Thanks for this tutorial. I adapted it for teaching two very different classes yesterday, a 2nd grade and a combined 7/8 grade and this craft was a huge success with both groups! I've subscribed to your channel.
This is an amazing tutorial, concise but covers all the points. Thank you!
Thank you so much! You're the best!

This was a great tutorial! I. Totally going to do this today!
Quedó linda bendiciones ❤
I make medieval clothes & need to make this kind of braid for a kamakura period project- this is literally the perfect tutorial and so clear! I can't wait to try it out.
Awesome! Glad to be of help! 🙂
An excellent tutorial!! Thank you
Great war of explaining - thank for the details on possible mistakes and color patterns!! 😊
Thank you. Excellent.
My art teacher gave me a square board not a circle 😭
3:57 It is called an overhand knot. Interestingly, a pretzel knot is a name for a different knot.
Doesn't matter. Tie it off anyway you want
Are the oil pastels a certain color family or just random? thank you :)
The best easiest explained tutorial ever
Thank you!!!!! My kids got this as a gift and the instructions left me so confused! Then I looked at other videos and felt like crying under the bed with confusion! Finally, I understand! 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you!!!!
i love this comment!!!!!! but I am sorry you had to deal with so much frustration first! Happy weaving!
Thanks so much! Your such a good teacher
Wouldn't it be easier to number the notches, so that kids lean faster which string goes ahere and in what order? THX
Try it! The strings are always moving and sometimes you need to reposition or adjust so fixed numbers won't work.
Where can I get thin cardboard like that?
use regular corrugated cardboard from any shipping box
You are such a good teacher, thank you 🙏💚
I am forced to be here because school ;-; Edit: can't believe this is more than 6 months ago... 6 months ago I was struggling with kumihimo... And now I've finally finished 10th grade... That's so fast...
real
same 😔
Thank you very much!!
Thank you for making this wonderful and easy to follow tutorial. You made it fun and easy to learn. My granddaughter is going to love making these. You’re an excellent teacher! ❤
PODE FAZER COM LÂ?
Anything you want, as long as the notches can accommodate the gauge of vord you're using, and the center hole is large enough for the braid to pass through
Mama uhvati me😂😂😂
hi bros
w teacher :)
MRS.AMSLER!!! ITS ME HANNAH!!! HIIIIII ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very clearly taught. Makes me want to try. What is the best material to use … yarn? cording? something else?
Anything you want. If you have arthritis like some of us do, maybe a larger gauge cording would be easier to start with. Think about what you might use the cording for, and create with that in mind.
❤merci beaucoup une découvert pour moi
Thank you❤
It has been very well explained and even motivated me in the age of 62 as a meditation ,listening music gona creative hoby for me.
You are a great teacher...thank you
Cmei MONTEVERDI - muito interessante o curso
Wow, you are incredible, it's a lot easier with your explanation. Thanks 🙏
Com este tutorial, será muito fácil a confecção deste trançado.
This is my first year teaching art. How long does this project generally take for them to complete everything?
Thanks a lot 🙏 your tutorial is really 👌 you are a very good teacher 😊
This is a fantastic tutorual, thanks so much! I
thanks! helped so much
Maybe I missed it but what were the other notches for if you're only using 8 notches
You always need extra notches: when you move a string, you need a place to put it. I consider them "place holders". We always make our disks in class with 16 notches, but having more or less still works!
@@ursinaamsler1334 nice I'm gonna try this
Fantastic! You’ve made it possible for me to trying this! Thanks. X
You’re amazing! Thank you.
Awesome! Thank you.
So helpful! Thank you! Do you think it’d work with embroidery floss?
It does! You get a silkier, thinner braid.
Hey! I had some free time today and wanted to fill it by making a bracelet, couldn't decide on what type and then I remembered Kumihimo from middle school art. I put it in the search bar on youtube and to my surprise I came across this video. 8 years ago you taught my middle school class to do this in our free time, it is still super fun and addicting. glad I came across this.
I love that you found it again, and glad that it provided good memoreis!
You might show how to end while working on your Kumihimo by bringing down just the first right hand cord leaving three at the bottom and one at the top. When you pick it up again. You will see that now you move the left cord up to the left and resume.
Thank you very much❤, this video helped me a lot in understanding the method
Excellent tutorial, thanks!
