, through social relationships. Not everything can be googled and then magically stays with you, especially if it goes against everything you've learned before. He's practically grown up in a cult. Some things have to be experienced, or shown to you through people you love or at least have a connection to. Of course, if it's too much for Simon, he should not do it - I just think Wilhelm is progressing as fast as he can given the circumstances. It's hinted at quite a bit, like through how Felice's dad describes his time at Hillerska, when Felice says she hasn't thought much about the intiations or school traditions before, or when Vincent says he thinks Simon is probably 'the only one' at Hillerska who cares Workers' Day. Hillerska is part of the same cult as the royals.

Call me a romantic, but I genuinely loved this movie. I’ve read the book, the collection edition, and I’ve seen the deleted scenes which are amazing. How could they upgrade besides a sequel or series; a Broadway-West End bound musical. Just saying… 🇺🇸🇬🇧🏳️‍🌈❤️🤍💙

i was just like you in the end. when the edit started, my soul almost left my body, i was a mess 😭😭 i personally identify a lot with wille, he is exactly me a few years ago. seeing him finally understand what he wants to be made me very proud and relieved. i'll never get over this show 😭😭😭❤❤

it was so funny how at the premiere edvin screamed excited when the scene between wille and sara appeared on screen and most of us were so confused why he suddenly got so excited until we realized it was the first time these two interacted with each other haha

You know what, when I think about the difference between August and Vincent being jerk, Vincent's, ehm, jerkness is kinda more, I don't know, disgusting for me in a way. Like, Vincent, as you said, is racist, homophobic, sexist and any other kind of "-ist" jerk, whereas August is mostly just a jerk, without any real... preferences like that? At least he doesn't live his life for constantly making vErY sMaRt JokEs about any kind of people. August for me looks like a person who actually can develop into something bearable and maybe even more than that, but with Vincent I'm just... meh. Maybe I remember s1 too bad to recall all August's voicelines, and later he was just too overwhelmed with his problems to actually do that stuff. In any case, it's fun to discuss)

In the scene with Wille and August at the party when August apologizes to Wille, he is talking about how Eric wouldn't have cared about a video about two boys. They talk about the one shown at the initiation, but August also means the video he took from Wille and Simon. As a part of his apology he points out that the video of Wille and Simon wouldn't have changed Erics feelings for his brother. I wonder if I'm the only one thinking of it like that.

I agree that closing down the school wasn't the best call - obviously the school couldn't go on as is but I feel like they displaced the problem to another elitist boarding school that will probably have a similar hierarchy and prejudice. What's worse is that that other school won't even have an 'inspection board' or whatever to oversee to the students welfare. I loved the lake scene (absolutely breathtaking shots), the writing, the little details (August playing the King piece, I'm so happy you caught it I haven't seen anyone else react to that) and all the parallels. I started crying when the choir changed the Hillerska song to Simon's song and it was all downhill from there - crying headaches are REAAAL! I loved that Simon and Wilhelm both took decisions for themselves and found their way back together - Wille definitely has a lot of work to do still on himself but I'm certain he's in a better place to that work. I loved the last look into the camera too - it's the first time we see him smile calmly and be genuinely comfortable and happy with where he is. Thank you for all your reaction videos!!

It’s important to remember that the Queen doesn’t make all the decisions. She didn’t personally choose Agust as the next in line. She has orders to follow as well. People think this was all on Wille’s mom but it wasn’t. She’s just as controlled by others as Wille is

Okay PLEASE help me! Agust said “this is beyond us. It’s about protecting the crown”. WHAT do a handful of high schoolers taking drugs have to do with the monarchy? To this day I STILL dont understand. He can’t have just meant protecting Wille because if he had meant that, he simply would’ve left him out of it. And he would’ve told the society “even if we get in trouble no one mentions Wille is involved”. But that’s not what he meant. So how are they protecting the monarchy? And what are they protecting it from!?? *also yes, I realize this video is years old. I’m going through withdrawal and decided to rewatch my fav young royals content haha

I'm 14 and i have NEVER cried that much when i watched episode 6! I was a hot mess, and then my mom came in and she was like "why are you crying?" And i just pointed at my TV because i couldn't say anything and so my mom goes "is it the episode you waited for?" And i go "YES!" when i was bawling my eyes out. For me it was so hard to say goodbye to a show that made me a person that I am now. Young Royals gave me confidence in so many different ways. I found Young Royals when I was 12! So on July 1st 2021 thats when i knew that this show would be my show to cry, laugh, to get happiness! And with me being a teenager i related to this show in so many ways! YOUNG ROYALS BABY💜👑

The school closing was in reality that the school inspectorate saw that the school couldn't ensure a safe environment (for children away from their legal guardians) and that the school repeatedly hasn't done enough to adress the systematic issues that has come to light earlier. It was never about "oh if we take the school down these hierarchies and systems will disappear" but rather that the environment was deemed dangerous. IRL there are only two of these boarding schools left operational in Sweden today and the events at Hillerska are based on the temporary closing of Lundsberg in 2013. Lundsberg school is however operational today. There is a short english Wikipedia article about the school and the scandals for some further reading.

I said it in another comment section and I'll keep saying it because it's true. What absolutely kills me is when Wilhelm and Simon stop kissing at the end when Felice and Sara interupt them to ask if he is going with them, Wilhelm looks so much younger. He genuinely looks like the weight of the world has been ripped from his shoulders and looks like a happy teenager rather than a teenager having to act like a grown man.

You said something very important: That Simon basically doesn’t have any real friends at Hillerska. I would go further and say: He more so has bullies like Vincent and August… His best friends go to a different school. So when the choir sang his version of the song at the graduation, it was such a validating moment for him. It was a wonderful gesture, showing him that he is important and valid and had a positive impact on other people! I sobbed during that scene 😭💜

Totally random question for you: do you ever rewatch the show after you’ve filmed your reactions? Just in case you maybe missed something while you were reacting? I personally always rewatch a show at least 2x hahaha to catch everything I miss 😂😂

Hello.Thanks for your reactions. I enjoy this show so much. I wish it would never end. I am okay with Simon's decision but not the timing!! He could have waited a few more hours and not dumped him on his birthday. That was kicking someone when they are down!! But other than that I did understand but hated it.

He can't actually abdicate until he's king. He can make his stance known but he actually can only give his intentions. They can treat August like that but the line is pretty strict. Only a sitting monarch can abdicate.

When August becomes crown prince at the end, things come full circle to Season 2 Episode 1 when Wille talks with Felice and said: "I will punish him in my own way, you will see." With his renunciation of the crown and August's realization that the royal life is not so desirable after all, Wille has achieved exactly that. And August realizes this when he sees Wille leaving his parents' car - he suspects what happened. That's why you see him looking into the camera in shock

Brilliant reaction! As always, you pick up on stuff that many other reactors miss, including the significance of Sara speaking Spanish and the moments where logical character development occurs with these characters compared to where they were in previous seasons, including Simon being the one to make the first move at the party when his usual thing is to run away from his feelings and Wille letting go of his contempt for August long enough to see that even August had been a victim of the system at some point (and apologising on Erik's behalf, even when he had nothing to do with it). It's always a treat to watch your reactions. Shame that this is the last one for YR but I hope you continue to do more for other shows that you love. Your love for the show is very infectious (not that I needed convincing that it's an amazing show but your reactions made it doubly so!). Defo gonna check out your fanfic!! Maybe one day, we'll be buying your book or watching a show you wrote 💪🤘❤

I was also the whole episode a crying mess haha, so I feel your reaction a lot🥰🥹 I'm so proud how all the characters developed through this season and I was so happy how it ended.
