Navarre Hideaway Retreat. Has alot of potential. It has many overgrown tree branches, and very narrow dirt roads that can make it diffcult to backup a 30 foot trailer.
Yes, it can be tricky to get in with a big rig. I’ve done 3 different videos on this place and I’m always honest about that fact. The last time we took our 42 foot fifth wheel there and got it in with the help of the staff. They are wonderful at helping spot you. Once you’re there you will appreciate all the shade but you are correct and it’s something people with bigger rigs should be aware of.
Just came across your blog and loved it. We were recently down there just south of you at Bluewater Resort, which is between Galveston and Surfside, and on the north side of Blue water HWY. I will say I'm a little jealous of you guys staying on the beach, but we were only a couple hundred yards away from the water and still had the views. Our coach is a big DP so I won't be bringing on the beach. lol Needless to say, we love the late fall months through early spring...yes the winds are cool but hardly any skeeters. We love jeep riding and walking the beach, fishing in the back waters and crabbing. We are already planning our next stay. Cheeers
Thanks so much! It really is an amazing place and you’re right about the bugs in late fall. This was our first time doing something like this. We enjoyed it so much we actually went back after gaining some experience and brought a crew with us. You may enjoy that video even more. Happy camping! th-cam.com/video/8IP1i8aDCYg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=j9Mx4AOdd80giAOK
Nice video but from what I saw was your inverter is in the same compartment as your batteries. I think that’s a fire hazard from what I’ve been reading about installs.
Thanks. I’ve not heard that. Will have to look into it. Our Alliance Paradigm has an inverter from the factory installed in the same compartment but maybe they have changed the codes. Appreciate the insight.
Maybe it has to do with battery type. Lithium vs lead acid batteries. I know lead acid batteries give off flammable fumes. I’m not sure about lithium.
Thanks for that, I have a similar mirror system bought directly from China, Regarding the headlights on night vision I’ve read there’s an update that takes away that blur from the screen that totally clears up the picture, there’s a term or name for this latest tech but it certainly would be great as it is annoying at night.
Thanks! I’ll have to look into that. That would be great.
that "smart box" is pretty ridiculous. that problem with all of these rearview cameras(theyre all the same unit/functions basically) is the fact the image is stretched to fill the mirror and you have to scroll to see different views... just show us the whole actual aspect ratio... if theres black boxes on the sides, oh well i want to see everything not 25% of the top/bottom chopped off. when they figure out how to put the receiver IN the mirror and not have cell phone tower attached to your cigarette outlet... then it will be bad ass
Spot on! 😂
After my second trip with my new camper and having to climb on and balance my big rear end on a ladder with a floor broom on an extension pole to sweep off my slide-out, I'm getting a topper for it. Your video helped give me good perspective on the installation process. My slide is 13' 6" so I'll definitely get a second set of hands to help. Thanks for a great walk through.
So happy you found it helpful! Congratulations on your new rig. Hope you’re able to make some great memories.
With this monitor. What is your take on the antennas for it? I am not sure if I like that they are connected to the power supply.
It’s better than the first generation where the antenna was attached to the mirror. It prevented you from being able to angle the mirror. It did take a little bit to get used to it at the power supply but now we like it. It also adds 2 usb charge ports which my wife likes when she’s in the passenger seat!
Excellent job! Needed this.
Happy it was helpful!
KFGP!😅
$439.00 ...I'll pass...
I get that. There are definitely cheaper options out there with less specs. Was just showing the features of this one. Happy camping!
Yes, I gave permission to post the truth below even though it is not convenient to them and will be removed soon. Happy story telling about your experience while others were screwed in the process.
I’m not affiliated with GRV. I’m just a TH-camr sharing our experiences. If you’ve had a bad experience with them then that is terrible. If you browse through the comments I have not removed the ones who likewise have had a negative experience. I’ve welcomed people sharing their perspectives. That doesn’t mean mine is not true.
How convenient that my reply was removed below by either you or the Google Camel Jockey of Sunday Picha.
Not sure what you’re talking about. I haven’t removed any comments. As far as I know the only reason a comment would be auto removed is if it contained foul language.
Have you put this setup on a Cat scale? I’d be curious how heavy your rig. It’s an awesome looking setup you have.
