Sonor Special Edition Gold Sparkle in sizes 12,13,16,22,22
Sonor has chosen to call this series Special Edition, but basically this is a Sonor Force in birch with Gold Sparkle wrap.
The Special Edition is also used in several of Sonor's low to mid-range sets, including the Bop series which came with Poplar shell, while this set sold here has a birch shell and is of a much higher quality. It's still called Special Edition….. confusing, yep! 🙂
Anyway, this kit is the perfect drum kit for a glam rocker who likes bling-bling on stage or in the rehearsal room. It screams glam rock all the way and sounds the same! New skins on the entire set, front and back, above and below, mean that this set competes sonically with far more expensive sets, such as today's Sonors SQ1 series. With a isolated tom suspension, so-called TA,R mount, the drums get very good resonance and a lot of volume. Lovely sizes for those who like it a bit big and bulging with 2 pcs 22×17.5 bass drums, 12×10, 13×11 and 16×16 toms.
Two single tom holders, one on each bass drum and new straight out of the box, make placing the drums very convenient and precise. Ball-mount on the L-arms for perfect adjustment, and memory-locks on both tom-arms and tom-holders ensure easy and precise positioning every time.
The two bass drums also have hoops in birch with gold sparkle inlay. Beautifully executed and gives the set a classic and modern look.
The set has been fully serviced with disassembly, cleaning, polishing and lubrication of all moving parts. New skins have been fitted to a value of NOK. 4,779.- and 2 new 600 series tom holders to a value of NOK. 2538.-
The set appears in extremely good condition and has very few signs of use. Gold Sparkle wrap has a hint of fading in some parts, but nothing that is significant or unsightly for the overall impression. Badge on one bass drum is missing.

back in 1999, I had the same one with dimensions of 24, 13, 18ft... I also recorded an album with that drum, I asked directly from the factory to buy another tom 12, but unfortunately they didn't have anything similar for sale, so I made the wrong decision and sold it . I have never found such a drum sound.

This looks like a fairly advanced design with the drum mounts for back then. If I designed drums, the mounts would be something like what is on these. Nice Kit!
