great!! amazing and detailed dissection!
Nice
What about over drive?
Hi joshua. Loving these patches so much it piqued my curiousity into purcchasing a few. However I went to the website to try for a download and unfortunately the website in the bio does not work. Maybe update? Thanks
I’d love to download this patch but I can not get the link to work. Is the link dead? Can I still download it?
This, and your Walking On The Moon tutorial, are both awesome - but are the patches still available? I'm not seeing them in Tone Central - looks like they got dropped, which would be a shame. I would buy the GT-1 just to host those two presets. I guess I may try to recreate them from the documented notes in the articles.
He used a Univibe didn't he to get that flanger/warble sound?
Fantastic effort and results. It shows that good ears and playing coupled with an intellligent use of available technology (with a minimum quality) is what gives results, not endless mental "jamming".
Best Demo I’ve found on TH-cam of any Multi Fx unit. Most videos go direct from a Fender clean to a Marshall JTM tube screamer sound. This video shows the range of the FX unit
All very well but you don't tell us what the names of the patches are we can't see from the video
You have to actually buy them it’s not free
This pedal should automatically come with these patches already built in but no you have to do all this bs and you have to buy it my dad spent 400 dollars on this for me and I can’t believe I have to buy the patches unbelievable
I got some ptaches for free. e.g. Santana Patch @@lllllllllllllllllllllIII
LINDO O DO pink floid
pretty well documented, clyde mcocoy wa, fender basmann head, fuzz face, emt plate reverb,
Este cara é fantastico. Super didático
obrigado!
I keep coming back to these GT-1 (and ME-80) videos, even though I still don't own any of the units. I haven't done any type of A/B listening with the original recordings, but I just think most of them... if not all... sound just phenomenal. It obviously helps quite a bit to be a great guitarplayer but I must say that i find it incredibly fascinating how you so closely manage to capture the essence of a sound with relative ease on these very affordable units. I might already have given this praise on some of the other videos, but it doesn't hurt to say it again. Cheers from a wintery cold Sweden! 🙂
Thank you Mats, I always appreciate the kind words. Sometimes you can get in the ballpark, and sometime you can get pretty damn close. I think you said it perfectly, I'm always trying to "capture the essence of a sound". You can never really recreate all the nuances of an original recording (even with all the original equipment let alone a multi-effect unit) so just getting near the essence is the game I think, and you learn so much from trying. So many people comment, "forget about trying to copy someone else's tone, just get your own sound" but what I've found is that through the process of trying to recreate some truly great tones, you can learn so much about so many elements of creating your own great tone. In any case, I hope you're having a great time exploring your own tonal journey. Thanks again for commenting. Josh.
I was going to like the video but patches are worth money therefore a must give a sadly dislike
That's ok. If you watch the other individual videos on my channel on Tone Design I show you how to program several of these patches along with their settings. Or, if you can can't be bothered copying me, you can pay (about as much you might pay for a nice cup of coffee) for the ones I've done for you.
@@joshuamundaymusic thanks mate First and last time watching this channel. Cheers ma' boy

@@joshuamundaymusic don't listen to these type of people, you killed it with these and would love to support buuuut the link sadly isn't working :/
@@joshuamundaymusicdude you literally should have mentioned this and I thought I could get all these tones for free but no you gotta but it I was lucky enough for my dad to buy the pedalboard
You are so good with all of these tone videos for the gt1. I just got mine for Christmas and I'm going to be plugging it in soon once my audio interface cable shows up.
Thanks Gregory. They're a fun unit. All of my patches are available here: guitarfxpatches.com
How are you bringing in the backing tracks to the GT 1?
Hi Gary, the backing tracks aren't playing from the GT-1. Sorry for the confusion. Only the guitar tones are coming from the GT-1.
man, I followed this video and am amazed by how a song I have played for 20 years sound so close to the way it was intended. it is impressive to recreate the sound they got on record in Studio, through a 200$ battery powered multi effects pedal . I would love to be able to do this with RUSH songs. Lifeson is a great example of studio created sound, in which as technology advanced and even sky rocketed in the 80s, Lifeson did as well. it is funny to think Alex had to borrow a Hi Watt and Strat to record 2112, because they were still broke!
Wish U could break down the Boston sound on a tutorial.
This is spot on!!
Thanks mate. As close as I could get with the BOSS GT-1 anyway!
Hi Joshua 👋, I really like the pathes you make. Can you please make a Rockabilly / Brian Setzer sound pathes for BOSS GT-1. Thank you in advance. 🎸🙂
Beautifully done! Thought the pitch shifter was broke but sounds perfect once the preamp is dialed in.
Nice
One question; is the sweet child of mine patch drops the tuning by half or should you tune down?
Hi, I just played it in Eb but you could use the pitch shift to do - 1 if you want.
@@joshuamundaymusic hi, can you do pitch shift in gt-1?
Not bad at all but go get yourself a Valeton GP-100 costs less and does more! Nice playing though!
How do I get he shads patches….can’t seem to find the download!
www.guitarfxpatches.com/downloads/gt-1-hanky-style-apache-shadows/
I wish you could have played the hole solo!!!!
Me too! Th reason was that I was playing it in a medley of songs and they are all playing along with a backing track. But Eruption has no fixed timing so I kind of had to chop it up so I could keep going after it... I hope that makes sense. Watch the whole thing here th-cam.com/video/FGn8ZFS8MEM/w-d-xo.html
Excellent Joshua. I've just bought one on ML. And I can't wait for it

