The scariest part about this scene is how common scenarios like this happen in megacities like New York and Chicago. Crime is really bad now but NY in the 70s and 80s were horrible for regular citizens. This movie captures the nightlife in 70s NY unlike any other film out there. It genuinely looks and feels like literal Hell on Earth.

The actor that played the hold up guy did an awesome job of faking being shot. Amazing totally convinced he got shot for real great acting.

The store owner grabbed the gun away from the robber with the muzzle pointing at the store owner and the robber's finger on the trigger. In real life this would not have come out very well for the store owner.

This clip should be used in a mandatory class in inner city high schools on how committing violent crimes like armed robbery can be hazardous to your health.
