Yeah, both US 00:00:59 and EU versions; however the EU 00:00:31 version was a better port in my opinion.

Well, I had some frustration when jumping, but that is fixed in the update afaik. Besides that the color truly makes a difference to me. Far more atmospheric and nicer to look at! I miss some soundeffects while playing music, but that's ok.

Credit where credit is due; this demo is all Xenon. But yeah, we mortals are lucky to have them. The C64 scene is alive and well!

@@Asphodellife Ah I see. I remember when Xenon was on the Amiga and I would spend huge amounts of time round a friend's house playing it until I finished it. It was at this time I learned to play Axel F on the keyboard incidentally, which happens to be the channel name based off Beverly Hills Cop. And it wasn't until many years later I found that Xenon is an actual element. I just thought it was a cool name. And when I hear that it poisons reactor cores, it makes sense as a title now, like the aliens are poisoning the environment which you have to clear.

Yeah, better (professional) gameplay (mechanics) came from the East primarely. One man projects, when it came to arcade conversions, with tight deadlines didn't help either through studios like US gold. The Japanese had strict quality control. But those awesome SID soundtracks on C64; o man.

@@AnnatarTheMaia Very nice and stylish large animations, excellent sid chip usage... it reminds me a bit of some of the dance music demos on the Amiga from back in the day. This isn't exactly easy to do on a C64... or do you think you can do better?

@@AnnatarTheMaia And this way, we can keep going back and forth. This demo and a lot of the new demos you see getting released in 2024 are quite impressive considering you are working with a machine that's 40 years old. I like this demo, you do not.
