Noted :)
I never comment, but this video really helped me, thank you.
For whoever this might help, if you are just trying to add text to a stl you can do it directly with Prusa slicer. Just go to add piece and then add text.
Glad I could be of assistance!
*IMPORTANT* Is there any free software where we can solidify the mesh??? (EASILY)
Text on path. Thank you Fusion! Thank you Adam!
You’re welcome!
hell yeah
bad tutorial just a lot of talking
Thanks for watching!
Get the flashforge adventurer 5m for $299 instead of one of those off brand aliexpress printers. Super simple, fantastic print quality, and preloaded filament print settings in their slicer make it almost completely brainless to get going
^^ Great recommendation 🙏
make n online course so we can learn it with all the pitfalls and positives>
Great idea 😏
Thank you for the summary - The obvious use of this for my projects is to just plaster isogrids onto the back of absolutely everything I make for strength and aesthetics.
hello from 2024, im new to fusion and this has been plaguing me for weeks now. I never read anything or saw videos about constraints... here's the doozy: I can't select the sketch object and hover over the origin to delete the constraint. I see this video is from 4 years ago, does anyone know how to delete the constraint in the latest version of fusion? edit: i just realized I can't edit the constraint because I wasn't in the "Edit Sketch" view. I had to right click the sketch in the Sketches folder and than click "Edit Sketch" to actually see the constraints...
This is a great method if you already have a body created that you would like to apply this too. Otherwise using f of x parameters under the modify tab is a much more simple way to do this.
See, my version is free. And actually processed for 2 hours before blue screening my pc. Mind you, my computer is a 2023 razer blade. So its not old
Would it be possible to shrink the shell in Meshmixer by scaling down so the final resulting model had thicker walls? I'm trying to find a way to thicken a stl file of a car body to make the printed shell thicker at smaller scales. Thanks for the information you provided.
How do you arrive at this value 10.66? I'm using other measurements, 6 mm for the hexagonal size and 0.44 mm for spacing, and when I replicate it vertically, I can't get 0.44. I'm not very good at math, I don't know how to do this calculation.
For some reason a video of moving a sketch should take 12 minutes
Something I don't understand is how he randomly placed the hexagons on the open space, and when he applied the pattern tool, the range of hexagons ended up perfectly centered on the phone case in the horizontal direction. As opposed to the hexagons being cut off in a different place on the left side than the right? They are perfectly centered. I hope this makes sense. Maybe someone can enlighten me.
Thanks for this, very timely. Pretty straight forward exercise, now how do I apply that pattern to a cylindrical surface? Maybe in a future video?
Hadn't printed anything in a year, made something for Andy last week, turned out terrible. He then broke it immediately. Glad to see yours is still going strong!
Still going strong indeed! Andy would break it immediately 🤣
Seems like yesterday….great video, nice editing
Wasn't that long ago! Thanks Mason!
Because of your video I endeed up knowing lots of engineering positions in a manufacturing company
Awesome!
Great tutorial, clear and easy to follow. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi I'm currently learning Fusion 360 for personal use and always have problems applying a taper or draft angle to a shelled body. Your video is the best "how to" covering this topic and I now fully understand and able to use these tools with confidence. I've subscribed and will be viewing more of your very well presented videos. Thank you very much 👍👍😁
Awesome! Glad you can draft now 😏
Thanks for this, as someone new to Fusion I learned a lot, but I have one question I do hope you or someone else will answer and I'm sure it's a lame question but how did you dynamically change the values you were putting in? I find having to type in the dimensions I want really annoying and would love to use up and down arrows or the mouse wheel to change the values. You seem to be doing this somehow and I'd love to know how. Thanks
Hmm. Best way I can think of would be to turn on snap to grid in the sketch settings and then you can drag your sketch geometry to increments of say 5mm. Might work? Let me know how that goes!
Insane. I learned more in this single video than in the turorial I was watching. You got a really nice speed and pace. I also really appreciate that you say out loud what key you are pressing. Thanks mate!
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you learned a lot 🙌
GREAT
🔥
Get the confidence up a bit solved my N00b question in less than a minute. This is the talk / format I relate to in a study group where not everyone is SURE of the answer. Non-social media might me be my first comment evenr in over a decades on TH-cam. "Smart" people need it dumbed down sometimes because "we got this". Over thinking = over working. Thank You
Happy I could be of assistance!
That's really cool! I was just wondering if the relationship between Industrial designers and Product design engineers is comparable to those of Architects (focused on the design) and civil engineers (focused on the technical aspects of the building, its structure, foundation, etc.) when working on a building for example
You should teach more fusion 360 for beginners like step by step using proper techniques all the way to making a 3d print. Peace man Rolfie
Thanks I had this problem I though I was doing something right . Shouldn’t The 360 fusion tutorial should show this
Awesome. Im going to switch from freecad to fusion360 and this video was great for this pattern. I use it for 3d printed stuff because it looks so nice! Thanks 👏
Dude…this video is…for real. Thank you so much.
how about cutting out the dialog at the beginning. Nobody cares what your goals are.
Agreed! I do talk too much ☺️
awesome tutorial,thanks ❤
You're welcome 😊
why isn't it possible to edit patterns?
If we’re referring to sketch patterns here, there is a way to do it. Maybe a tutorial is in need?
Thanks ! That really helps me with my cracked egg design. Been trying to figure it out.
Glad it helped!
Nice. What if you wanted to create a non disposable cover with a cap. What material would you use?
Great tutorial. On the first example I believe when you chose the bottom face for the direction you could have entered a negative value or flipped the direction. Also, when you are in the draft or fillet dialog boxes you don't have to hold CTRL to select multiple faces.
Great tip!
Fusion said this in their directions, but they are so brief. What they didn't show is there was an export in a location in a right mouse under the component. The one explained from Fusion resulted in a file with no timeline and no sketch's.
Thanks !
You bet!
Great video! What a time saver! Thanks!!
Glad it helped!
Hi, is it possible to make a honeycomb pattern on a double curved surface?
Ooh, like the airless basketball from Wilson? 🏀
I don't see how it's possible to follow along with the RaspberryPi 4 portion. The download link offers only STL (mesh) files. I can't project the faces from these, even if converted.
i love you
Quick question, why did the little shell under the lid disappeared when you changed the extrusion from 5 to 4?
This isnt working for me. When I try to select a body, nothing happens, it wont select the body !
great video. Do you know how to do this in the Form enviroment? are there any hidden combine tool someware? i cant find it. the only way i can combine different bodys to one is to delete faces on both bodys, then fuse them together, but that takes forever an are very destructive to the sculpted Form bodies.
Guys i dont have the volumetric lattice icon in my fusion 360 how can i find it ?
@adamjames where is the meshmixer link??/
Added the link in the description!
do you have the file for the original phone case before honeycombing? would love to use it as templates!!
