Exhilarating and blunt piece of interview, content of which, is apt and straight to point. Meanwhile, the following pertinent questions, need to be looked at, and appropriately addressed. ■ Question No. 1: Is Africa really serious about Continental Integration? ■ Question No. 2: Is the craze and mammoth noise about Africa Continental Free Trade Area, a mere talk-shop or a another mirage about Continental Integration? ■ Question No. 3: Is it realistic, pragmatic, and achievable, to have a workable Continental Integration, on the altar of assistance from Africa's development and external partners? ■ Question No. 4: How achievable is a Continental Integration, without a firm, serious, and avowed commitment by Member States of Africa, to take the bull by the horn, and fund the Integration processes by themselves, and not on the expected financial assistance, handouts, and support of external and develop partners? ■ Question No. 5: Are attempts at Continental Integration, a pipe-dream or achievable? *Solutions to Achieving* *Continental Integration:* ■ In the annals of global economics, no Continental Integration, be it the European Union (EU), the North American Free Trade Area (NAFTA), the Association of South East Asia Nations (ASEAN), and the others, has ever been achievable or seen the light of day, on the whimsical and illusionist assistance of external and development partners; ■ Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) can only be achievable, when its Member States wake-up from their slumber, and face the stark reality, of making it a point to fully fund their own Continental Integration Agenda, and not on the anticipated financial support of their development and external partners; ■ Concious, committed, and regular payments of annual and assessed contributions by Member States of Africa, as well as voluntary contributions by other financial and natural resource endowed countries on the African Continent, can be the starting point for ensuring the realization of a Continental Integration; ■ Re-aligning the duplicitous portfololios created within African Union Commission and the AFCTA Secretariat, as well as making a conscious effort to downsize these portfolios to ensure effectiveness, can facilitate the efficient use of scare resources, whilst saving adequate funds for realization of the Continental Integration Agenda. *Conclusion* : ■ Africa, a Continent with vast human capital and natural resource endowment, needs to breakaway from the conventional approach of doing things, and adopt global best practices; ■ Africa's Integration and development agenda will, forever, remain in the bosom of Africans, and shall be the sole priority of Africans to bring it to fruition, and not through the unguaranteed support of development and external partners; ■ The earlier, Africans wake-up to the reality, that it is only through self-funding, that Continental Integration can be achievable, the better for us as a people and Continent, as a whole; ■ African Heads of State and Government, Religious, Traditional, and Civil Society Leaders, as well as key political actors, must know that, the time to embrace the stark challenge of self-funding Continental Integration is now, and not anchor it on the cargo mindset of receiving assistance from development and external partners, to realize the much-touted Continental Integration; ■ Indeed, it is doable and achievable, if we set our minds to it, and work assiduously and diligently at it.

Who were we before the arabs and Europeans enslaved the africans? Why would anyone finance the AU, we go to China and do not tell the chinese what we want, $60 billion from the chinese cannot develop 52 countries, the africans have a lazy mind and refuses to think, we will be slaves again, the president of nigeria said the chinese dinner was good, there is something wrong with the african mind, if you asked the foreigners to build factories for you and you don't own the factories you are still a slave, african leaders go to London and India for medical help, we still cannot power africa, when are we going to change the way we travel across the continent, do we need the white man to tell us what to do, why do we take aid when we are so rich, there is something wrong, why are we last in everything

Very fascinating piece of interview, worth watching and listening to. Will Africa matter by 2050? Quite an exciting piece of question, which requires a dichotomized response. Part One: No, Africa will not matter by 2050, due largely to the following reasons: i. If Africa fails to empower her youth, through conscientious skills, entrepreneurial, and ICT development training - leading enablers and drivers of the present and future global economy; ii. If Africa and her workforce, fail to brand themselves, by refusing to abide by international best practices in the corporate and professional world; iii. If Africa still remains in the colloquial and backward ways of doing things, without due deference to the essence of time management, promise-making, and quality output; iv. If African Youth continue to remain in their slumber, and fail to visualize and project into the future, thereby seeing themselves as the next generational leaders - a firm conviction that can ginger them to assiduously prepare themselves for actualization of such a vision in future. Part Two: Yes, Africa will still matter by 2050, if the following actions can be followed through: i. Embrace attitudinal change in every facet of our societal lives, notably, approach to work in general, pedagogical and educational training, and socio-cultural upbringing, just to mention a few; ii. Break the traditional and archaic cycle of doing things in both the corporate and professional setting, and embrace global best practices, where, respect for time management, time-honoured promises, diligence, honesty, and sincerity, are key standards, that are non-negotiable and cannot be taken for granted; iii. Provide Africa's Youth with critical thinking skills, as well as empower them with ICT and Entrepreneurial skills, to make them keenly competitive in today's fast-paced and ever-changing globalized market; iv. Embrace the concept of Inter and Intra African Trade, as the essential foundation and building blocks, to guarantee and enhance Africa's competitiveness in the present and future globalized market. Conclusion: The reality of Africa, remaining relevant by 2050, is largely achievable, subject to the Continent putting her acts together right about now, so that it can pay-off before the advent of 2050.

