do you know of any other small upgrades that can help up the horspower on the mr2 like the egr delete?
@@radw4ladder495 I mean other than pulling the engine and changing cams and rebuilding it, if you have an 87+ the intake was in the trunk but you can turn it into an actual cold air intake. Changing the muffler would as well, but even so you won't see many performance gains.
@ yeah that’s what I hear it’s kinda a bummer but that’s alright I’m also no willing to change everything in the engine to turbo it so idk Mabye I’ll get open headers
@@radw4ladder495 You can turbo it and run low boost without having to rebuild the engine.
That loud high pitched whine! Is the power steering about to fail?
Nope. They all do it
Moving the camera way to fast. Otherwise good review
I appreciate the feedback! I will keep that in mind
Looks like you didn't have fun at all... ;^)
Not at all... 🤣🤣 Especially the tree that was boring
@ivgarage I thought with a passenger you were testing the ejection seat!
@BryanPike ejecto seato cuz!
"secondary push button start? Are you daft? This button disables the fuel saving idle stop start feature, which BTW off road disables as well. Next to the hitch is a "NATO" plug.
Lmfao. Yeah when the car shuts off you press it and it starts the car back up again
@@BryanPike I was trying to be funny
@@ivgarageWe'll chaulk that up to low threshold of amusement.... 😊
Just rolled over my first 2k on my Grennie. Everything I hoped it would be. Build quality is fantastic... turning circle, not so much...lol
Yeah no, attitude is correct. Which is Pitch and Roll...
love the Ineos Grenadier..considering one vs Rivian R1S and Jeep Recon and Scout ev
If you want a dedicated off-road vehicle this is great. If you plan to daily it, I'm my opinion not good. It's primary purpose is for off-road and you start seeing that when you daily it. But it is an amazing machine!
Good review. Great attention to detail shows you actually found out how to work it all. Most (even apparently well subscribed) reviewers get so much wrong. My favourite idiot symptom is banging at switches like an angry chimpanzee trying to lock or unlock diffs.😂 well done!
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate it! Haha
Are you suggesting that any time air conditioning is on, you recirculate interior air? Typically, the “Recirc” feature is used for maximizing cooling rate and then disengaged once desired temperature is reached.
Not necessarily, the recirculation is better for when it's on and you're trying to make the car cool down faster but you don't need it to be on. Apologies on implying that.
@ Thank you, that is the way I have always used it. Nice review by the way!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the view!
Sorry for the many comments but I have been making comments as they came up while watching the video from start to finish. I have seen many reviews from around the world and that was probably the best I have seen. Calm, comprehensive and pretty well balanced. I have the diesel Grenadier with 30,000 kms and 12 months ownership and it is fantastic. I am averaging 10.3 litres per 100kms which is 22 US MPG or 27 Imperial MPG. th-cam.com/users/shortsrLlLfAcESmM
I appreciate the many comments. It helps out my viewers! Thank you so much for watching and I'm glad you like the review! I wish we got the diesel grenadier over here in the US.
Fuel economy improves over time as the engine and drivetrain wears in.
With 2k miles I have averaged 18.2mpg. If you gun it around town light to light you can expect 14.
The mute button is also the rest button for the display. Hold down for 30 seconds or until the screen goes blank. Can help reset faults and freezes
Whaaaa! GTK
The 500A outlet is standard regardless of getting the removable winch.
On the US models you can get a grenadier without the 500amp switch oddly enough
Headlights LED not HID and they are excellent, particularly high beam. Auxiliary lights are rubbish. They come on with high beam in Australia, if you select them on the roof switch.
Hey man appreciate this honest review, esp regarding the steering pump and the degree of the noise!
Of course! I'm here to get the information out there so you fully understand what's going on with the vehicle.
Great review. 🙂 A couple of points … The word “Attitude” on the off-road screen is not a mistake. Attitude refers to orientation relative to the horizontal (as in pitch and roll). Also your tyre pressures seemed excessively high. For fully loaded on-road they would have been OK. I run 36psi on-road, 28psi dirt roads, and lower again for technical off-road.
That makes sense for attitude. I never thought of that. The tires were definitely high. I personally like seeing them right around 36 on the street. It seems to ride better and handle better. This one was just set to where the door jam set to set them to. I appreciate you watching and commenting!
Thanks for the tree to my face I really appreciated that one
You're welcome 😊 I'm glad I could help 🤣🤣
Doug wants to have a word with you.😂. Just kidding nice video