Hi there! I have scaled it. If it’s helpful you can DM me on our facebook page and I can send you a screenshot of the scale ticket. I asked a few others for their scale tickets before purchasing this rig just to get a better idea of what the numbers would be. I don’t mind helping others in the community. 👍🏽
Thanks for sharing this video bro definitely was helpful 🙏
So glad it was helpful! Hope I took some of the intimidation away.
Currently going through a not so pleasant experience, with a dealership in Salt Lake City. Purchased our Class A, over a week ago and have not seen it...emailing the sales rep. and all I'm getting is excuses, there was an apparently a "Recall" on Girard Awnings. But have not found any such recalls. Just a little frustrating.
I’m sorry to hear that. I know that is frustrating. Especially being left in the dark. Poor or zero communication from a dealership is very aggravating. I can be patient as long as I’m informed. Hope it gets better and you can start enjoying your new rig soon!
I want to install one of these on our travel trailer the one question I have is where you mount the track on the side of the camper/rv where do the screws go into ? Studs or do you just rely on the material of the side of the camper to screw into? Wasn’t sure if there was a lot of pull on the awning.
Great question. I’m wondered the same when I installed the first one. The track only screws into the siding material. I think this is why there are so many screws. Each screw in the siding holds less force than one in the stud but they make up for the force by having so many screws that it spreads the force out. This is also why I recommend using butyl tape on the back of the track for waterproofing the screw holes instead of caulking. The butyl tape just by itself is VERY sticky and adds even more strength in my opinion. As well as waterproofs the screw holes.
Very good video. My new 2024 Alliance Paradigm slide out covers were installed by the dealer. After 6 weeks, the fabric pulled away from the spline. It appears they used a staple, one at each end to fasten the fabric to the spline. I like the way you did it using two screws. Thanks for the video. Keep them coming.
Glad you found it helpful! It’s funny that they used staples. The instructions say to use a screw. In fact, the kit comes with screws specifically for that. This is why I have trust issues and prefer whenever possible to do things myself. 😂
Nice job and yes, please do more recordings.
Thanks for the support!
Thank you!!
Hope it was helpful!
Would be nice if they just started making the campers all come with a outdoor kitchen and not those pullouts that they call a outdoor kitchen! Alot of us keep asking for Outdoor Kitchens and they just dont do it! Nice job on your remodel of your new RV.
Thank you! Yes, I agree with you. It’s more importantly than the manufacturers realize. We buy RV’s to go camping. We go camping to be outdoors. An outdoor kitchen helps keep us outdoors. It’s really simple to me. 😂
@@RCRVadventures Yes I agree very simple as you state!!! Not sure why the manufacturers don't see it! :-)

Googd job
Thanks! Hope it was helpful!
Yes and thank you
Glad you found it helpful.
Great video. Use of a drill instead of impact driver is exactly right. I also set the ratcheting setting to a low number to avoid overdriving the screws so no holes get stripped. Also, flaring and de-burring the end of the wall channel and lubing the interior of it will let the fabric slide in easily and avoid any snagging or tearing during installation.
Yes! Those are great callouts. I did check for burrs on the channel. This one was fine but an excellent point you make. Ripping the topper as you slide it in would ruin your day for sure!
A cover for the awning? How useless.
There are pros and cons to both having them and not having them. Just depends on the individual.
Great how to video! Well made & well explained. Thank you
I’m happy you found it helpful! Thanks!
I read all over not to install your brackets on the trim flange is it holding up ok?? It would be my only option with the awning also
Yes, it’s holding up great. It’s not on the trim though. It is in the framing. In the middle of the video I show how to measure down to be able to clear your trim and get the screws into the frame. The screws are too long and will go right through the trim and cause damage when you close the slide.
Camping in our exact spot. Yours takes up a lot more space and looks so cool and fun as a group! Great videography.
I knew we couldn’t be the only ones! 😂 You know how awesome it is. We have done it solo before but it is definitely more fun in a group. Thanks for sharing with us!
Thank you...Just watched your video to find out if I should do it myself or not, Im Going to do it myself ,thanks to to you......Thank you ...Great video....
Awesome! Happy I could help.
I just camp there a day ago
That’s awesome! If you went fishing I hope you had better luck than I had. 😂
Good video
Thanks, hope it was helpful!
