Sapphire and a ceramic bezel would really give this watch new life. The prices have dropped below 200 for a strapped version, maybe an upgraded version could be produced and sold for under around 450. They would sell like hotcakes.

For me it’s the refined ruggedness and its signature whimsical look that make it great. The green dial colorway in particular is just classic. Deep green and gold just makes you think of old world regality. The curves of the cathedral hands are reminiscent of Art Nouveau. Think of the brilliance of a Thomas Kinkade painting mashed up with the swooping lines of Lord of the Rings Elven swords.

I gotta give you props for mentioning the legibility issue at low angles for the 5610. That watch has been reviewed just as much as the PRX and no one ever mentions the low angle viewing problem. I have the 5600 basic square as well and not even that has a low angle problem! For a tool watch that just needs to work without compromises, I think Casio dropped the ball with the 5610. It's otherwise a fantastic watch.

For wrist size 6.1 inch, which one would you recommend?

I have the LIW bracelet shown here on my green model, but the best option is the stock Citizen bracelets with the on the fly adjustment clamp. Mine came on my green model but I moved it to my blue one because I wear it more. Not cheap at about $130, but I got a cheap deal for the green watch on bracelet instead of just buying the bracelet.

Genuine question, aside from historical reasons is there a reason for Nato straps not just being single pass? On a side note this video was very handy as now I’ll likely wear my non-single pass natos more often

I got mine in 2023, it reminds me of my dad with a similar bracelet. That’s what got my eye. I wouldn’t change the bracelet

Got one from Amazon for 29 bucks because all these TH-camr hype. What a terrible looking watch. It's tiny on my wrist. Had to return it as it's looks like a cheap knockoff even though it's a real Casio.

Aside from the rolex submariner hulk the spb121 specifically was the first watch I saw pictures of that made me audibly go WOW and really dive deeper into watches. It made me fall down the seiko rabbit hole as I worked my way up from a couple seiko 5 sports to a speedtimer to eventually the alpinist. There was and is just NOTHING like it. The unique and odd case silhouette, the beautiful inbetween of this emerald and forest green that shimmers with the light. It just all works soooo well with the gold applied numerals which add more character, elegance, and refinement imo. Not to mention the cathedral hands give it this vintage feel along with the numerals that brings those who know about the seiko laurel back to the heritage that is behind the alpinist and for those who don't know about the laurel give them this modern, premium, feeling sports watch with a slightly neo-vintage look

Watch people are funny he’s talking about and not being good value for the money and there’s other watches in that price point and field watches shouldn’t cost this much etc.. The only reason people get watches is because they like the brand they like the way it looks whatever I can go to Walmart and get a Watch that will work for the next 40 yearsfor $10 I think prices irrelevant

Good question… I understand it’s a popular piece, but the first word that comes to mind for me is “clutter.” I don’t think it’s awful, but it’s not on my radar, at least not at the moment. Taste can change, perhaps I’ll understand the appeal in the future.
