I live in Ngong.Apart from crazy traffic it's a nice town.The way i see it,Kikuyus and Maasai have very little differeces coz they depends on each other for survival.Maasais are herders while many Kikiyus are butchers.So they do business together.Still the Maasai/Kikuyu intermarriages are the highest from both communities.Still they relate well culturally.

Fun fact people don't know, githogori and marurui are geographically in kiambu(might be wrong on marurui side, coz I can't trace the river) but the river that divides Nairobi and kiambu, is just beyond the original githogoro but due to expansion small part of githogoro is in Nairobi geographically; due to encroachment the river is almost non existent its a stream, githogoro is in kiambu geographically and in Nairobi politically

Sorry you didn’t show the real marurui. I live in between marurui and London.This is where high ranking people live eg lawyers and businessmen and women. Your image only featured most of Jua Kali slum. I’m not impressed by your coverage since I’m in marurui for Xmas. I love it here.

I am impressed with the economic activities that seem to be going on in Marurui. Even the people walking all seem to have a purpose. Thanks for presenting to us this neighborhood that I had never heard of before.

Kikuyu town is for Kikuyus

I grew up in Lovington Green, and I used to go to a nearby slum called Waruku to hang out with local folks. Every expensive neighborhood in Kenya has a small slum nearby where workers come from. Also, it is a place where rich folks buy organic farm produce, mainly on weekends. My area MP, then (Fred Gumo), would wait until election day and come to Waruku and hand everyone a 50-shilling note, then disappear until the next election. His goons (Maasai Morans) were extremely violent if anyone tried to challenge him!

I'm a big fun of village to town. I think Nairobi is usually overhyped. I lived in Ruiru kihunguro sometimes ago.. I would appreciate to see how the place has transformed.

There is a place called Rayetta once you leave Wanjohi town. The views as you head towards Rayetta, my good God! They are to die for..the roads are bad (last I was there) but the views, the views! You can never get enough of that because you are approaching the aberdare ranges and you are so close to the ranges, you think you can touch them. Growing up, Dec was my best times because we travelled from Nakuru where water, firewood, and fruits were not freely flowing..Wanjohi, Rayetta in particular was a haven for the same. We fetched the firewood from the aberdare ranges and water flowed freely from the rivers. The plums! The open expansive fields! Good good times.

Great video & explanation. But the video quality looks like a phone 4K, not camera . Camera 4K is Netflix quality. Even 720p camera is far better than phone 4K, especially color rendering and haze/mist filtering. Anyway thanks