A thought-provoking interview, indeed! The paradoxical nature of Africa's integration process, is something worth evaluating, outcome of which, will help streamline and drive a comprehensive Continental integration processes. Are the numerous Conferences, Seminars, Meetings, Colloquia, Workshops, and Symposia, usually attended by African Heads of States, and other key political stakeholders, at both the Regional, Sub-regional, and Continental levels, a mere talk-shop or serious brainstorming sessions??? The paucity of political will, zeal, enthusiasm, commitment, and dedication, mostly showcased and exhibited by most African Heads of States, and other key political actors, during and after meeting sessions, is what is at the very core of Africa's lackadaisical and snail-pace Integration process. The need to enhance the efficient functionality of existing Regional Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms, the very foundation and building blocks for any effective Continental integration processes, is, first and foremost, key and essential to any attempt that may be initiated. The earlier, African Leaders and various key political stakeholders retrace their steps, get back to the basics, recalibrate, and make concerted and conscious efforts at genuinely and assiduously embarking on a holistic Continental integration process, outcome of which, could only have a positive and impactful snowballing effect on the entire Continent and her people, the better for us all. Very witty and instructive piece of interview! Indeed, there is no better time than now, for our beloved Continent, Africa, to seriously consider the urgency of documenting and codifying all our oral African history, handed-down to us by our forebears and the surviving heroes and heroines of the African liberation struggle. The world, indeed, is not fair and charitable. So, therefore, the earlier Africa takes into account this reality, the better for her. Mindful of the fact that, nobody will ever develop the Continent for us, there is, hence, the utmost need for documentation of our rich African history, to serve as a guide and inspiration to the current generation and generations yet unborn, to take the destiny of Africa into their own hands, and forge ahead forcefully to make the Continent a better and prosperous place to live in. It is, thus, by so doing, that the proliferation of Western imperialism, can be thwarted from gaining a foothold on the Continent. The time to act is now or never!

In human rights language, we talk about duty bearers and rights holders. If only the rights holders in this case the youth can know and understand what is there for them like the way Ms. Prudence Ngwenya has explained, they will be able to demand from the duty bearers (like in this case AU) and actively participate in realizing their own potential and future. In the same vein, if some duty bearers can learn from what others are doing, they can design effective programmes for youth. Thank you Dr Emmanuel and the entire Channel 63 team for these wonderful programmes. Iam now seeing myself as an African and not only a Malawian because of the impact of Channel 63 programmes. I have developed love for Africa, Iam able to follow what is happening in Africa and above all I have taken deep interest in learning more about policies and strategies affecting Africa including the work of institutions mandated to oversee the Affairs of Africa such as AU.

For the youth to be able seat down to hear stories of the liberation strugggle one's basic need have to be met. We dont deny the sacrifice and the struggle of the liberation struggle, they have failed to document and share, now the youth dont want to hear stories of 40 years ago.Youth are under pressure to bling becoz of the new era of social media.

Quite an impressive piece of interview, worth listening to, even though riddled with much questions, that needs urgent answers. Question No. 1: * Are African Leaders really interested in the smooth take-off of the AFCTA? Question No 2: * Can AFCTA see the light of day, given the prevailing cross-border challenges, which continues to be inimical to Inter-African Trade? Question No. 3: * Are African Leaders really enthused by the urgent and successful implementation of AFCTA? Question No. 4: * Are there any actionable and implementable measures, being rolled-out by African leaders and other key political players, to address the extant bottlenecks in Continental cross-border trade, which, currently, inhibits the effective functioning of AFCTA? Question No. 5: * Can AFCTA function optimally, without the active inclusion and participation of SMEs, which constitutes a larger chunk of the informal sector? In light of the above questions, and until such a time that African leaders and other key political players alike, demonstrate the needed political will and commitment, aimed at ironing-out the age-old cross-border bottlenecks and challenges, through efficacious implementation of pragmatic and practical solutions, capable of facilitating Inter-African Trade, AFCTA's treasured goal, deemed as a game-changer to not only Africa's avowed holistic development agenda, but also, her global presence in international trade, could, once again, become another form of mirage, at the end of day. The earlier African Leaders, and other key political actors, get their acts together, the better for the realization of AFCTA's lofty and cherished organizational goals.

