I bought a Cessna 172 in Australia. how much it costs and how it looks
In this video, I pass on some of my experience after owning my Cessna 172 for 12 months in Australia.
See the video for all the details.
Cost breakdown for those AvGeeks:
- Purchase price rage AUD $25k - $50k
Annual costs (94hrs):
- Insurance $2500
- Self-maintenance (25, 50, 75hrly) oil, filters and other approx = $2700
- Storage $1200
- Cleaning products $300
- Landing fees approx = $420
- Expected 100hrly/annual = $3000
Total for 2022 = $11120
I might do a video after the annual and explain the actual costs of operation in more detail so stay tuned.

Flying a Cessna over alpine glaciers and 9000ft mountains in New Zealand
มุมมอง 782ปีที่แล้ว
This is some of the cockpit footage from a flight I took in New Zealand from Wanaka. I didn't have my NZ certificate at the time so I needed to fly with an instructor to hire the plane. I am glad I did and wouldn't ever attempt to fly around alpines like these without thorough training. Thank you Hamish and the uflywanaka team for the flight. @uflywanaka - www.u-flywanaka.co.nz Shot on : @GoPro...

This is an experiment on whether or not anyone likes these kinds of videos, I think they can be interesting to see and sometimes informational. I would love your thoughts so please share below!
How to get your commercial pilots license in Australia (step by step how I did it)
มุมมอง 31K2 ปีที่แล้ว
When I began learning to fly, the path to becoming a commercial pilot was clearly laid out by my college. But the journey was all but a straight road to the finish line. In this video, I explain how I started, what colleges I went to, details about my check ride and what things I would have done differently if I was to do it again. Of cause, Covid19 had its effects but what I learned was that t...

Birdsville Flyaway with the Inspired Unemployed !
มุมมอง 1.9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
There is something particularly Australian to flying a Cessna to Birdsville! The boys from @theInspiredUnemployed and myself flew up to the town known for its outback races and punch-ups apparently.... Unfortunately, I was preoccupied and didn't get the best footage. However, we did come up with a pretty cool new idea. To do podcasts on the plane!!! I hope you enjoy the ride up north and if you...
Equipment in my plane!
มุมมอง 7693 ปีที่แล้ว
I have been doing a bunch of private flying around the eastern seaboard over the past couple of months, both to build hours and to have some fun getting around the place. Whilst flying there is a select group of items I always carry which I think are critical for my flight and then there are some other things I have in the plane which are not so critical but rather nice to have. Watch the video...

Thanks so much for this dude. Fell in love with the idea of becoming a pilot playing msfs during lockdown and I'm a little frozen before taking the final step. I'm going to pop down to Archerfield tomorrow and have a chat to the people there. Time to get the ball rolling

A 3.6 hour flight test is Absurd. Students under stress cannot last 3.6 hours, this far more than twice the flight time i the US or Canada

  • @ramjet4025
    @ramjet4025 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Shocking, Australia has a 3.6 hour commecial pilot ride. Its totally unnecessary, Its bullshit unlimited, its more bulshit from CASA. CASA's conceited corporate arrogance and abuse of power is why tens of thousands of Australians leave Australia. Who wants to work or insruct in CASA's toxic cult like environment.

Hey champ ,the 2 venturi tubes on the side provide vacuum to power your DG & AH. Also early c172's were powered by continental O- 300, meaning they were carburated not Injected.

Hey Oliver, thanks for the insightful videos. I noticed you have said your goal isn’t to fly for airlines. May I ask what career path you are looking towards? I know that GA pathways can be pretty low paying which sometimes worries me due to the large student debt accumulated through pilot studies. Cheers 🍻

Hey Mate, I always wanted my pilot licence, i've been looking up different licences and it seems like you need to do RPL before PPL so it seems to go straight for a CPL so you have less restrictions, does that sound right ? also any recommendations for which school to look at because there seems to be so many different ones, also this is more for a hobby not for paid pilot work. Also i noticed that you need to have completed year 12 is that correct ?