@@wadelazenbyjr5063how do y’all know how to do this nothing is ever easy for me
I did exact what have you done but sound like crap, I think your sub delay and fx1 settings cause this shitty sound.
Hi, the sub delay was only used for a slap back delay effect so that won't change the tone. The pitch shift/minus 1 effect always changes the tone (like I say in the video). If you are running this direct into a PA or recording interface make sure you have LINE/PHONES as the setting (this turns on the speaker simulator). If you are running it into a guitar amp it will sound different because of whatever amp you are using too. Hope this helps. Josh.
Can you make a video with the BOSS GT-1 tones for the music Dreams ( Fleetwood Mac )
So much joy in Jimi’s playing. Good work to you too, Joshua, love the playing and the decoding approach! On another note, lots of people say this processor sounds a bit too “digital”. If true, any tips on how you avoid that? - will be getting one soon. Thanks!
Most processors do. That's not a dig at people that like them or the processors themselves. Analog is the only way if you're a tone chaser. If you're looking to gig weddings and birthdays (again, nothing wrong with that at all) then the multi effects processor is the way to go 100%. The sound this guy is getting from that boss is so close to the og recording that I'm almost mad lol.
@@TheRhino2719 Agree with all that you said. Analog would have been ideal if it wasn’t for space issues and the neighbours. Anyway my main interest is home recording - direct into interface. So I went and bit a bigger bullet and bought the GX100. Early days but it’s definitely going to take some configuring to get the sounds I want. On the other hand it does seem to have all the necessary base tones.
@@accentontheoff Talk about bullets and biting them, I'm unfortunately in the latter group I mentioned, a tone chaser. I recently bought a 67-68 Arbiter Fuzz Face and a 67-68 Vox Clyde McCoy. I could've bought a used car. But with the way the economy is going I figured, get them now, hard assets, and I've got 2 bucket list items. Glad that GX100 is working for you though, the closest I've had are some modeling amps. And they are pretty xool but when I turned the vol up and really dug in I could hear the robotic sounds underlying every note, I couldn't deal with it.
@@TheRhino2719 Good for you, I’m sure you’ve built up quite the collection by now. Maybe, one day, I’ll join the chase too. Have fun 🤩
These are great videos thanks man. Getting mine tomorrow:)
Boss gt1 best or me 80
amazing videos, plz do a Ritchie Blackmore patch.
Hello SIR which processor do u prefer for me use GT1 OR GT100 🤔 do rply plz easy to use n with quality sound waiting for your reply SIR
Cool stuff! But for some reason this made the patch so loud. I had to go to my play screen and turn both levels down to around 30 to get it even with my other patches. But of course now I lost some of the sustain. Did I do something wrong? I tried it twice from scratch. 🤘🏻🎸
Hi Parra, I do play with the gain stages at each part of the signal chain to get the desired result (i.e. running a pedal a bit hotter into the amp, running different volume controls in the amp at different levels to get more of the compression/sustain that you are talking about). So the answer is I don't think you're doing anything wrong, it's just my screwy way of getting a similar result from a simulation that you get from real world pedals/amps.
Try using two delays for the first song Apache. One set at 130 with fb at 30% and the other delay at 470 with the fb at 0%
Awesome! Added a 60s fuzz and phaser myself for some more soloing options
I just bought the GT-1 and I can't for the life of me figure out how to add the wah effect and have it be controlled by the expression pedal. I found the "T. Wah" that automatically gives it a wah effect, but nothing I can control with my foot. What am I missing here?
I'm sure you have it figured out by now but just in case you haven't... - Press the "Memory / Edit" button to edit a patch - Use knob 1 to select the "PDL" entry (the position may vary depending on the patch, it's the second slot on the U01 "Hi Gain Stack" preset - Use knob 3 to choose set it to "On" (the "Pedal FX" LED next to the expression pedal will illuminate) - To change the wah type, press the "Enter" button with "PDL" selected, then use knob 1 to scroll through the various pedal effects (looks like there are 6 wah options and a whammy/pitch bend effect) Or, as I just discovered, you can just press the top of the pedal down harder like a traditional wah pedal to switch it on & off - I've only had my GT1 for a few hours so I'm still figuring it out! :D
@@hexadb Thanks man!!

WTF is sticking out of your eye? You're blinking like mad messing with your peripheral vision? Isn't that really annoying? And therefore, dumb?
Hey - I was trying to download the patch but can't find where I'm supposed to put in the discount code, it takes me straight to checkout. Probably being a bit dumb but could you kindly point me to where the code's supposed to be entered? Thanks!
Hi. Please, can you help me how to download the patch using your coupon please? Thanks.
Free? download, keeps asking for all my payment information?
Man this sold me. I went out and bought one of these totally satisfied but I can't figure out how you switched the wah on and off. If someone knows let me in on it. Great video though.
Thanks for the kind words Tim. In answer to your question, I assigned the CTL Pedal to do 2 functions with 1 press. It switches the Wah OFF and switches the Overdrive ON at the same time. You can read about that in the article that accompanies this video in the "Control Pedal Assign" section of the article. rolandcorp.com.au/blog/jimi-hendrix-voodoo-chile-slight-return-tone-dissected
