Psalms of David King

Inspired by James 5:13, “Is any merry? Let him sing psalms.” Psalms aren’t just for meditation. In light of Christ, they’re also joyful.
\tPsalms directly from the Bible sung Gospel style; some tunes are my original compositions; some public domain hymn or Gospel tunes that I adapted to psalms; some ancient chants that I adapted to Gospel style. Most psalms with a response between stanzas i.e., a refrain responding to the psalm’s theme.
\tAlso, Bible canticles and songs I composed and old folk songs sung by old folks in my childhood in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. Maybe someday some videos explain things about psalms or singing them.

Psalm 49 I'm Happy With Jesus Alone
About this psalm: It seems to say that neither wealth nor wisdom can get you a place in God’s grace; only God Himself can do it; then, it expresses faith that God will do so. To me, that’s OK because I’m happy with Jesus alone. Therefore, I chose as the response the refrain of “I’m Happy With Jesus Alone” by Charles Price Jones. The music is based on his music for that song.

This psalm seems to be versatile regarding its meaning. Its cries to God are not resolved in the psalm. It seems the speaker prays but God gives no answer. For that reason, it’s sometimes considered an admonition, a cry of one who has gone to Hell.
