Dragon ball didn’t release arena fighters every year like cod comes out the last one was a last gen game that came out years ago. We’ve had I think three other dragon ball releases between arena fighters which in that same time we had like six Pokémon games come out which out of them 4 of them where the basic same as every other Pokémon game the only one that was actually new was snap and that’s a sequel. Pokken is also a last gen game with no sequel for the whole switch generation, instead they just make a switch version of the game. Let’s go was the only “mainline” game they produced that actually had something different about it unless you want to count their shitty overworld spawns but to bring up Pokémon in the same conversation as dragon ball saying they have more diversity in their releases. I actually forgot about bdsp. There’s another same game they couldn’t even bother to properly bring that game up to date like they usually do they just made a game that’s actively worse than the original. I'm one of those people that really want to get the game for the story and custom battles... i really don't care about the pvp part of it cause i know i will have more than enough fun with just those! Just like the old times where i played Tenkaichi tag team i could play for hours just creating my own story and... well mostly just beating Frieza because... its just the right thing to do and honestly the most relaxing as well...

Netcode issues arn't a big problem for me since I don't plan on living for the Online PvP. Arena Fighters have always had some major issues with netcode for awhile now. Cool if they fix it in a patch for those that do care about the online scene, but I'm mostly here to play the story mode, custom battles, and all the other side stuff the game offers with a more fleshed out roster outside of online which I believe is the case for a lot of the old heads. Praying they bring in Dragonball cast to the mix whether it be in the base game or dlc. I got the Ultimate Edition so I'm ready regardless lol Dude comparing Side Battlers to Arena Fighters lost me. You can't compare the two at all. That's like me comparing a third-person shooter to an FPS, similar in a sense but completely different gaming mechs, feel, etc.

I will say that while he has silly takes, what we value in games differ with every gamer. I, for one, value more variety of options than having things chosen for you. This era of making excuses for giving us less when you have more powerful hardware will always make no sense to me.