Fascinating piece of interview! Relevant points raised: - Opening-up spaces for the African Youth and Women; - Capacitating the African Youth and Women; - Enhancing the health and well-being (i.e. security, safety, development, livelihood) of the African Youth and Women; - Creating an avenue for the African Youth and Women, to have a recognized voice, through the building of closely-knit networks, cooperation, and collaboration among themselves. Very pertinent points raised, but the question still remains, "Is the African Union doing much, to create the needed space and empowerment of the African Youth and Women? Despite the introduction of purported Protocols and Normative Frameworks, anchored on the African Youth and Women, what distinct improvement do we see in their livelihoods and well-being? Until there is an avowed political will and commitment by African leaders and key political actors, coupled with an intentional implementation of programmes and policies for the African Youth and Women, their prevailing predicament, ordeal, agony, suffering, joblessness, will be further perpetuated. Truth be told, the time has come for the multiple talk-shops, as usually evidenced at National, Regional, and Continental Fora, to be transformed into action-oriented and implementable measures, aimed at assuaging the continuous suffering of the African Youth and Women. Africa can do better, and must do better than what is currently being experienced by her Youth and Women!

Me still waiting to hear how they met 😢11 minutes later. Lol 18 minutes later. Guess there is no romance story here. I was fascinated at the fact that they met during the war and are still together, compared to most people in Government.

We in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 including his fellow war veterans are not interested in this family. They are selfish and don't care about the masses. They will tell you everything is well in Zimbabwe yet almost everything is dysfunctional in the country. The guy likes listening to his voice.

Thank you for shedding light on the critical issue of youth joblessness in Africa and the important role of the African Union Commission (AUC), specifically the Women, Gender and Youth Directorate. It's clear that the frustration and lack of awareness among young Africans about the AUC's initiatives must be addressed urgently. The Directorate’s strategies to combat youth unemployment, such as the Youth Employment Action Plan (YEAP), the African Youth Charter, the Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA), and the African Plan of Action for Youth Empowerment (APAYE), are commendable. These initiatives provide a solid foundation for creating opportunities and empowering young people across the continent. However, awareness and active engagement are crucial for these strategies to be effective. Here are a few suggestions: 1. Increase Awareness: Leverage social media, webinars, and educational partnerships to inform young Africans about the AUC’s efforts. Regular updates and success stories can inspire and motivate youth to get involved. 2. Youth Engagement: Create platforms for young people to participate in policy-making processes. Their insights and experiences are invaluable in shaping initiatives that truly address their needs. 3. Effective Communication: Simplify and disseminate information about the AUC’s programs in accessible formats and local languages to reach a broader audience. 4. Collaboration: Foster partnerships between governments, private sectors, and civil society to support youth employment initiatives comprehensively. This holistic approach can amplify the impact of the Directorate's strategies. 5. Feedback Mechanisms: Establish channels for continuous feedback from the youth to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing programs, making necessary adjustments to ensure their success. By embracing inclusivity, innovative thinking, and constructive leadership, young Africans can drive the change needed for a brighter future.

Undoubtedly, it is evident that, the African Continent is sitting on a time bomb, predominantly due to the daily upsurge in youth unemployment. The rising state of joblessness of the African Youth, poses a general security threat across the Continent, mostly characterized by acts of terrorism and extremism, armed robbery and streetism, human, weapon, and narcotic trafficking, as well as kidnapping and hijacking-related activities. Other security threats on the African Continent, are equally typified by illicit exploitation of natural resources, piracy-related activities in the Gulf of Guinea Region, and coup d'état-driven activities in some African countries, including Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Niger. These extant security threats, can only spawn doom for the Continent's peace, stability, cohesion, and general economic development. Hence, it is high time, African leaders, together with key strategic stakeholders, minimize the talkshop at various meetings and conferences, and rather walk the talk, by showing serious political will and commitment, to widespread Youth unemployment across the Continent - which only portents doom and catastrophe to Continental peace and security.

Very touching and inspirational piece of video! Indeed, "love," is a sacred and beautiful thing. And whenever it is grounded on a sound and solid foundation; no matter the turbulences, tribulations, ordeal, and agony that may militate against it; it will still be able to withstand the test of time, as vividly evidenced in the case of Mr. and Mrs. Mutsvangwa! Great and profound piece of romantic story, worth emulating by both the present and future generations. Kudos then, to Mr. and Mrs. Mutsvangwa, for a romantic life, well lived, which now serves as a great source of inspiration to many others across the African Continent!