All the help makes it easier
Definitely easier with help but it’s doable by yourself. 👍🏽
I have a similar camera that mounts to my mirror and this would be an excellent replacement. However, is there a stereo port on the top to connect a wired camera from your truck bumper? Not for viewing at the same time obviously. I already have a camera connected to my bumper so it would work perfectly if it has that port.
Unfortunately there are no extra ports on the unit to add additional cameras. It is limited to only the 2 cameras. The built in front facing camera and the wireless rear camera. They do have several other camera systems that you can add more cameras. Maybe take a look at their website and see what different systems they have that could work for your setup. From my experience they seem to be a reputable company with great customer service.
I bought a camper and the slides don’t have the protection, what can I do? Where do I buy them or what else can I replace them with?
If you’re referring to the slid toppers that I installed in the video, most campers do not come with them. They can be purchased on Amazon. The company that makes them is LCI. You will have to measure the length of you slides to order the correct size. Hope this helps. 👍🏽
Cheaper to diy than going to dealer or hiring someone. I’m a single female senior and like knowing what to do.❤
Glad you found it helpful!
Do one on a smaller trailer like a 25 foot , everyone does large trailers
Sure! I get that. Just gotta find someone who will let me tinker on their camper. 😂
we really appreciate the time for all these information and answering all your doubts
I’m happy you found it helpful. Every setup will be different so take the time to do your research and know your numbers. I found a lot of truck salesmen don’t fully understand towing numbers. Best of luck!
Love the how to videos
Thanks for sharing! Looks like I’ll have to do more of these! 😂
great video and GOOD TIMES!!
Thank you! It was definitely one of the most fun things we’ve done with the RV! Hope to inspire others to try it.
Great family time! It's wonderful.
Great time with great people in a great location. You really can’t ask for more! Hope we showed it well and inspired others to try it. Thanks for watching!
Where do you find butyl tape with double stick qualities? I can only find one side sticky butyl tape
I found it at Home Depot. It’s sold in the roofing supply section. 👍🏽
Just finished installing a Lippert slide awning. It (the awning) needed to be replaced following a catastrophic failure of another brand during last years camping season. Really appreciate the details you provided in the video. It helped a bunch!!
That’s awesome! I’m happy you found it helpful! It’s funny to think I almost didn’t make this video. 😂 Now, it has become our most viewed one. So glad it is helping people. Congrats on the replacement!
This was a long time ago. I was about to send you some alpaca to put on that. I hope the videos return. Tio Mac
Thanks Tio! I hope to continue with the videos. Just have to get through this season I’m in. As always, your support means a lot to us!
I really appreciate this video we're shopping for our first RV and it's refreshing to hear positive feedback.
Glad you found it helpful. We just wanted to share our experience. We’ve bought a couple RV’s from different places and this was the most pleasant experience. I know they’ve gotten some bad press, which may or may not be accurate, but we didn’t experience any of that.
This was GREAT. Concise with VERY practical information. Excellent review!! +sub 🙂
Thanks so much! We decided to try and start adding these short campground reviews because, honestly, it’s what we would like to see when looking for a new campground. 😂 Glad you found it helpful!
@@RCRVadventures 🙌🏼
I removed these walls to examine doing this on my 390MP, however what I'm missing from your video is how the air flow / return from the vent under the stairs reaches the furnace in this configuration? Seems like making that angled wall a 90° corner would block the cold air return...?
You’re right, I’m sorry, I didn’t show it very well in the video. The back wall behind the refrigerator is built out about 6” to allow airflow. It then makes a 90 degree angle and connects to the back wall. The refrigerator blocks this angle from view so it looks like one straight wall in the back but it is not.
@@RCRVadventures Ah! That makes more sense.
@sators If you ever decide to take on the project, DM me on our Facebook page. I may have some photos/videos I can send you to help show it with more detail.
NO, NO, NO!!! Don’t send your dog off to chase the birds. Set the mature and responsible example to your kids. Shore birds are struggling the most to survive among we humans.
Thanks for watching.

It definitely was an exciting ride! 😂 To be fair, I may have added some sound effects to her driving clips to make it more vivid. 🤣🤣🤣
