You're crazy. This is literally the one used in the song, it definitely is mixed differently and not as prominent sadly.

It sounds like a 14 year old reading the TAB and playing along to the CD. The notes are correct but the rythymn is way off. And the tone is bad. Obviously not Carlos but whatever

@@Benjirocker This is so obviously Carlos that you're insane if you think not. There's just so many nuanced parts that are specific to the song that many covers just don't include/replicate. Just because you believe Carlos is some god that could never produce a sound like this doesn't change the fact this is clearly the original recording. The album was recorded live so there's definitely a reason for certain parts being slightly off beat (as well as the fact that when the drums are full volume they mask some of the timing error anyway). As others have mentioned, the signature jazz bass tone that you call "bad tone" is 1- something that people may like and 2- It's literally recorded live meaning that some of the bleed in from the instruments most likely caused some of the original tone to be lost when isolating the bass to make the other instruments less obvious.

@@danimation1915 I'm not saying Carlos was off beat - I'm saying the 14 YEAR OLD playing on this video this got the rhythm totally wrong. The rhythm in the verse starting at 0:38 is not even close. Compare this to the bass cover by Marco Colonnelli, who plays the part very accurately and with a nice fat tone matching the record much better

The so called "correct" version that you've led me to has mistaken Sam's Bass drum as an extra note played by Carlos. Its an easy mistake to make but I think the fact that the bassline and drums are so tight that they line up in such a way that they morph together is fucking incredible. Once again I urge you to look at any performance (even this video here which undeniably has the same drums) and tell me the bassline on this video is incorrect : th-cam.com/video/dgB0R-9QPYE/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=RuNeN00b If you go on to say "oh its clearly a different song because the tone is different" then THANK YOU! it proves the point that even though they are the same recording, the isolation of the other instruments are causing the tone and certain frequencies to be blocked out in order for the specific instruments to be heard on their own. Also nice one calling carlos's official playing that of a 14 year olds. Pretty funny Also quick note on the cover you sent - how am I supposed to trust a cover that doesn't even do the triplet notes in the outro? You can even clearly hear the bass overlapping from the original recording. Oh and guess what? Those triplet notes occur on this video because it's the correct bassline.
