Moringa trees grow very fast and can be eaten as a vegetable or used as fodder it also increases milk production in mammals you also need to make water harvesting structures to recharge the land and aquifers the plastic lining won't recharge the land growing the moringa next to the ponds will also help shade them to reduce water evaporation the liner pond is a quick fix to water shortage but not a solution for the problem as you need to recharge the land with water. things I'd like to be fixed are - 1- Creating a quick succession food forest > you can look for videos from Geoff Lawton Permaculture YT Channel 2- increase planting density and variety 3- use the companion planting method > IE: three sister method and the like 4- increase the soil cover if not with plants at least with organic debris 5- incorporating chickens in the system look into Syntropic agriculture and Permaculture for help

A year or two later after selecting 3 to 5 shoots in an area and they get bigger, do we then thin again down to 1 or 2? In many of our areas there are no natural occurring trees. There are sage brush and oak brush. The oak brush can sometimes grow fairly tall - maybe 20 feet tall. I've wondered if by pruning and thinning the oak brush they might grow taller like trees. This area is in NW Colorado, USA Conversely in a video about the Bamberger Preserve near Austin, Texas, USA, they removed brush and cedar trees and encouraged deep rooted grasses to increase water infiltration into the soil. I'm wondering when brush and trees are helpful in increasing ground water and when they are not - any ideas? th-cam.com/video/ZSPkcpGmflE/w-d-xo.html

At least until desertification is adequately reduced dryland, food-producing trees, shrubs, vines, and perennials should be the primary source agricultural focus, as these offer more drought resistance while providing marketable goods. Add earthworks that repair gullies and harvest rainwater. Make sure to use pressured rotational grazing of livestock and you've increased food resilency, reduced flooding and the need to irrigate, and increased food capacity. This makes for stable governments, too.

Like two years ago, I told my friends that very soon women will be leading in nfd, and they laughed me off. This is testament to that. The men just want to laze around, waiting for hand-outs from relatives abroad, then brag about how farming is Bantu work, and not for them, But all hooyo cares about is sustenance, and not the braggadocio. May our women keep growing, keep rising.

Rain water collection systems need to become more common around the world. Every home and business building should collect rain water and store it. Swales need to be part of the landscape to reduce water run off and allow water to enter the soil and improve ground water.

Population needs to be in balance with jobs, resources, nature and the environment. Having a bigger population in any country than the country can support makes no sense. Access to food, water, shelter and jobs should guide population levels. The worlds population is still expected to add another billion people to feed, clothe and produce pollution.

This is great news! Enabling people to provide for themselves, and having a surplus that is never a problem to sell? Nutrition and education; The 2 most effective catalysts. This is how a "sustainable" rise out of poverty is properly done. This is how Government can help, instead of just distributing donated food. And! The pride and knowledge of one's self worth, one's ability to become an asset --- instead of a liability...? --- No amount of money can purchase THAT!

Ask these people are they happy to be a part of this process or would they prefer to fight each other. Because this is the state we are all in. We can pitch in and help which makes us even happier than the ones who receive it. We as families can all earn much money for ourselves which can give us stuff we don’t really need, or maybe we could reduce what we keep or even earn and move to somewhere we can help people like this. That would reduce our family facing boredom, obesity, cholesterol, some cancers, and maybe we could then pause the rush of our lives to smell the roses.