How big of a storage unit is that? I'm think of renting one to store the garage while I renovate. 10 x 30?
@@berkeleytrue 15x60 actually. Haha. It's an RV storage unit. Definitely worth it!
I think you should buy the blue MR2 that’s almost done LOL
@@MayhemMotorsportsPensacola LMFAO. I think I should too
Hey, I also have 86 Mr2 and was wondering where can I locate grounding wire from chassis to transmission and negative battery terminal to chassis
You may not be able to get a factory one, but best bet is to get a new cable from Napa or build on that will be like the factory one. Best place to get stuff to build your own would be from prowireusa.com
Nice shirt
@@bsracing7537 oh thanks! I got it from this awesome place Fast Inc Limited!
If memory serves me correctly a guy named Mike from HKS USA had this set up on a white supercharged mr2. Then a guy named Alan with a baby blue supercharged mr2 bought the twincharger set up from Hks Mike. Alan was killing a lot of cars at the local street races. After Alan sold his Mr2, he sold the twincharger kit to Toysport and from there it ended up in Geralds white mr2 supercharged
Interesting. That's pretty crazy! Love hearing these stories
@@ivgarage again if memory serves me correctly Gerald San Agustin was doing 11 seconds in the quarter mile but instead of using the old school hks units like evc, gcc, boost scrambler, vpc etc, etc Gerald progressed into electromotive tec 2 during this time. I believe Gerald eventually became a very good tuner within the automotive industry. Back in those days 11 or 12 second quarter mile were very rare. I believe HKS had 2 stages of the 4ag twincharger kit. One at 260hp and the other at 380hp. Many many years ago I also talked to a friend of Gerald. Eric of EL prototypes (now closed) I guess they were in thinking of upgrading Geralds supercharger to a sc14 unit out of a toyota previa but unfortunately Gerald sold the car. Eric of EL prototypes at that time fabricated brackets to be able to use the sc14 on one of their cars. Which was a fx16 gts corolla with a 7AG plus the sc14 supercharger. I was able to get a ride on that fx16 and boy that really moved and gave a supra 7mgte with a t04 turbo a very good run (actually barely won because the supra had a slipping clutch)
@@ivgarage I wish Gerald would post videos of his twincharged mr2 in actio at LACR in Palmdale California dragstrip....
@@ivgarage Come to think of it Gerald San Augustin is the only one who might have dialed in that twincharger set up correctly. Imagine if he still had that set up today with the addition of E85 fuel in the tuning 😳
That's really awesome. I wish more people would mess around with this 4AGZE stuff. I just hate that it's becoming so rare nowadays
Spectacular review. I have watched 20-25 reviews on the Lyric by the BIG TH-camrs and the smaller, and I learned AT LEAST 8 things in your review that absolutely no one else addressed. Wonderful detail, greetings from Longmont.
I'm glad I could help! Thank you so much! I'm hoping to get back into car reviews very soon!
You can road trip with 300 miles of range and the charging network. You never drive more than 300 in one go
Cool! Im #1056. Got mine today with 43k original miles!
Heck yeah! That's awesome! Hope you enjoy it! Soon I'm going to make another video on what it has been like to daily drive it the past few months
I’m so confused on how to get the engine to to dead center 😭
Best bet is to remove the distributor cap and rotate the engine over until the rotor is lined up where cylinder 1 would fire
@@ivgarage that sounds a lot more clear than all the pulley markings people are talking about which I can’t seem to see . (which I still need for fine tuning with the timing light right ?)
Yes, you will still need to see those but you will see them when the timing light shines down onto it. I should have also specified before you remove the old distributor, pull the cap off and line it up where cylinder one would fire.
The reason you want to line it up there is because you still can be 180° out and install the distributor 180° out and it won't fire
@@ivgarage ahhh ok ok all this said, in the process of doing this how badly can I damage the engine if I don’t do it right the first time ?
I wasnt nearly as close to Zach as you were, but i did hang out with him a few times. An all around great guy. I remember Texting Kris and asking what was up cuz i heard gossip about Zach but knew nothing of it, and kris told me he was in hospital and i dropped everything and went to go see him that night myself. We lost a good soul and that car is in great hands. still want to drive it some day.
That's crazy. I didn't know that you went to the hospital that night. We definitely did lose a good soul. I will be getting on the Talon build as soon as the MR2 is complete. I'll definitely let you drive it especially when it's running better!
i cant help but imagine the pphc cars flying through those corners. such an amazing track
Same! I love these corners!
Glad you're feeling better. Feel free to talk openly to us fellow car guys. 👍👍
I appreciate it! Thank you so much!
Still trying to wrap my head around the fact you have 3 out of my 4 favorite cars. Not to mention, I feel like I know you somehow.
Haha. Which 3 cars? And maybe? I'm not sure. But I appreciate the comment and watch!
@@ivgarage aw11 I’ve had 3. That’s one I can’t go with out. Looks like you have a 1gb Dsm. I had a 1ga with all the standard mods. Let’s not forget the frs. I haven’t had one yet but I love the looks and I’ve wanted to swap a 2zz in one since they came out. I feel like it’d be a great match for power to weight. The only one you’re missing is the one I wish I never got rid of, 2jz swapped mrk 3 Supra. I miss that car.
That's awesome! I'm glad! Love my AW11. And It actually is a 1GA DSM oddly enough. Haha. I'll get more in depth of how I got that car soon. But a 2ZZ would definitely be an interesting swap in an FR-S. MKIII Supra is awesome as well.
Just bought a 2023 ct4. Looking forward to getting it delivered Sunday!
That's awesome! They are pretty fun. I definitely enjoyed it!
Kind of weird in this car it's more like dropping the car on the engine 😂
Haha. Right? This time I'm actually dropping it in through the top though. Which is why I don't have the intake on. I'm gonna pull the exhaust manifold back off as well to fit it through the top
@@ivgarage just a weird question. Have you ever heard of a perfect hole like 3/16" on a head casting on one of this cars?
I personally have not. What is that about? Like just a miscasting?
@@ivgarage I took one head to the machine shop and asked for full service. After installing it was leaking oil, took it out and replaced the bolts for studs and still leaked. Took it to a different machine shop and they found the hole next to one of the head bolts hole. So perfect that I thought it was part of the machine job on the head. They didn't want to fix it. I took it to a different shop and they fix it and pressure test it. Hopefully 4th time is the charm
Interesting. That I have definitely not heard of. That's crazy. I'll have to keep an eye out for that

My first ever car was the 10 series FRS! I was #1152 of #2500 Unfortunately it was rather short lived... Engine spun a bearing one year after buying at only 55k miles and had to replace it and someone hit me and totaled the car just a year or so after that :( enjoy it like theres no tomorrow!

I've gotten my ownership of the Sport Edition in black with the black rims/wheels officially 🙏🏽😇 move on regarding my SRX.
That's awesome! They do really look good all blacked out!

Nice work. That heat shield looks way better than the stock black mat. Are you going to do any insulation changes inside the car?
Thank you! It really does look good. And I may add some DynaMat inside. But I'm not exactly sure yet. I feel like inside is fine for now. But we'll see after putting it all back together.
I'd like to how everyone feels about the upright on the drivers door digging into their left leg. I had a 2021 out for a test drive and didn't like it(the upright) that is pressing into my leg.
Very interesting. I personally haven't noticed that. The next time I drive one. I will definitely look into that
I've always wanted one! Sounds like a blast to drive
They really are! I've already put 600 mi on it in 3 days. Haha. Definitely recommend if you can get one to buy one!
Holy crap! you got a GT86!!! FRS technically, but this is awesome! love these cars. Always thought theyd be the perfect little track car idk if thats the plan but I imagine, knowing you

Of course! I will be explaining more in depth! Again I really appreciate the support!
"He still alive"!!!
Haha. I will be making another short and full video here shortly
In February I bought a 24' CT4 Sport 2.0 with the Onyx Package. It came with 19' wheels on run flat tires and Brembo front brakes. Being 69' and 6'4" with a bad back, it can be a pain getting in and out of.
Very understandable there. It does sit pretty low. Not nearly as bad as a Corvette but it's almost there.
